Alpha Rising: The Wolf Runs
Chapter 24

COLLIN

“Just don’t bother anymore Renwick.” We have been dealing with the remaining Alphas trying to get some help to invade the Redland city. No one can come to a peaceful pact to do this and now I am done trying. “I’m leaving.” I stand and I go outside and to my surprise so does my father, Renwick and Thorin.

“I will go with you.” My father looks me in the eyes and then turns towards the others. “I will help get Krisna and my son along with your pack back.”

“Father you can’t you are the Alpha of this land.” My father being the strongest Alpha here is the one holding these lands down and if he should die there would be a power struggle.

“I don’t care son, my boy is out there and the woman I think the world of is also being hurt, she is like my daughter. I will come.” my father moves off the large wrap around the wooden porch and down the steps. No one says another word to him because when an Alpha makes his mind up it cannot be changed.

Because there are so many Alphas and packs that can live on a land the strongest Alpha is the one who keeps order with his pack across his land and if another Alpha as powerful comes along the Alpha can be challenged.

I knew when Krisna became and Alpha that we would be leaving, we will have to replace a new land to make our own and start filling that part of the world with wolves. It is sad that I will be leaving behind everyone I know, but also exciting because I will begin my new life beside my mate once we get her safe.

“Thank you father.” I say to him. I mean it deeper than the words, he is risking everything and the peace of his land for my mate, and of course his other son. I start to shift when in the distance my eyes catch something moving as fast as a bullet across the land.

I take off towards it, in my heart I know it’s her. I don’t know how but I do. I run and when I come to a stop, the gorgeous wolf stops in front of me sniffing me. I watch as the shift starts to happen and a gorgeous and very naked Krisna stands in front of me. Her smile is brilliant and she jumps into my arms.

I wrap my arms around her, hearing the snarling next to me, I see Kale still in wolf form looking at me, I eye him and make sure he knows I am not letting go of her. He knows she is my mate as well but the wolf him is not as understanding when he cannot smell the mating mark on me and yet I am holding her.

“Kale?” Thorin and Renwick finally meet up with us and I turn Krisna slightly to the side hiding her nudity. I do catch both of them glancing at her, but if they refuse to be her mates they shouldn’t get to see how stunning she is without clothing on.

Kale starts to shift also very nude, and he wipes his hand across his eyes looking at Krisna in my arms. He scowls before shaking his head and turning to look at Renwick and Kale. “We need to talk.”

“Here.” I turn and there is my father holding out some clothing for both. Snarls start happening all around and I notice even I am. Clearing my throat I nod to my father trying to let him know I am thankful without being able to get the words out. “I get it son, its ok.” My father looks down and backs away slowly.

Renwick and Thorin keep standing there while Kale looks like he wants to murder my father. Once he is a safe distance away I hear Ren swear before completely turning his back to us. Even they can’t stop the protection knowing our mate was nude and another man even a father in law was in her presence.

Normally nudity is fine amoung shifters but when most of the males are not yet fully mated to their mate then it becomes a huge problem. Calming myself back down, I help Krisna into the clothing my father brought and she allows it with a giggle in her throat.

“I missed you so much.” I hear her say as I yank the white shirt over her head. When her face becomes visible again, I lean in and capture her lips in a k**s. I know in a minute everything will be serious again and for just a moment I want everything but her and I to disappear for a moment.

I feel her body relax against mine as I pull her closer, wrapping her in my arms. This incredibly powerful amazing woman feels so delicate right now in my arms. She needed this as much as I did, if only for a few minutes to act like we are having a normal day.

When she pulls back I smile down at her. “I’ve missed you so much.”

She goes to open her mouth when Renwick snaps at us. “Are you two done? We have important crap to talk about.”

She turns and frowns at him. I know that him not accepting her is hurting her even when she won’t say anything to him about it. She will try and not let it faze her because she knows that once this is over with they will try and leave her.

I personally don’t think they will be able to leave her once they spend more time with her. Their wolves will begin to fight back and most of the time they take over when they are shifted. “Come on lets get back to your hut so we can talk.” I don’t want to go back to my fathers yet. I don’t want to share her, I want to be with her and her mates by ourselves for a little.

