Chapter 17

Andrew's POV

We get back to the pack house and everyone is pretty relaxed since the run. Murphy can't shut up about how big Kayla is and her "running on flames" as he puts it. I can see that it's making Lina a little embarrassed. We pull up to the pack house and walk into the lobby. "Hey I'm going to go talk to my dad for a minute. Do you want to come with? Or I can meet you back upstairs?" I ask Lina

"What's it about? Work?" She asks. I don't want to lie to her.

"No, it's about what you asked me for back at the clinic. If we knew someone old enough to remember the legend." Her eyes light up for that.

"Can I come?" She asks and I smile and nod. We go to the elevator and go to floor 9. When we get to my parents suite, my mom is in the kitchen and my father is in the living room.

"Well what a surprise." My father says getting up and giving me a hug.

"Who is it dear?" My mom asks from the kitchen.

"It's your favorite person." I say and Lina giggles.

"Lina?" She asks knowing I'm the one who responded. Lina laughs more at this as my mother comes around the corner with a smile.

"My dears what are you doing here?" My mom asks kissing my cheek and hugging Lina.

"Well actually I needed to talk to dad." I say

"Well sit down and I'll bring some coffee." She says going to the kitchen.

"Tea for me dear it's far too late and I'm far too old for coffee." My dad says. We all sit down and my father looks at me.

"Dad, did you replace the person you were talking about, the one that might know the legend?" I ask. He looks at Lina.

"Actually I did. I have sent word to her to see if she will accept us." My father replies leaning back in his chair. "Accept us?" Lina asks.

"Yes dear she's not known for having guests. I thought it would be better to tell her our intentions first." He says. It makes sense.

"How long before we'll have an answer?" I ask

"Oh a few days, remember it's far. But I found someone close by. As soon as I hear back I will let you know. If she agrees when would you want to go? Before or after Rachel's wedding?" He asks.

"Before." Lina says right away, "I'm sorry, I just want to know as soon as possible. Especially after what happened today." She says looking away.

"Why? What happened today?" My father asks. Right when my mother comes in with coffee. Lina takes a cup.

"Lina, I didn't even ask you what it felt like. What did you feel when it was happening?" I ask her.

"What happened!?" My father asks more concerned.

"We met Kayla today and she was beautiful." Lina blushes at my compliment, "And big, she was a little bigger than Mark." I say.

"Really?" My dad says in wonder.

"We all went for a run. And then Murphy, Lina, and I started racing. Kayla was moving so fast and she started to glow, like in the clinic. Then she started to leave behind what Murphy describes as little flames where her paws touched the ground. At least that's how Murphy describes it. I was running too close to her to see it happening." I turn to Lina, silently re-iterating my question from earlier.

"Well it felt really good to be able to shift again. And running felt amazing. But I don't really remember too much, Kayla was in control. I just know she wanted to go fast. I felt a bit warm, but nothing uncomfortable. It.. it felt like.." she trails off. "What Lina?" I ask.

"Well, it felt like I wasn't even touching the ground." She says.

"Like flying." My father says almost like a whisper and a revelation. He looks off into the distance, lost in thought.

"What is it dad?" I ask impatiently.

"I'm not sure. Let me look into some things. I want to be sure." He says. I nod.

We drink our coffee and chat a bit more about casual things, but I can tell Lina is exhausted so we don't stay long. We say our goodbyes and head upstairs.

"You look tired. How long was your nap?" I ask on our way up the elevator.

"I'm not sure. I laid down right after getting home from shopping and you saw when I woke up." She says.

"Well maybe shifting took a lot out of you. It's been awhile." She just nods in agreement. I didn't want to sound like I was worrying that she was pushing too hard. I want to trust her to know her limits, but I think she did too much in one day. She just came from the clinic like a few days ago. We get back to the apartment and we go straight to bed. As soon as her head is on my chest she's asleep. It's cute and I lay there listening to her breath. I am so in love with this girl.

Over the next week we start getting back into a normal routine. I start going back to the office, while Lina picks up her training, painting, and helping Rachel plan her wedding. My mother and her even start meeting so Lina can understand a Luna's responsibilities. Her eagerness to learn her new role is really cute and makes me proud. She has come so far from that scared girl on the plane.

The Blood Forest Pack has finally turned Yuri over to us. I haven't figured out exactly what to do with him. By law, death is typically the outcome, but I know I need to talk to Lina about it. Later that night Lina and I are hanging out in the living room. "Lina I need to talk to you about something." I say and she looks concerned.

