“You're a liar." I mutter.

I felt cheated.

A building tension wrapped the air about us and I glared at the tiled floor beneath my feet. In thismoment, I wished the floor could just open up and gobble me whole. Sweep me away from thisplace.

“To what?!” I spun around facing him. Rings of powerful, raging fire surrounded my crimson orbsuntil my lips let out a sharp breath. Apparently, he'd been leaning down as he walked closer towardsme the exact moment I whipped my face to him.

Inexplicable sparks then traveled throughout my whole body, my eyes fluttering in a moment ofconfusion and shock.

I stare dazed at the impeccably handsome face of my mate, merely an inch gap between his andmine.

Alex sighed, throwing his hands up in the air as if to admit defeat. He steps back, creating a decentgap between his and my body, now burning in a passionate desire I could barely hold back.

“No, that was indeed a lie,” He states.

Biting my lip, I nod while I squeezed my eyes tightly shut. I tossed my hands to my sides. Frustrated.“I had a feeling you'd want to run, that was why I said that. I just... wanted you to stay” He says."Have you ever considered what I, want?” I whisper, my face now void of any emotions as I standcompletely still with arm leaning on the wall.

If he just told me the truth, I would've gotten far away from this pack by now. To a place my matecould never replace me. And he could've stayed safe.

I feel him slip his hands around my waist. His body advancing closer until I could feel his crotchpressing against my ass.

My heart almost leapt out of my chest when he leaned down and buried his nose in my neck. Hemoved my hair gently, tucking it behind my ear before he started nibbling on my skin. Instinctively, Ibobbed my head. Giving him a better access to my marking spot which made him groan as thoughin approval.

Disappointment whirled in his eyes but I didn't care. When he was sure I was dead serious with mywords, he sighed and spins me around to face him while creating a much needed distance betweenus.

"Do you hate me?" He asks.

Pursing my lips into a thin line, I shook my head gently.

"No, I don't. I just need some time alone," I say truthfully. Shrugging my arms off and stepping backin a bid to evade his tantalizing touch.

A brief moment of silence enveloped the hallway before I heard him sigh.

“I spoke with that man on a suit back there, he said I can take you home,”

I remember Devin as the man wearing a tailored suit. How have I not heard him tell Alex that?

My lips parted slightly but no words came out my mouth. Instead, I nod and the next thing I know,my hand is suddenly intertwined with his.

We headed to his shiny blood-red lamborghini parked right in front of the building's entrance.

The drive back to the Red Silverwood pack lasted two long, devastating hours before we finallyarrived.

I strided out the door, dashing towards my own room without looking back.

“Wait, Eleanor!”

I don't listen and continue to trudge up the staircase until I finally reach my room.

Alex followed closely behind me, but before he can grab me by my waist again, I slammed the doorright on his face.

I lock it quickly to make sure no one makes another goddamn entrance in this room.

I wanted to be alone.

“Baby, please” Alex whispers through the door. I slide my back against the same door with my eyestightly shut.

Ten minutes passed but I can still feel Alex's presence from behind the door. It looks like he's beensitting there, waiting for me to suddenly change my mind for him. But I won't.

Ares whimpered at the need of being with her mate. His intoxicatingly, heavenly scent was makingher crazy. Like wild crazy and I can tell she's at the verge of breaking.

I grip onto her in my mind, shaking my head. She whimpers and lays down as though she’s lost allher strength. Our bodies are in heat. Hell, once the door behind me comes crashing down goddessknows we'll be launching at each other in no time.

“No,” I reply.

“Look, I'm sorry I lied. I promise I'll make it up to you”

Raising my eyebrow, I turn to stare at the door picturing Alex's face. “How?”

I jerked as the sound of the door knob turning and twisting reaches my ears.

I jump to my feet, grabbing the door knob before it's too late. Only that, it was.

A crashing sound came as Alex pushed the door wide open, exposing me in my current state ofneed.

His strong, musky scent lingered in the air, intoxicating me completely. Even more when our eyeslocked.

The rising and falling of my chest becomes a thousand times faster, until he was there, standing infront of me.