Her smile fades as I say the words. Ruse’s scent is going to be all over the hut and I didn’t even think about it.

“We don’t have to go.” I whisper. “We can go somewhere else.”

“No, it’s fine.” She grabs my hand and we all start walking that way. My father seeing us she walks over to him and hugs him, and whispers a few words before coming back to me and us continuing on our way. Once at the hut she takes a moment to touch some of Ruse’s things.

“I should have tried harder to get them all out, everything happened so fast that we didn’t have much time to react.” I see the tears form in her eyes and it is surprising to me. I watch as she grabs a shirt of his and brings it to her nose. Whatever happened there I know she is upset about it. I know he is not dead or I would have felt it and so would she. She wouldn’t be able to function properly.

Kale, Thorin and finally a very irritated looking Renwick walk in. “We don’t have time for this, we need to know what happened and how to get them back.” Ren snaps while Thorin places a hand on him. Being without any Gamma is not going to be fun. Kale is the only wolf closest to a Gamma, and he is also the only fully mated male here right now to Krisna and is trying to control his own wolf when someone touches her.

Krisna finally settles on their small couch and for a moment a vision of her pregnant and bare foot with her feet on my lap flashes through my mind. We will need a bigger home once we settle down and replace a place.

“Astra is the red witch and she had a plan to make me mate with her son who she thought was the only one who had magic. She wanted to keep me there until the baby was born but his sister Alana saved us.” She leans back and looks at all of us. “Alore is a true mate of mine and I am now mated to him.”

Her words create complete silence as we all stare at her.

Krisna

Ilook at the guys and see their faces. Kale is the only one who doesn’t have a shocked look on him since he was there. “Alana has been hiding her powers and while I didn’t catch that story, she told her brother she was leaving after she tried to save him.”

“Why are you out here then and not him?” Thorin asks.

“He told her to save me and I took Kale.” I look down swallowing hard, not able to look at Collin yet. I could have tried to save Ruse and Juniper but I focused on Kale.

“Krisna, look at me love.” Collin moves closer to me putting his hand on my knees and I look into his eyes and see how genuine they are. “This is not your fault and I’m positive Ruse told you that as well.”

He did in fact tell me but it doesn’t stop me from feeling like a piece of shit. “He did and he understood.” Looking at Thorin I am again struck by how handsome all these men are. Sharp features and amazing smile, when he actually smiles. “To answer you, I took Kale because she was hurting him and that was going to be the only one she would injure to make me mate.”

“She doesn’t know you mated this male?” Ren says through clenched teeth.

“Not that I know. She never got the chance. Right after I did, Alana came.” I lean back, going through that night, trying to figure out anything I may have missed.

“How can you trust that she is not part of this? She seems to have the perfect timing right after you mated Alore.” Thorin asks and for a moment, I think about it. Thorin sits down on the floor while Collin moves next to me and Ren still broods in the corner.

“I trust Alore.” I say simply because I feel him in my heart and in the bond. He was confused when he did what his mom told him to do it, but in reality he didn’t want to. He feels guilty even now I can feel him. He hates that he didn’t stop to think it through.”

“He was literally a part of this whole f**k up. You really haven’t f*****g changed. The same stupid girl so needy for love, you picks the literal f*****g person who got you into this.” Ren stands tall as he makes this insult completely missing the fact that Alore is a mate, he was made for me and gifted to me by the moon goddess.

Before I can say anything in return, Kale stands and starts to growl at him. I can see the sweat dripping down his forehead as he tries to fight the urge to snarl at Ren.

“Kale.” I try forcing his attention to me.

“Shut up, he is my Delta.” Ren again snaps, now furious, his eyes flashing the color of his wolf. “You better back down Delta.”

“We don’t have time for this. Knock it off, you two.” Thorin tries only to be ignored. I see his eyes flash as well. Kale moves closer to Ren.

“Just apologize and show her respect.” Kale breathes, trying to calm down.

