Alpha Queen -
Chapter 82
Liviana’s POV
“She’s here. Why is she here?”
That voice.
I know that voice.
“She shouldn’t be here”
Pa…
“Who’s here?”
Another voice?
But whose is it?
“Liviana. She’s here, your highness”
Your Highness?
Does that mean…
“My daughter? She’s here? My daughter is here?”
My father…
King Kale Alaric.
“Why is she here?”
They’re here.
Somewhere.
“I…I don’t know, your highness. But I’d know that scent of her anywhere. Liviana is here in the palace. And there’s something else that’s changed about her”
Pa, where are you?
“What is it?”
I need to replace where these voices are coming from.
But I can only see darkness.
“Liviana has found her mate”
I gasped awake.
Luan immediately looked at me worried.
“What happened? Are you okay?” Luan asked frantically.
I ended up dozing off while we were in the balcony.
I looked at Luan as I bit my lower l*p to hold back my overwhelming tears.
They’re alive.
My fathers are alive.
And they’re here somewhere
They know that I’m here.
“What’s wrong, baby?” Luan asked softly as he cupped my face in worry.
Instead of answering, I hugged him.
I can’t tell Luan just yet.
I needed to confirm it myself.
“Hey. What’s wrong? Tell me” Luan cooed as he caressed my hair soothingly.
I shook my head and looked up at him.
“Nothing. I just feel relieved that you’re beside me. That’s all” I said.
Luan smiled as he planted a k**s on my forehead.
“The things you make me feel” he said with a chuckle.
I smiled.
“Shall we go on inside?” I asked him.
Luan’s brows furrowed.
He’s probably confused.
“I thought you didn’t want to go back in there?” he asked.
“I changed my mind” I said with a cheeky smile.
Luan chuckled and pinched my cheek.
“Okay, then. Let’s go back inside” he said and intertwined our handa together as we stood up and went back inside.
I need to replace where they are.
I remembered that Pa said earlier that I was here in the palace.
“…But I’d know that scent of her anywhere. Liviana is here in the palace”
That means they’re in the palace too.
But where?
I’m sure that this place is huge.
We got inside and people greeted Luan as we passed while they looked at me up and down.
If I could only gouge their eyes out, I probably would.
This is exactly why I hated this type of people.
Also the main reason why I was never aware of the royal family.
I never bothered to know about them.
Well, until I ended up being mated to one and being one myself.
I guess now it’s pretty ironic when you think of it like that.
“You guys are back. I thought our miss Alpha here didn’t want to go back here inside” Abe said.
“What can I say? I changed my mind. I wanted to experience the party a little” I lied.
An amused smile crept on Abe’s face and I chuckled.
Not really.
I had other things to do in mind.
And that’s to replace wherever my fathers were in this place.
“Your Majesty”
We all turned to look at who called Luan and saw Luan’s uncle who is also the father of the Haymes’ siblings.
The 3 lowered their head while I only stared at him with a blank face.
He didn’t quite have a good impression on me.
Not after he stepped into my territory with his men and physically tried to threaten me and my pack.
“Miss Crest” he said and slightly bowed his head to acknowledge me.
“I believe we got on the wrong foot” he said.
I smirked a little.
“I believe so, mr. Haymes” I said and he slightly chuckled.
“I apologize. I did not know you were the his majesty’s mate” he said but I didn’t sense any type of sincerity in his voice.
In fact, it even sounded like he was mocking me.
I almost frowned but stopped myself.
I only gave him a fake smile.
Then, he turned to look at Luan again.
“Your father is calling you, your majesty. He’s in his study” he said.
Luan tensed up a bit so I lightly squeezed his hand on mine and used my other hand to caress his arm soothingly.
I felt him relax a bit and he nodded at mr. Haymes.
“I’ll be there in a moment” Luan said and mr. Haymes nodded then walked away from us.
Luan turned to me.
“I need to talk to my father for a bit” Luan said.
I reached out to him and touched his face.
“Go ahead. Take your time even. I don’t mind at all as long as you come back” I said as I caressed his face with my thumb.
Luan smiled as he placed his hand on my mine while I touched his face.
“I’ll be back as soon as I can. Stay with my cousins while I’m gone” he said and I nodded.
Luan kissed my hand and then my forehead then walked away from us as he made his way through the crowd and to his father.
“Luan looked nervous” Abe voiced out.
“He’s always nervous when the King asks him to talk because it’s so rare for them to talk” Beau said with a shrug.
