Alphas regret: Magnificent Return of the Rejected Luna -
Rejected Luna 34
Chapter 34
I arrived at the school gate to pick up Joanne and Joey as I usually did. The air was cool, carrying the faint scent of fallen leaves, and the sound of children's chatter filled the atmosphere. I scanned the small crowd of parents and guardians, my eyes searching for my girls. Just as I spotted them through the crowd, my attention was drawn to someone unexpected-Silas. Silas stood near the school gate, tall and commanding as always. His presence made me pause for a moment. What was he doing here? I approached him, curious but cautious. "Silas?" I called out, catching his attention. "What are you doing here?"
He turned to me, a faint smile playing on his lips. "I thought I'd come along and see your daughters," he said simply. "I'm interested in them."
His answer caught me off guard. "Interested in them? Why?" I asked, narrowing my eyes slightly.
He tilted his head, his expression unreadable. "You mentioned before how much they resemble my daughters... my late daughters. I wanted to see them for myself, up close."
His words hung in the air, heavy with unspoken pain. I nodded slowly, unsure of how to respond.
As we stood there, I decided to offer him the truth, the explanation that had been lingering in my mind.
"Well," I began carefully, "Joanne and Joey look like your twin daughters because of me. I resemble Rowena, your ex-wife, don't I? That must be why."
Silas didn't reply immediately. His gaze seemed distant, lost in thoughts that I couldn't quite reach.
Before I could press further, the school bell rang, signaling the end of the day.
A stream of children poured out, their laughter and excitement breaking the moment of silence between us.
"Mommy!" Joanne's voice rang out as she and Joey sprinted toward me.
They threw their small arms around me, their faces bright with happiness. I held them close, the warmth of their embrace grounding me. Silas stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the girls. "Do you know who I am?" he asked them gently, crouching slightly to meet their gaze.
Both Joanne and Joey stared at him with curious but unfamiliar eyes.
They shook their heads, their innocence apparent. "No," Joey said, her voice clear and honest.
Silas's face fell, a flicker of disappointment crossing his features.
He straightened up, his gaze shifting to me. "Children don't lie, do they?" I said softly, watching him carefully.
He sighed and looked away. "No, they don't," he admitted. "It's just... my daughters used to cling to me all the time. They adored me."
The pain in his voice was unmistakable. I waited, sensing there was more he wanted to say.
"I handed them over to the kidnappers," he confessed quietly.
"I thought I was doing the right thing, trading them for Billy. But it cost them their lives. I'll never forgive myself."
His words were heavy with regret, and for a moment, I didn't know how to respond.
I reached out, placing a hand on his arm. "I'm sorry," I said softly. "That must be a pain no one can truly understand."
He nodded, his jaw tight. "It is," he murmured.
To break the somber mood, Silas suggested we all have dinner together.
Joanne and Joey were quick to agree, their faces lighting up at the idea. 12:33

We headed to a nearby restaurant, where the girls tucked into their meals with enthusiasm. Silas watched them with a soft smile, his gaze lingering on their small, focused faces as they ate. "They're wonderful children," he said to me, his voice warm.
"They are," I agreed, my heart swelling with pride.
After dinner, Silas surprised us all with another suggestion. "How about a trip to the amusement park?" he asked, his eyes twinkling.
Before I could protest, Joanne and Joey let out excited squeals. "Yes! Please, Mommy! Can we go?" they begged, their faces glowing with anticipation.
I hesitated, considering the late hour. But then I thought about how long it had been since I'd taken them anywhere fun.
"Alright," I said finally. "Just for a little while."
girls cheered, and we headed to the amusement park.
The moment we arrived, Joanne and Joey took off, their laughter echoing as they ran from one ride to another.
Silas and I stood off to the side, watching them with quiet smiles.
"They're so happy," he said, his voice low.
Silas turned to me then, his expression serious. "I need to ask you something," he said.
I met his gaze, feeling a sense of unease. "What is it?"
He took a deep breath. "Would you consider becoming my Luna?"
The question caught me completely off guard. My mouth opened, but no words
Silas continued before I could respond.
"Lena isn't fit to hold that position anymore," he said firmly.
at first.
"She's been locked up, and I need someone strong, someone who can stand by my side. You would make an incredible Luna."
