Chapter 36

Crystal’s P.O.V.

“These are the accounts books of the past five years that you asked, Crystal,” Nathan put down all the files that he was carrying in his embrace at one side of my table. I had my table in Theo’s office from where I decided to do my work. “Thanks, Nathan,” I thanked him with a genuine smile, but he shrank his nose. annoyingly. “I really don’t understand how will you manage to look after the work of both the packs, Crystal. It will exhaust you,” he said in a concerned tone, and my smile widened immediately.

“I know, Nathan, but it excites me,” I answered him, and he sighed in defeat. “Anyways….. Come downstairs soon. They are going to have third round of the alpha’s meeting in an hour,” he informed me, and I only nodded to him in response this time.

He then walked out of the office, and I started sorting out all the files. I had so much work to finish from my parental pack, but I didn’t want to slack on my duties here too. So, I decided to look into the financial statements of the past five years before starting working on this year.

“After finishing sorting them, I stood up, and took them in my embrace. I went behind my chair, and put them on the shelf that I emptied for them. At the same time, I heard a knock on the door. “Come in, William, I am alone,” I said to my brother who was standing on the other side of the door. He opened the door, and I continued doing my work.

“I asked Vincent to send you everything in digital form. You will get everything by evening today,” he informed me, and I nodded in confirmation while finishing my work.

“Are you sure that you want to stay here now?” he asked me after some time, and I looked back at him in confusion this time, stopping my work. He looked worried. and sad. I smiled and went to my brother. “Will you miss me?” I asked him innocently while stopping in front of him.

Originally we planned that I would go back with William and my parents to the Blood Moon Pack after my Luna ceremony, and would finish my training there. But after the ceremony, the king, my biological father, asked me to stay here as our wolves would weaken due to the distance between us.

According to them, we were ancient wolves who would stay strong in close proximity. Everyone in our family then decided to let me stay here. Alpha Adrian was my instructor, and both my fathers and Theo’s father said that they would talk to him about my training.

He didn’t answer me but pulled me into his embrace. “You are our baby, Crystal. I am happy that you are with your mate now, and we all know Theo all our life, but he answered me in a worried tone, but trailed off in the end, taking a deep

breath.

“I closed my eyes while snuggling into his chest. William is like a second father figure to me. I still thank my stars that it was Mom and Dad who picked me up from that forest. If it wasn’t for Theo being my mate, I am sure that they wouldn’t let us know the truth about me. They pampered me so much, but they never spoiled me. I was their princess, but they still taught me how to stay

down-to-earth.

“I will be okay, brother…. And you are only a few hours’ drive away from me. I am sure that I can come back to you at any time.” I comforted him in a gentle tone, and his grip tightened on my waist. He slowly moved his hands towards my shoulders and slowly stroked my back.

We stayed in the same before heading for the meeting, brother,” I told

for a good few minutes before I moved away from

him. “I have a few things to

him when I realized that I didn’t have much time left. “Let me help you,” he said. and I nodded to him.

After that, we both finished the whole work within a few minutes, and I was now quite satisfied with the setting. He knew my preferences, and how I liked to keep things in order. We were about to head towards the door, and when I smelled Theo. I smiled while shaking my head.

“He is really clingy,” William shrank his nose in displeasure, making me chuckle at his remark. Theo opened the door and raised his brows when he saw William and me together. “What are you doing here?” he asked William while walking towards

me.

William immediately pulled me into his side embrace, a little further from Theo, making Theo frown immediately. “Why? Can’t I be with my sister, huh?” William questioned him instead of answering him.

I didn’t want to be the subject of a fight between them because this was not the first time that they were going to fight over me. Mom, and Aunt Sylvia always told me how they both fought to keep me in their embraces whenever we were together when we were young.

She is now my mate, William,” Theo said to William in a frustrated tone. “She is still my sister, Theo. My relationship with her is deeper than yours,” William protested immediately, tightening his grip on my shoulder.

Enough, guys… we have a meeting to attend, and we don’t want to keep our king waiting for us, do we?” I immediately stopped them when Theo was about to fight back. Both of them glared at each other but William started walking towards the door with me in his embrace.