"Ok" she says putting down her book and turning towards me.

"So after you were attacked by Yuri, we sent Blood Forest a letter of retribution. Do you know what that is?" I ask. She shakes her head. "Well because we knew it was Yuri who attacked you, we asked for punishment for his wrong doing. Basically we asked for him to be handed over or we would start a war." She seems surprised.

"Why would you do that?" She asks

"Lina, you are the future Luna of this pack. We cannot let anything like that go without acting. They could have killed you. We can't let you be a target" I say and grab her hand.

"So what did they do?" She asks.

"They turned Yuri over to us." Her eyes widen.

"He's not here is he? Like where is he?" She starts breathing heavy and looking around the apartment.

"Baby calm down he's not here. He's not even in this building." I say trying to calm her. She relaxes a bit at my words. "I'm telling you all this because I need to decide his punishment." I say and she looks at me. "What would the normal punishment for something like what he did be?" She asks

"Death." I say plainly. She looks down thinking about it.

"Well I don't want to seem weak and he's a cruel person for what he's done to me.. but I really don't like the idea of someone dying because of me.. Can I think about it?" She asks

"Of course, you should. It's a mans life. He has done terrible things and if the decision was up to me, I would have him executed. Or at least challenged. But I think this one should be yours." I say. She nods

"Yes I think so too. What is challenged?" She asks.

"I could challenge him to a life or death. Basically we would fight to the death, it's a more honorable way for him to die. Or he could choose to tap out which would be life in prison. It really leaves the decision up to the person how they want to spend their life." I explain. She nods in understanding.

"I will think about it and let you know." She says. I pull her into my lap and wrap my arms around her and burry my face in her neck. She wraps her arms around my neck. I love her smell. I can never get enough of it. I take in a deep breath. She pulls my head back and kisses me, deeply. I run my hands down her side and grab her thigh. She shifts her position to straddle me never breaking the kiss. I run my hands up her thighs and to her a** and pull her in to me.

When she rubs against me I realize I don't want to tease her tonight and I don't want to take things slow. I want her. I want my mate.

I stand up holding on to her and walk towards the bedroom. I close the door behind us and pin her body up against it. I push myself into her. I take off her shirt and she takes off mine. She kisses me and I kiss her. I trail down her neck to her spot. She lets out a moan. I start sucking and I feel her breathing quicken. Moans escape her mouth with every breath.

"Mark her." Mark says in the back of my mind. I want to but I won't until she's ready. "Mark her, she is our mate!" Mark urges. Ugh he is ruining the moment.

I take her over to the bed and playfully drop her onto it. She giggles and starts taking off her pants. When she's done she takes mine off. Then she takes off my underwear releasing my hard member. She wraps her hand around it and starts stroking it. It feels so good. I close my eyes and enjoy it for a moment.

Then I feel her mouth around my tip. I let out a moan as she takes me fully in her mouth. She works it in and out of her mouth. I pull her hair together and push myself into her mouth further.

"Oh Lina that feels so good." I say. She goes faster, but when I feel the pressure build up I pull her head back and crawl on top of her. I enter her immediately. She tilts her head back and moans. I run my hand down to her nub and rub in a circular motion. Her body is hot.. wait.. like really hot. I slow down.

"Don't stop. Andrew please." She begs as she looks at me. Her eyes are a mix of blue and purple.

"Please" she says again. How can I deny my mate? I go faster and place my mouth on her erected ni**les. She moans louder arching her back. I feel the pressure in both of us peak and then we release.

We are both out of breath and sweating. It's so hot in here. Then, like puzzle pieces fitting together, I realize.

"It's you." I say. She looks at me confused.

"What's me?" She asks as I come and lay next to her. My fingers trail her stomach.

"The heat. When we had our argument earlier and Rachel came in and said how hot it was, and when I walked into the training room with you and Lucas, the flame steps, s*x. It's you. I don't know how, but you radiate heat." I say. She looks like she is thinking about all the events.

"But it doesn't feel hot to me." She says.

"Exactly. But babe it's hot in here and not just from the s*x." I say

"How? Why? I don't understand." She says.

"We'll figure it out babe. I promise." I kiss her nose.

"But let's sleep in your room tonight. It's too hot in here." I say and she giggles. Well I'm glad she's not afraid. We need more information.
