Alpha's Human Luna
Chapter 18

A connection will be built tonight, before the Moon Goddess and my pack...

This connection was established long before they were born. There is no other bond that can match to that of a true mate. However, the witch was distressed by the fact that her own dominion had been cursed as a result of his avarice. As a result, she made a wish. a mate's bond" David takes a breather before continuing. My attention is drawn to the side of his face where he is looking at me. Except for David, we are all deafeningly quiet. I'm waiting with trepidation, and I'm no longer feeling cool. I'm beginning to perspire, and a headache is beginning to build in my temples. I focus my attention on the lovely couple who are holding hands and looking into each other's eyes. Something flashes through David's hand and rests in his palm.

David is no longer audible to me. There was no sound, just the sound of a gunshot that was quite close to me. My gaze, on the other hand, is fixated on the blade.

In the lady's hand, David places the knife's tip into her palm and draws it down diagonally, causing her to scream. Throbbing blood seeps from the cut, streaming down her hand and staining the snow under her feet. She doesn't even flinch, just smiles. He does it to a man who doesn't even blink an eye. Hunter accepts the bleeding knife from David, and the two of them interlock their fingers. My hands shake. David. It's time to cut the ribbon, then.

I take off my gloves and tuck them inside the pocket, leaving the ribbon out of the pocket. I pull the ribbon out of my pocket and step in front of them. A gust of wind whips the other direction. As I wrap the ribbon around their wrists, my hands quiver with excitement. I tear up as I double-tie the ribbon.

"Congratulations."

I make my way back to David's side. I lift my chin to watch as my pack members extinguish their candles in silence.

My body is moving at a quicker rate than my mind. I'm saying goodbye to the pack, as well as the mated couple and David.

I felt a big heartache and my head is dizzy, my chest felt like being choked by a big stone.

I think I'm going to have to go back to the mansion. However, all I see is forests. When I finally get a glimpse of the mansion, I start sobbing. I leap to my feet and swivel open the entrance to the house.

I collapse to my knees as soon as my feet touch the Welcome mat inside, yearning for an answer. It's more difficult to breathe. Tears trickle down my cheeks as I bend down on my knees. I'm alone by myself, sobbing uncontrollably. It stings a little. It's a dull aching.

My spine is scorching, causing me to scream in anguish and cry out in pain. A pounding of footsteps up the porch steps, arms wrapping around me. I look up and replace that it's David.

"I-I don't understand!" I break down and sob.

David takes a deep breath and hushes me. Take a deep breath, everything will be OK; he understands my distress. As I'm being dragged up the stairs by strong arms, I can't stop weeping. My cries have been replaced by faint sniffles and gasps, but the misery in my mind and chest has not subsided at all.

My hair is swept away by my fingers. I can hear him sigh, and the empty spot on my bed begins to slump.

You've gotten yourself into trouble, Susan. The presence of the Moon Goddess in the ceremony prompted it to come to a halt, pained.

"It didn't help that there was a full moon tonight." He speaks in hushed tones, and the sound of his voice has helped me to relax. "I don't have a problem with full moons."
