I had just finished making my last round when I finally decided to go to my room.

As I made my way upstairs, I rushed to take off my robe. Tossing it carelessly to my king-sized bedbefore stripping off my boxers then kicking it to the floor.

I found myself sniffing the air when a familiar scent had suddenly invaded my nose, touching all mysenses and making my wolf purr in excitement.

Ignoring the red sign upon seeing a woman's blurry figure pacing inside the shower room, I walkedslowly towards the bathroom when I notice the figure disappear. The door bursted wide open,revealing a very naked Eleanor staring up wide-eyed at me.

As expected, Coby had purposely brought her to my room. Because we've known each other foryears, he must have noticed my fondness for her when we were in the forest.

And, considering the fact that he's been practically begging me every single day to replace a mate whocould take her place as a Luna in our pack, I'm not surprised. He had done the same trick to me asmany times as I can remember, when random she-wolves had mysteriously appeared right undermy bedsheets time and time again.

We could say it's not any different than now, except that it was Eleanor standing naked by mybathroom door.

Her hair was dripping wet, and her small, trembling body let me know she has failed to replace anytowel, like how other women who Coby forced to enter my room failed before her.

I must say, this is the first time Coby every pleased me by bringing a woman in my bedroom.

The moment I saw her curvy body at my bathroom door, all my instincts were telling me to claimher right there and then, when I noticed the look of fear in her eyes that instantly made me stop.She was scared...of me. And I don't want to act on my desire to claim her with that expression onher face.

Moments later, my own jealousy had pushed me to lean down and kiss her lips as soon as I sawthem pucker up in front of me.

The feel of her luscious lips on mine was something else. It felt satisfying, fulfilling, even. I reveled init the first second her plump lips pressed into mine. It felt surreal, but then something feels off.

My eyes closed, the desire to feel her mouth and taste her tongue for the very first time had forcedme to give in, to let myself kiss her and take what's mine. She was and has been mine for a longtime, since the day I laid my eyes on her deep in that forest.

Why else would the moon goddess lead me to save her in the hands of those bastards who plottedto devour her body, if we weren't destined? I lost her years ago, when she had suddenlydisappeared into thin air, as if she never existed. But now, it seemed she’s found her way back to meagain.

I let out a short breath in between the kiss, tasting her divine lips when out of nowhere, a sharp slaplanded directly on the side of my face.

The hard impact sent my face flying to the other direction whilst my body stumbled back. I groaned,vaguely aware of my cheek redenning from the unanticipated slap.

My wolf was shocked, anger instantly building up inside him as a low but fierce growl rumbled frommy chest.

She gasped just when I snapped my eyes up to her equally shocked face, our gazes intertwined. Sheheld her hand close to her chest, her face visibly guilty and painted with regret.

I furrowed my brows tighter.

While my wolf grunted in anger inside me, all I could feel was my heart breaking instantly at theblunt rejection.

The pain in my heart stung more than the actual pain on my swollen cheek.

Clenching my fists on both sides, I stood there like a stunned idiot as an eerie silence began toenvelope the air around us.

'l-I'm sorry... I just..can't,” Her words came out through soft whispers.

I nodded and didn't open my mouth for a few seconds.

"Do you really love him? Alexander?" I ask, looking at her straight in the eye.

She glanced up at me shocked, her crimson red eyes sparkled at the mention of his name. I noticeher gulp before lowering her gaze to the tiled floor.

Her body shuddered, and I wanted to pull her close to my chest. Pet her, pure for her if need be, justso she wouldn't feel cold and alone.

Anger in my wolf subsided as it was gradually replaced with pain, as well as humiliation.

I've waited for her for so long.

In the end, this is what I receive?

Somehow, I knew this was my fault. If I hadn't let let my trust issues get in the way...If I opened upmy heart to her like she did to me...

Would everything change?

"Yes," she whispered.

That single word was enough to tear me asunder, though I refused to let it show.

All of a sudden, my body felt too heavy for me to bear.. or is it just my heart?

Right now I didn’t feel like myself at all.

Turning my back on her, I headed to the shower. In every step, I felt like a thousand needles werepricking into my skin.

Before I went straight inside, I mind linked an omega to bring some clean clothes for her in myroom.

Closing the door with a loud bang, I turned on the cold shower and stood there, feeling the ice coldwater begin to drizzle down on my body. I tsked before grabbing on the faucet, feeling all energytravel to my hand as I pulled it all the way down. Hoping to force more water out of the showerhead when it snapped. My jaw clenched as I stared at the broken faucet in front of me.

"You've got to be kidding me.." I whisper to myself when I felt Coby reaching out to me throughmind link.

“Boss, someone's here’

What now? I groaned to myself.

I took a deep breath, closing my eyes while feeling the cold water assault my face like a heavyrainstorm.

“Tell them I'm fucking busy right now, Cobe’

I was about to cut off the link, but what he says next sends my body burning with rage.
