Alpha's Human Luna -
Chapter 47
The nurse exits and locks the door, leaving David and me alone.
The day's tension has strained our once-lustrous link. I know the shift between us won't endure, but the wait is killing me.
"What have I ever done to make Hunter despise me?" I wonder
David looks at me with blue eyes full of astonishment, surprise, and remorse. But my demanding stare must be too much for him since he looks back up at me.
"I dunno, Susan. Perhaps it's because you're human," David sighs, rubbing his calloused hands through his hair, leaving my palm chilly despite the raging fire. "Fuck. No idea. My Beta shouldn't detest me." He adds. David's new knowledge echoes in my ears. Human. It's illogical,
I was locked in the little clinical with the uncomfortable bed and scratchy linens since I couldn't leave without the doctors' consent.
To make myself feel better about the rock, I urged David to lay with met mine and his chiseled jaw tensed.
I giggled as he groaned loudly but climbed in bed with me, taking up most of the clinic bed's breadth.
David sighs. Our bodies harmonize. Close my eyes and smell his aroma that drives me mad.
David puts his arms around my lower back as his hands toy with the edge of my shirt, which is shamefully covered with his and Hunter's blood from the battle.
I don't dream much at first. I'm simply waiting for something. My eyes' radiance dims, making it easier to see what's in front of me. But holy stuff. Fearful of what is ahead, my heart stops pounding, and my stomach drops out of my ass. But I'm still dreaming because I can't teleport to the forest center where there isn't a single snowfall, and the wind rustles my golden hair.
Instead of snowflakes, blood and ripped ligaments blanket the ground, covering feet, legs, chests, arms, and heads. It's a bloodbath. As the blood-gushing body pieces August over the grass and reconnects, creating human forms that hiss my name from their gory lips, I can't move.
My throat fills with bile as they approach.
"Susan, Susan, Susan,"
I use all my power to flee the beasts, but I can't. My feet are like cement blocks tethered to the earth. Their stink strikes my nostrils, scorching the hairs and making me choke in horror. They stink.
"Susan," one tattered lady mockingly chuckles as she observes my try to go. "Weak Susan." Tsks. "Susan!"
They hurl themselves at me, laughing, and around my shoulders.
The scream is murderous, and I jerk up, my heart thumping against my rib cage.
The lingering recollections and overwhelming stench drive me to vomit over the side of my bed an enraged roar echoes.
"Wait, what?" I ask, jerking over the bed.
My eyes well up with tears as I aggressively cough up my stomach contents. The acidic sensation in my mouth causes me to gag and vomit on myself.
"Susan?" David softly rubs my back, giving a warm sensation up my spine, while his other hand pulls my loose blonde hair and keeps it away from my face if I vomit again.
My tears fall to the floor as I implore David for aid. David gently lifts me and cradles me against his chest. His body heat calms me as my eyelids drop.
"Nightmare," I mutter, tired and sleepy.
David's enraged growl rumbles my chest from behind me. "What if-"
"No, don't worry," I respond, shaking my head, even though the notion of what triggered my nightmare makes me want to puke.
The doctor comes into my room, terrified and anxious. Her bright eyes scan my limp body for released fluids. Her eyes light up.
"Pardon, Luna, Alpha. I had another patient-"
"Good." David firmly asserts, his Alpha tone fully engaged.

The doctor comes to the opposite side of my bed to check on me, calling for a nurse to mop the floor. Her cold hands take my hands on my lap, and her middle and ring fingers check my pulse. Josephine then asks me to sit up and takes her dark blue stethoscope off her neck.
My mind wondered whether she had that precise medical gear when she lived with her partner.
The doctor steps away from my bed, her eyebrows furrowed, and she re-hangs her stethoscope. She then takes a little flashlight from her new white coat pocket and flashes it into my eyes. The light goes out, leaving me confused for a time. David is rubbing my hips with just enough pressure to alleviate the tension in my body. My body presses towards his chiseled chest.
"Everything seems normal," Josephine adds. "I'll keep an eye on you tonight."
The only trace of her is the scornful bleach aroma.
David, who is still pressing up against me, takes his hands from my waist and softly lifts my chin to allow me to see him.
Tell me. I could tell you didn't have a regular nightmare.
My lungs ache. He knows. My stitched skin throbs from my head's odd position, so I reposition my body to face David, ignoring the blankets that collapsed about my legs.
The truth falls from my lips like water from David's anxious gaze and wrinkled brows.
"I was in the woods, the pack's area, in spring. A chilly wind warms. I recall seeing corpses right in front of me. Torn corpses. Blood was still streaming from the limbs as they moved and reformed into bodies. I attempted to flee as they approached, but my feet were bonded into the forest's dirt.
"The odor was horrendous, powerful and pervasive. They continued yelling my name as they approached, laughing and calling me weak. "I awoke." I end. My dream is average. It felt so genuine.