“Hey, William…. this is not fair. She is my mate,” Theo whined behind me, making me giggle this time. Luna also laughed at the back of my mind. William didn’t answer me but kept on walking ahead with me. “Ask your brother to leave you, Theo mind-linked me immediately, still whining.

As you said. He is my elder brother, the second father to me. Do you think that

I have the courage to ask him to leave me, huh? Just because my mate wants to be with me?” I asked him in a teasing tone.

“Don’t you dare to mind link her, Theo… Mate or not… I will not allow anyone to bully my princess,” William threatened him in a cold tone, and I laughed this time. Theo growled lowly, showing his disappointment, but it didn’t faze me. “Who is the bully here? You think anyone can bully her, huh? She is the bully,” Theo protested immediately while coming beside me, William shot daggers at him through his eyes but didn’t say anything this time.

I was really glad that William didn’t reply to him because, at the same time, everyone present in the living room looked at us. They could feel the tension between Theo, and William, but neither of them questioned anything.

“Is everything okay, honey?” Aunt Sylvia immediately asked me while eyeing both William and Theo. “Yes, Mom… everything is fine… let’s head to the meeting, I answered her in a calm tone and moved away from William’s embrace. Theo was about to grab me, when Aunt Sylvia pulled me towards her. “Control yourself, youngman. She may be your mate, but she is still our daughter,” Aunt Sylvia warned him in a stern tone, and I felt like I would burst into laughter any time. It was really hard to resist your laughter when you wanted to laugh aloud. “Mom!” Theo whined, and she just shrank her nose, showing her annoyance to him. “Let’s go, honey. He can whin the whole time to my care,” she said while dragging me towards the meeting room. I was still in her side embrace. “What’s wrong with you people? Why everyone is adamant to keep my mate away from me,” Theo murmured but it was loud enough to be heard by everyone around us. I blushed harder in embarrassment, and lowered my eyes. I couldn’t believe that Theo was really this clingy. I smiled at Killian when I reached the meeting room. He was sitting with our father near the his chair. He stood up while passing at

smile to me.

“Hey, princess….. how are you?” he asked me in a brotherly tone while pulling me into his embrace. I wrapped my hands around his torso, hugging me back. “I am fine, brother… how are you?” I asked him in a low and loving tone. Everyone around us knew that Killian treated me like his sister, and that was why, no one was surprised to see the interaction between us.

Now can I have my mate back?” I huffed and looked at Theo over my shoulder when he whined again. “What? Can’t she stay with her brother, huh?” Killian protested immediately while pulling me into his side embrace. Theo looked sol pitiful as if he would start cry any time soon.

Everyone in the room chuckled lightly, making Theo frowned deeply. I also giggled while shaking my head. “Enough teasing him, Killian…let’s start the meeting, the king instructed us in a gentle but firm tone. Killian grimaced while glaring at Theo, but released me from his embrace.

You know that you can come to me any time if he bullies you, right?” Killian sked me in a concerned tone, and I nodded while smiling widely. “What’s wrong

with you all, huh? Don’t you know that she is a bully,” Theo whined again, and I glared at him this time. “So what, huh? She has us… her brothers…. she can bully to anyone,” William answered him this time, and I burst into laughter.

Theo wanted to fight back, but the king cleared his throat, indicating that we should stop bickering. I slowly walked to Theo, and he immediately wrapped his hand around my shoulder. “I should glue you with me,” he murmured, and I sighed helplessly. “Let’s go,” I said to him, and he just hummed while dragging me with him.

We all took our seats, and I took a deep breath before looking back at the king. We were going to discuss about the situation with vampires as a few packs complained about frequent attacks by not only the rogue vampires but some coven vampires too. It was a serious matter, and I also felt that the king had to take a serious step to prevent these attacks.

The pack who had been attacked by those vampires, started giving their reports, explaining how worse the situation was around their packs. After listening to their reports, everyone requested the king to arrange a meeting with the king of vampires about this. The rogue vampires were a problem for both the kingdoms. but their king could control the coven vampires.

“I think that the matter is deeper than it seems on the surface,” suddenly Luna said in a serious tone. I also had the same feeling, but I didn’t want to say something as I was the youngest Luna in the room. I decided to talk about this with Killian later in the night. Could it be possible that these rogues had something to do with my mother’s disappearance?
