Alpha’s Rejected Second Chance Mate by Pradeep -
Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Theo’s POV (Continued)
“I don’t know what game fate is playing with us, Crystal. But you are not staying away from me from now on. If… if the Moon Goddess has given you as my mate, then I must accept her decision,” I said to her in a calm tone. All I wanted right now was to make her understand that we are together in this. There must be a solution to this problem.
“Thunder also agrees with me. He wants you to stay calm and trust us,” I also told her what Thunder told me. She smiled faintly and nodded, making me blow a breath of relief internally. We started walking again, and I took her to the back seat of my car John and Daniel looked at me in confusion, but I didn’t pay any attention to them. We were talking in a very low tone and were far away from them. I was sure that they didn’t hear our conversation.
“Ask her about her wolf, Theo I am not able to contact her. She is blocking me,” Thunder told me in a worried tone, but I was surprised to hear him. We were alphas, and there was no way a wolf lower than our rank could block us.
“I will… But not now… she will be in dilemma too,” I comforted him, and he sighed in defeat before retreating back.
I entered the car behind her. She was sitting at a distance from me, and I didn’t like this distance between us. I wrapped my hand around her shoulders and pulled her closer to me. She looked at me in confusion.
“Close your eyes and rest for a while. I will wake you up when we reach there,” I instructed her in a gentle tone because she was looking tired right now.
“Are you mad at me?” she asked me in a low tone.
“No… why would I be?” I asked her in a low and calm tone and rubbed her arm gently
“I ran away the next second I realized that… that,” she answered me in a low tone but trailed off her statement in the end. I smiled and took a deep breath.
“Yes… for that I am mad at you. You made me feel that I am not worthy of you the way you reacted. I could see pain and disappointment on your face. I… I felt th.. that I am not the mate you were expecting for you,” I answered her truthfully in a calm tone about what came into my mind when she turned back on her heels.
She looked up at me apologetically. “I am sorry, she whispered apologetically.
“It’s just… I was in shock wh.. when I felt that you are my mate, and you know the reason,” she said to me in whispers again. I couldn’t tell what I was feeling right now. All I wanted was to k*ss her hard so that she could forget everything for a while. I saw her gulping hard when her eyes flickered between my eyes and my l*ps. I felt a twitch in my pants, and it was really embarrassing. The problem was that I could feel that she also wanted to k*ss me. The bond was getting stronger with every passing second due to our proximity, and it was making me insane now.
“Don’t tempt me, Crystal. It’s really hard for me to keep myself in control, and not k*ss you right now. You know that I can feel your emotions too now, and I know that you also want to k*ss me, I teased her in a husky tone at the end. She immediately lowered her head but I saw a blush on her cheeks.
Goddess she was looking so beautiful and tempting right now. She put her hand on my chest and snuggled lightly. making my heart thump loudly against my ribcage. One thing I knew now was that I was not going to reject her. Sister or not, she was chosen by the Moon Goddess as my mate. I was determined to replace the solution to this problem as soon as possible and rejection was certainly not a solution for me.
Soon she drifted into sleep, making me sigh helplessly. I k*ssed her forehead lightly and closed my eyes too. “Her wolf is strong. Theo. She is still resisting me, but I am trying hard to talk to her,” Thunder complained in frustration, I couldn’t blame him, though. The situation that we had in front of us right now was all against us, and her wolf should be devastated just like Crystal was
“She will come around soon, Thunder. Give her some time,” I comforted him in a defeated tone. He sighed in pain but didn’t say anything for a few minutes, and I welcomed this silence. I needed to talk with my parents first.
They were about to go to Crystal’s pack the day after tomorrow to attend the ceremony. They could talk to Crystal’s parents about this. We all believed in fated mates, and I am sure that they would understand us. “It doesn’t matter to me if anyone is with me on this or not, but I am not going to reject my fated mate at any cost,” Thunder spoke again in a firm tone, making me groan in frustration. He really frustrates me sometimes.
Crystal’s POV
“Crystal… Wake up… Wake up, I slowly opened my eyes when I heard someone asking me to wake up. I was sleepy and wanted to sleep more, but this person was hell adamant about waking me up. Theo’s handsome face came in front of me. and I opened my eyes completely. The sparks made me recall everything that happened before I fell asleep. I immediately straightened my back. “We are about to reach home,” he said in a light tone, making me nod once.
I looked out and smiled to see the familiar scenery. This place was my second home, and if… if everything goes in our favor, then it will be my home in the future. I had already gone through one rejection, and I was not ready to face another rejection when my mate was not ready to reject me. I was still in a dilemma, but scared of rejection.
“Silvia,” I chirped, and I ran towards my aunt after the car stopped in front of the pack house and I saw her standing at the door of the pack house. She smiled widely and spread her hands in the air. I threw myself into her embrace, and she embraced me while laughing aloud.
“I miss you so much,” I told her truthfully. I was busy with school and other stuff and didn’t get time to come here for more than a year
“I miss you too, Crystal. You just forgot that you also have an aunt who loves you so much,” she complained to me, and I smiled widely while taking a deep breath, filling my nostrils with her comforting scent.
