Chapter 70

Catalina's POV

I look down and see Andrew. HES ALIVE?!?

Flashback back to Lilith's

"What else can they do?" I ask

"Well a lot is said about them, but not much is truly known. Their tears can heal, or bring people back to life. They can live up to 500 years or they are immortal. They pull their power from the sun." Lilith says. Present

Andrew's not dead. I feel relief and joy wash over me. I cry, but this time with gladness. I brought him back to life. I can bring people back to life.

"We have to remember that." Kayla says. I look back at Zeus.

"Why aren't you fighting?" I ask. Helia is excited that Andrew is alive but I can't back down.

"I still want you to accept my offer. I will not lay waste to this land until I have to. My offer stands until sundown, or until you manage to remove Pans head from his body." He glances down to the sickle at my hip. "If I join you, will you still kill everyone else?" I ask.

"Are we negotiating?" He asks. "Well?" I say.

"The whole reason for this is to wipe out Phoebe's children from the humans to the others. But I feel I could be swayed. Pan on the other hand is not one to back down. I could be convinced to spare them for a price." Zeus says. "Fine, I will deal with Pan. Once he is out of the way come to me." I say. Zeus smiles victoriously. Then a loud crash and he is gone. I scan the ground for Pan, but all I can see are werewolves and trees. To the right of the line I see what looks like large stone men headed for the wolves. I make it rain fire in their direction, getting the attention of the witches and Fae. The witches used their magic to cut down the stone men by opening the earth beneath them. I get closer to the front of the battle to search for Pan. Then I hear a low rumbling sound. The trees part ways to a herd of beasts rushing towards the wolves. The beasts looked like a mix between a bear and a wolf. The beasts plow through the first few wolves they come to. The witches and Fae worked with the wolves, like in training, but the beasts were strong. In the chaos I notice Pan, in the back of the trees watching from a distance. That coward! I need to figure out a way to get to him without him noticing, and I need to get close. "Andrew" I say in my mind link.

"Lina! Where are you?" Hearing his voice again was real reassurance he was alive.

"Look up." I say.

"Wow Lina."

"I am so happy you aren't dead and I am going to kick your a** later for jumping in front of me. But for right now I need to get to Pan."

"I couldn't let anything happen to you. I love you. Where is he?"

"He's in the back watching." I say.

"How about we make a distraction. You fly high, so he can't see you. Come from behind him." Andrew says. I smile. That is a good plan. I need to get close. But I might need back up.

"I'll need back up." I say.

"I'll send two your way to help." He say

"Fly high and get behind him. Wait for our signal." He says.

"What's the signal?"

"Oh you'll know."

"Ok, be safe." I say.

"You too." And with that I fly as high as I can. I can barely make out what is going on below me.

I fly over to where I know I will be behind Pan and fly closer to the ground. I see the battle coming into view. I search for Pan and spot him, still behind the battle. I am behind him and I don't think he saw me. I land on the ground as quietly as possible. I get close to him and wait behind a tree for whatever the signal will be. Then I hear a loud explosion and the ground shake.

"Now!" I hear in my head. I rush towards Pan as he was looking for the explosion. Then I see Lilith and Alastair come out of the battle and headed right towards Pan. His attention is on them as I am coming up from behind. I remove the sickle from my hip. Lilith blasts Pan backwards closer to me and I slice through Pan's neck. Pan's head rolls to the ground as his body goes limp and falls. Lilith and Alastair land next to Pan's lifeless body.

"Is that it?" Lilith says out of breath.

"That seemed too easy." Alastair says.

Then we hear clapping from behind me and laughing. I turn to see Pan walking out from a tree. I look back at the body laying lifeless and see it turns back into a tree.

"Wow. Good try everyone. But you didn't think it would be that easy, did you?" Pan says as the ground starts to shake. All three of us lift off the ground to avoid being disoriented. The ground opens to a deep cavern of flowing lava. I hear Pan laughing. "I am the God of the wild! You will never defeat me!" Pan says.

"We need to attack him, all at once. See if he can fend us all off." Lilith says to us. We nod in agreement. The hot lava below gives me an idea.

"On three.. one.. two..three!" Lilith and Alastair used their magic to rain down on Pan, while I pull, from below, the fire of the earth. I unleash as much heat as I can. After several minutes I pull back.

"I need to go in. I need to get close to him!" I yell to Lilith and Alastair. In the magic and fire blasting I can still see Pan in the middle of it all. Lilith nods to me.

"Get close. We'll pull back, but only for a minute." Lilith says. I get as close as I can to him without getting in the cross fire. In a split second Lilith and Alastair stop firing for me to see Pan, his fur is singed, one of his horns is burnt and broken. He looks tired and out of breath. He also looks enraged. In this moment it feels like everything is in slow motion again. I pull out the sickle again and raise it above my head. Pans eyes widen as he realizes what is happening. He tries to duck away when I see three wolves come out of the forest. I guess when Pan was so focused on us he forgot about the whole battle going on. Pan wasn't going anywhere. He has turned to the wolves in surprise before the blade hits his neck. I remove Pan's head from his body, again. This time after the head hit the ground the forest fell silent. You could hear a pin drop with how quiet it was. I wait a moment after the body fell to see if this too was a trap.

"I think.. I think we did it this time." Lilith said. After not hearing any laughing, Alastair and I agreed with her. Alastair hugs me. Then I heard a growl behind me. A growl I would know anywhere. I turn to see Andrew! I run into his arms as he spins me around. "You're alive! I thought you left me." I say.

"Can't get rid of me yet." He said burying his face in my neck.

"I love you Andrew"

"I love you Lina" I pull back and kiss him.

"Um guys. We still have one more God to take on." I hear Murphy say. He's right. I just thought I'd never kiss Andrew again. My wolf just wants to rip off his clothes and mate with him, but we have to finish this. I pull back from Andrew and he places me on the ground. Then we hear a loud crack and a flash of light. I turn around to see Zeus.

"Well done child." He booms.

"Lina, I have an idea." Kayla says.

"What is it?"

"Do you trust me?" I hate it when she asks this. It means she's not going to tell me and I just have to do whatever she says.

"Do I have a choice?"

"No. Let me take over." She says.

"Really? You think you can take him?" I say to her.

"Just give me control. Trust me." She says.

"Ok fine." I say. I let Kayla take over as I move to the back of my mind. I don't know what she has planned but I hope it works. "So child. Tell me have you considered my offer?" Zeus says

"Have you considered mine?" Kayla asks.

"Yes I have. I will spare them, if you agree." Zeus says.

"Then I accept your offer." Kayla says. WHAT?!?

"Kayla what are you doing?!" I ask.