I guess Luan really doesn’t have a close relationship with his father.
I think I understand why.
It’s not that I can relate to him.
But I do understand after only seeing him earlier.
“Uhm hey. Excuse me for a moment. I think I need to go to the bathroom” I told them.
They all looked at me.
“I’ll go with you” Cassandra offered.
I shook my head.
“It’s fine. I can go by myself. You guys just stay here and enjoy the party. I’ll be back as soon as I can” I said.
They looked at each other for a moment as if contemplating if they should let me go alone or not.
I gave them an assuring smile and just left.
I need to replace them quickly.
I need to atleast know where they’re located and the rest can be planned later on.
For now, my goal is to see where they’re being held captive in.
I was finally able to get out of the ballroom without being noticed by everyone.
I reached a hallway and looked left and right.
Then, I took out a mini spray from the inside of my gown which was stuck on a band in my thighs.
I sprayed a generous amount on me and used up the whole bottle to mask my scent.
Earlier before we went here, I only used an ample amount to hide my own scent but leave Luan’s mixed scent with mine.
Now, my scent is fully masked including Luan’s.
They’ll never know what’s coming for them.
Or in this case, who’s coming for them.
I closed my eyes tightly and took a deep breath.
I need to replace their voice again.
I need to replace their link.
Please.
I need to replace them.
“It’s gone. Liviana’s scent suddenly disappeared”
There.
“What do you mean? Did she finally leave?”
Found it.
“No. She…she masked her scent”
I opened my eyes and followed my senses to track the link down.
“What? Why would she do that?”
To replace you.
“Liviana, this is a bad idea. You’re putting yourself in danger” Amaris spoke up in my mind.
“I need to replace them, Amaris. I’m not leaving this place until I see them. If you don’t want to help me, then so be it. But I’m not letting this opportunity go just because I’m scared of putting my life in danger” I replied to her.
“Is this what you really want?” she asked.
“Yes” I answered firmly.
“Then let’s do it together” she said.
I smiled.
My eyes glowed gold as I let Amaris help me to track the link down easier.
“I don’t know, your highness”
We reached a big double door and stopped in front of it.
Amaris and I took a moment to smell if anyone inside but there was no one.
We looked left and right then entered the room.
It was a library.
My brows furrowed as I looked around.
There must be a hidden passage here somewhere.
“Dimitri, please. Try to look for her scent again”
I walked down the different aisles in the library until I found one that caught my attention the most.
“I’ll keep searching, your highness”
Bingo.
I walked up to it and halted.
I searched for a way to open the passage up.
I smirked when I found it.
Got it.
I tilted the book and the shelf slightly opened.
Again, we used our senses to sniff out if there are anyone else.
And there are.
I smelled 1…
2…
3…
4…
5…
There are 5 of them and then there’s Pa and King Kale.
“Liviana, we don’t have a plan. We can’t just barge in there” Amaris reminded me.
Right.
I shut my eyes tightly in frustration.
Then, I took a deep breath.
“Mom? Moon goddess?” I tried to reach out.
“Mom? Moon—“
“Liviana” the moon goddess came.
I found myself in the meadow as I looked at the moon goddess with a frown on her face.
“Is this why you decided to go to the party?” she asked in disbelief.
I smiled at her nervously.
“Please, moon goddess. I can’t just leave here now. Please. I need your help” I begged.
The moon goddess sighed then approached me and held my hands.
She closed her eyes and my hand started glowing.
“I can’t do anything else more than this” she said as she opened her eyes and looked at me.
Then, she looked at my hand.
“Use it to erase the memory of the people who will see you. You can’t get caught, Liviana” she said.
I nodded and gave her a small smile..
I opened my eyes again.
Now, we have a plan.
I went inside of the passage and slightly closed it.
I removed my heels, gathered the skirt part of my gown to shorten it and made my way down some stairs quietly.
I cautiously made my down.
The scents were getting stronger and I knew I was getting closer.
“Be careful, Liviana” Amaris reminded me.
Finally, I saw the first target.
I looked at the man for a moment as I red his movements.
Then, I found a blind spot.
I quickly leaped at his direction and landed behind him.
He reacted a second too late and I quickly knocked him out with one strong blow.
I checked his pulse and luckily, he was still alive.
The man’s nose started bleeding.
Dang it.
I reached out for the handkerchief in my band and wiped the b***d off his face.
Then, I quickly healed his nose.
After that, I placed my hand on his head anf closed my eyes.
I searched for his memory.