We stayed in the same state for a while, and then she slowly released me from her embrace, She k*ssed my forehead and stroked my face gently.
“You have become more beautiful than you were earlier,” she complimented, and I blushed harder.
“You always said the same thing.” I answered her shyly, lowering my head. She laughed and then took me into her side embrace.
I
“Let’s go… I am sure that you are hungry now,” she said to me, and I beamed happily. She was a great cook, and I really loved her cooking
“I am hungry too, I stiffened when Theo spoke behind me. Silvia narrowed her eyes in confusión at him.
“I ate dinner almost three hours ago… Now I am hungry again,” he said again. Silvia nodded and then looked at me. I looked in the other direction and took a deep breath.
“Come on,” Silvia ushered me, still keeping me in her embrace and we all walked inside the pack house.
“Nate,” I ran towards Nate when I saw him in the living room while screaming happily.
“Crystal,” he beamed, and he came forward towards me. I was about to jump on him when suddenly Theo embraced me from behind and a low growl emerged from his throat, startling everyone in the room, including Uncle Sylvester, Theo’s father.
I sighed and looked at Theo helplessly.
“What’s wrong, Theo?” Nate asked him in confusion, but my heart started beating furiously. I lowered my head in Theo’s embrace, as I didn’t know how to explain the situation between me and Theo. Theo’s possessiveness over me was enough to give them some doubt about us. This possessiveness was not brotherly.
“She is my mate,” Theo announced without hesitation and I lowered my head more almost my chin touching my chest. “What?” I heard everyone yelling in shock and I closed my eyes.
“What are we going to do, Luna?” I asked my wolf in a sad tone. “Thunder is not ready to reject us, Crystal. He succeeded in breaking the block that I put between us. I also don’t want to go through the rejection again,” she answered me in a sad and low tone.
“Sh… she is your cousin, Theo. You must have some misunderstanding,” Nate spoke this time in a baffled tone.
“I know that she is my cousin, but I didn’t have any misunderstandings. The Moon Goddess gave her to me as my mate,” Theo answered him in a firm tone while holding me tightly in his embrace.
“Theo, I can’t breathe,” said to him in a low tone when his grip tightened around my torso, almost making me difficult to breathe. He immediately loosened his grip on me.
“I… I am sorry, he apologized and I slowly opened my eyes.
“Crystal,” I slowly looked up when uncle Sylvester called my name.
“Is he saying the truth?” he asked me in a firm but gentle tone. I nodded and lowered my eyes again. I asked Theo not to open his mouth before we figured out what exactly happened. Yet he announced it as soon as he felt threatened by Nate–typical mate behaviour.
“How can this be possible?” I heard Uncle Sylvester say it in surprise.
“1… I am also shocked… my… my wolf confirmed,” I answered him briefly. I heard him sighing and it made me feel bad for everything. I came here so that I could go away from my misery and pain for some days, and now I was in more pain, I was now sure that Theo had to reject me no matter how determined he was to accept me.
“We will talk about this in the morning. If… If their wolves confirmed this, then there is no way that we can deny this,” I heard Silvia saying to someone.
“But Silvia,” I pursed my l*ps when Uncle Sylvester protested.
“But what Sylvester… do you want Theo to reject his fated mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess, just because she is his cousin, huh?” Silvia argued back, and a tear dropped from my eyes.
“Hey hey, girl… I didn’t mean that honey.” I heard Uncle Sylvester panicking.
“Wh.. what happened?” Theo immediately asked me in a panic tone, cupped my face and lifted my head up.
I sniffed harder this time, not able to control my emotions anymore.”
“See what you did, Sylvester. You made her cry” Silvia scolded her mate and came near to me immediately. My eyes were still closed, but tears were now streaming like rain.
“… I am sorry…I.. I didn’t mean this, Crystal…. Th.. this is not your fault, honey. I am sorry, I heard Uncle Sylvester say to me in an apologetic tone. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at him.
“I don’t know what to do, Uncle Sylvester….. I am j… just scared,” I answered him in a choked tone and then hid my face in Theo’s chest. His grip on me tightened a little again, but that was still comfortable.
“We will think about it later. Right now… go and freshen up… I will reheat the food for you. Just remember that we are together in this, I heard Silvia instructing me, and comforted me in the end too.
“Nate… ask someone to get her bags from the car, and make arrangements for the warriors came with her,” she instructed Nate in a firm tone after that.
“Let’s go.” Theo said to me, slowly releasing me from his embrace. I nodded, and without looking at anyone, I followed him towards the stairs. He was still holding my hand, and it was now annoying me.
1 told you not to tell anyone about us,” I scolded him in a hushed tone when we crossed the third floor.
“Then why did you have to jump on him?” he scolded me back in a hushed tone, and I widened my eyes in disbelief. “He is like a brother to me, Theo, and I always met him like this, I retorted back in the same hushed tone. “That was past. I didn’t know back then that you were my mate. Now you will not embrace any other wolf. You have to keep your distance from everyone,” Theo commanded me, and Luna immediately stood up at the back of my mind and snarled angrily, making me angry too.
