Catalina's POV

I'm on the plane laying in bed. I've just come to from what Kayla showed me.

"So the reasons Andrew's rejection didn't work is because I didn't accept it?" I ask Kayla. "Like with Carrie and Liam?" I add.

"Correct."

"I still don't understand why I had to go through all of that. Why did Andrew have to reject me. Why did I have to fall in love with Liam." I say to Kayla.

"Lina it was because of the sacrifice and who it had to be. To be a true sacrifice it had to be someone you loved. You would have never love someone else as long as you had Andrew. It also had to be an unknowing sacrifice. You couldn't have faked it. I couldn't tell you to fall in love with Liam so later we could sacrifice him to the Sun God." Kayla said.

"But I killed someone for my own gain. I never wanted to be that person. No matter what."

"Lina, he was a bad man, and as soon as he got what he wanted he would have changed. He was putting on an act. None of it was real. He planned the war, the murder of hundreds of people, for power. For you." Kayla was right he was acting. I just couldn't help the feeling in my stomach. Flashes of Liam's face in pain.

"He would have tried to kill you Lina." She says.

"You don't know that. Maybe he was changing?" I say. Kayla doesn't respond with words. Instead she shows me more.

"When we get back to the pack, I will mate with the white wolf. Then I will take my place." Liam says to Jerry.

"What about Lina?" Jerry asks.

"She could be a problem. She's definitely falling in love with me. But she won't like doing what I have to do. She might need to be dealt with." Liam says.

"Dealt with?" Jerry asks.

"Gotten rid of, killed, taken out. Pick a phrase. I don't want her standing in my way. I will control all the packs of this realm. Her gift will be shared in this pack and with me as her mate." Liam says. "How do you kill a Phoenix?" Jerry asked.

"With Iron." Liam says.

Present day.

"Is that true?" I asked.

"Which part?"

"All of it. Any of it. Just because someone said they would do something doesn't mean.."

"He said he would start a war and he did.I know you fell for him. It was the plan. But Lina, he wasn't a good guy."

I know she's right "And the iron?" I ask.

"That's true too." Kayla says.

"So iron and silver can kill me?" I ask.

"With great power comes weakness." Kayla says.

"What about everyone in the pack? What about Sarah? Violet? Did they all know?" I ask.

"Most of them did not know. Most, if not all of the warriors knew who and what you were. Sarah was a warrior so she knew. Violet knew Carrie was her son's true mate." Kayla says. "What will happen to the pack now?" I ask.

"Well the pack would normally go to either the Luna, which they never official got. The Beta, which would either be Jerry or Jet. Or a close relative." Kayla says. "Will you know what they decide?"

"I will."

"What about the Phoenix? I can feel the power in me since the sacrifice."

"There is one more trial." Kayla tells me

"What trial?" I ask.

"The final trial is about your gift. You will now need to learn to use the powers you have. But you have somethings you need to do before the next trail comes." "Like what?" I ask.

"You need to build an army."