I quickly found the one that I was in when he saw me.
I erased it.
Then, I dragged him to the side.
Perfect.
I continued my search.
The other scents became stronger and stronger.
They were in the same area.
4 vs. 1
After a while, I was able to see them.
The 4 guards were standing beside 2 doors.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
If I was able to hear my fathers’ link, that means I can reach them as well if I try hard enough.
I clenched my fists as I focused and searched the link.
“Did you replace her?”
Yes!
“Not yet, your highness”
Now, all I need to do is reach out.
Focus.
You can do it, Liviana.
“I’m here” I was finally able to call out.
“Livi?” Pa replied.
“Liviana?” King Kale replied.
“Yes. It’s me. I’m here” I replied.
“What are you doing here, Livi? It’s dangerous. Go back!” Pa instructed.
“Liviana, dear, please. You can’t be here” King Kale said.
“No. I need to see you both to know if you’re okay. I won’t leave until I do” I said and cut the link.
I opened my eyes as it glowed bright gold.
I’ll risk it.
There was a loud thud followed by loud growls coming from the back of the doors.
The guards became distracted with the commotion.
It’s my cue.
I swiftly made my way to the guards even before they knew what was coming for them.
I grabbed 2 guards and smashed their heads on the wall.
Out.
The other 2 guards looked at me in surprise.
I smirked and immediately lunged at them even before they could react.
I kicked one guard and covered his mouth before slamming his head on the wall taking him out.
Another one down.
The last guard looked at me terrified as he pointed his sword at me.
Even before a word can come out of his mouth, I grabbed his sword and then his head and slammed it on the floor.
Finished.
I huffed as I let go of the sword.
Easy.
I turned to look at the doors and saw that they were all locked.
I took out a pin from my hair and started to easily unlock each one of the locks.
When I finished it, I gulped as I slowly opened the door.
And there I saw him.
The same pair of blue eyes like mine with a disheveled black hair and a beard growing on his face while he was on chains.
He looked at me both in shock and in awe as his eyes watered.
“Liviana” he muttered.
I covered my mouth with my hand as a sobbed threatened to come out and my eyes watered.
“Father?” I said and a tear fell from his eyes.
“My daughter” he said and I ran up to hug him.
He hugged me back despite the chains in his hands.
“You’re really here” he whispered and I nodded.
“I am” I whispered back.
“But you shouldn’t be here, Liviana” he said and cupped my face.
I sniffed.
“You have to leave now” he said firmly. I nodded.
“I will. But I need to see Pa first” I said and he sighed.
“Quickly. Then leave immediately and never come back” he said and my brows furrowed.
“I can’t do that. I’m going to set you both free the next time that I come back” I said with determination.
“No, Liviana. You can’t. I don’t want you to put your life in danger for us” he said.
“And I can’t let you live like this” I told him.
“Liviana…” he said softly and I took a step back while I held my head high.
“I will get you out in time. My mind won’t change” I said.
My father sighed in defeat.
“Then, we’ll wait patiently for you” he said with a small smile.
I smiled and hugged him again.
“My daughter has grown up to be a brave woman. I’m glad” he whispered and I smiled.
“Now, go and see Dimitri quickly before you get into more trouble” he said and I nodded.
I pulled out 2 more pins from my hair and placed it on my father’s hand.
“I’ll reach out to you guys again before I come here” I said and he nodded.
I went out of there and locked the door again like it was locked earlier.
Then, I started to unlock the locks from the next door and opened it immediately.
Pa lifted his head up and looked at me in shock.
“Pa” I said and ran up to him.
“Livi” he said as he caught me in his arms.
Like King Kale, he was chained as well.
Theu both had disheveled hair and a beard.
“Why did you come here? It’s dangerous, Livi. You need to leave” he said as he held my face.
“I know. I know. I’m leaving. But I’ll come back for both of you soon. So please wait tell then” I said.
Pa stared at me for a moment.
“Nothing will change your mind now, right?” he asked and I nodded.
Pa sighed and gave me a small smile.
“Then we have no choice but to wait for you” he said and I smiled.
Pa hugged me tightly.
“Now, go. Don’t get caught” he said and I nodded then gave him two more pins that I took out from my hair.
I looked at him once more before leaving.
Again, I locked up the doors.
I looked at the men who were knocked out cold on the ground.
I quickly healed their injuries and erased their recent memory of my presence.
Then, I ran back up to leave that place.
I found them.
Now, I just need an escape plan.