“No.” Ren again snaps his chest, now hitting Kale. Collin stands now and I have a feeling this is going to end badly.

“Stop. All of you.” Collin says now standing. Collin stands and tries to put his hand on Ren, which pisses Thorin off.

“Hands off my f*****g Alpha.” He growls, his eyes now flashing.

“She is your f*****g Alpha.” Collin tosses back. His eyes flash and the next thing I know Ren shoves Kale and Kale lunges at Ren and together they fall out of the hut. I hear them shifting. Rolling my eyes, I go to stand when Thorin looks at me.

“Sit your a*s down, you caused th…” Thorin yells, but isn’t able to finish when Collin punches him in the mouth. They move out to the hut and they shift. Now I have four angry wolves. This happens when a Gamma is not present in the pack. Arguments become fights and scraping in wolf form.

I watch all the males start to attack one another. We don’t have time for this. I see Collin’s father and some other Alpha males running behind him.

“Krisna, what is happening? We don’t have time for this.” Alpha Torch breathes out.

“They started fighting and I am going to finish it.”

“No d..” I don’t let him finish as I shift and jump right into the fight, growling and snarling. I force Kale to back down and he lays down and Collin moves out of the way to but both males continue to guard me. Thorin moves out of the way and leaves me in front of Renwick.

I can feel his strength, but I know I’m stronger than him. I send his wolf a command to back down and shift. I feel him fighting it and I bark the order again. Snarling at him, I lunge nipping him and he moves and circles around me, looking for a weak spot.

I can feel the other wolves now gathering. None of these wolves were alive when the last female Alpha was, so this is new to them and they want to see how the power struggle plays out. Ren lunges for me and for a moment I almost miss, since the others distracted me.

“Lay down.”I send out. He ignores me and again tries to attack, and I spin and jump on his back. “Lay down.” I again attempt and this time it is so powerful that I see the other Alpha males that have gathered start laying down on the ground.

Ren holds on a little longer but eventually he lays down and I move off his back and sit in front of him. Shift. I command only him, wanting him to obey. I turn towards the other guys and say the same thing. Once they begin to shift back, I watch as the scars from their fight start to heal before my eyes and even looking at Collin and Kale. My wolf puffs with pride at their battle scars.

I start to shift and start to feel sick right away. All of you can leave. I scream through the command of my wolf. I see the confusion as the men around me, all Alphas start to stand and stare at me. Even Collins father looks shocked.

Heading into the hut again, I attempt to shift again feeling sick. My wolf is dizzy and is fighting the shift. I lay down on the floor and try to calm myself down enough to shift. I don’t know why my wolf is fighting the shift, but the more she does the sicker I feel.

“Krisna, love, are you going to shift back?” Collin moves closer to me and I look up at him and when he sits in front of me I hear the whine in my tone.

“Is she okay?” Kale moves to my other side, and I turn to look at him. Talking through the link I say. “I don’t know what is wrong. My wolf is sick and is fighting the shift.” I lay my head on Kale’s lap as he sits and he runs his hand along my head and down my spine and it surprisingly feels amazing.

“She says she doesn’t feel well, and the wolf is fighting the shift.” He doesn’t stop rubbing me and slowly the feeling of being sick fades. Once the feeling has lessened, I again try feeling this time will be successful.

“I need to lay down and then we can talk.” I don’t know if it was because of the last couple days or because of the fight. I just hope that it is not Alore or Ruse or even Juniper. Collin helps me to walk to the bed and as I am laying down, I see Ren and Kale talking.

Too tired to listen to them, I turn to Collin. “When you wake up love we will talk.” He leans down and k****s me as my eyes droop.

“I love you.” I whisper as my eyes close. I curl under the cover smelling Ruse and I all over the bed and it calms my wolf. When I wake we will have to plan and start moving, this is already putting us back.

I also know that the Alphas out there will want to try and talk to me but they will have to wait. I know they are going to be curious about what happened and how I commanded them all to lay down, when they are not my mates and if I could do it again.

Rest your mind love, you got this. The voice sounds like Alore, and I smile closing my eyes.
