Chapter 80

Adam’s P.O.V.

I stared at the leech coldly, who had a smug look on his face as if he had told me something to my advantage. “You heard me, Adam. She is also a hybrid,” he said, repeating what he said earlier with that same smug smirk on his face.

I slowly moved my head in a straight direction towards the roof and closed. my eyes. “So what if she is, huh? I have no interest in her,” I spat in a cold tone without worrying about what he could do to me. I was already turned into at vampire. What else could he do worse with me than this?

“So you don’t have any interest in her, huh? Don’t you want to take revenge on her?” he asked me in a curious tone. I smirked internally. He was trying to get a reaction out of me. “You are keeping me locked here all the time. How I am supposed to take my revenge, huh?” I asked him in the same cold tone instead. of answering him. I knew that he was here with some other motives than having a chat with me.

“I can help you, and you know this,” he said further, and I scoffed openly this time. “Don’t waste your breath on me, Marcus. I am not going to work with you,” I replied to him in the same cold tone without open my eyes. “I thought that you have a strong resolution to kill that she–wolf and her mate for putting you in so much pain,” he continued in a sarcastic tone and now my patience was wavering.

“What she did to me is business between me and her. I am still resolute to take my revenge on her, but I don’t need your help.” I answered him in a cold tone. “You have no wolf now, Adam. I gave you a favor by turning into a stronger creature than you were earlier,” he immediately confronted me. I snapped my head towards him angrily, and his eyes widened in shock.

I slowly got u

up while locking my gaze on him. “Did I ask you to do me this. favour, huh? I am nothing but a prisoner here. You turned me into a monster like you for your own gain. There is nothing here that can benefit me,” I

snarled at him while standing up on my feet. I was still shackled with a silver chain. Little did he know that silver now didn’t work on me as effectively as it worked on a werewolf.

“You lost your wolf because of her, leaving you to be a weak and pathetic human. I made you strong and unbeatable. You should be grateful to me

instead of making complaints,” he answered to me in a cold tone, and I laughed aloud mockingly while shaking my head furiously.

You did a favour to me, huh? What a lame joke it is,” I mocked him while laughing hard. I knew that I was a lot stronger than I was when I had my wolf with me. I still missed Neo though. We went through so much to prove ourselves as an alpha in the alpha academy. He was half of my soul.

However, there is no benefit in crying over spilled milk now. I was now a hybrid but different from others. My cravings for blood were also different from others. It had been a whole month since I accepted my fate here. According to what I learned from the guards, no hybrid survived more than twenty days. It was a miracle that I was still alive.

I stopped in front of him while looking at him with a cold gaze.

“We should

work together to bring them down. They don’t deserve a ruler like them. You should be on the throne instead of that pathetic excuse of your king who wasn’t able to defend her mate too,” he said further in an angry tone while. spitting bitterly about the king. The corner of my l*ps curled up immediately. He was trying to lure me, giving me the idea of me being on the throne. He really underestimated me.

“You want me to help you, but you don’t want me out. How am I supposed to reach them while being in this dungeon, huh?” I asked him in a low throaty

locking my gaze on him. If he wanted to play a game with me, then I was already ready to make him realize his place now.

“I am going to attack the Royal Pack in the next two days. I am sure that Crystal will come to the royal pack out of her loyalty towards the king, and then you can kill both Crystal and that prince who banished you from your pack and made you reject your chosen mate,” he told me in a cold tone, still glaring at me.

“What if I refuse to help you, huh?” I challenged him, and he trembled hard in anger. I could say that he wanted to kill me right now. “Then rot here until you. die,” he gritted his teeth and stormed out of the dungeon, making me scoff again. They fed me five days ago, but I threw up the blood that I drank from a bag. That was human blood. My stomach was still churning at the mere thought of that liquid inside my mouth.

After that, they fed me with both a werewolf and a hybrid blood but I vomited

them too. I was still strong and didn’t feel even an ounce of weakness in me. I was eating food without any problem when no other hybrid managed to event digest a single bite. I knew that something was different in me from the other hybrids, but I really didn’t know what that was.

I took a deep breath and came back to the place where I was lying earlier. During my stay here, I pondered everything that happened to me and my chosen mate. My father was a fierce alpha, and he earned a name in our community. It was on me that I ruined his reputation and humiliated him in front of all the alphas and Lunas. He never asked me to pull that stunt of ‘choosing a mate when I had a fated mate already.

I blamed everyone else for everything bad that happened to me, but now I realized that I dug this grave for myself. I had nothing to do here. So, 1 thought about everything from my childhood to the day when I was banished. from my pack. My mother’s heartbroken, tear–stained face was still haunting me whenever I fell asleep.

We were doing fine. My pack was one of the top ten strongest packs in our world. My father was respected by the whole community. It was my ambition. that ruined everything in the end. I didn’t know what happened to my parents. I hated William for challenging me, but he did nothing wrong. My father was still his alpha at that time, and he did that to protect his alpha. He was my best friend, and I had no doubt in his loyalty as a friend to me. He got the position because my father chose him as his heir. He didn’t ask him to do

I put my hand on my chest, right above the place where my heart was. It was still beating strongly. It was odd enough that it shouldn’t be so strong. They said that other hybrids lost their sanity, and

I shuddered hard in fear when this thought crossed my mind. I couldn’t deny that I still cared about that stupid girl, despite my hatred for her. If she hadn’t hidden about her wolf, we would have had a happy life together. I opened my eyes and narrowed them when it hit me. Crystal was also a hybrid. How could it be possible? Did Marcus do something to her?

My heart skipped so many beats in a row when the fear engulfed it. It was fear related to Crystal’s safety. She might be the strongest legendary wolf, but she

was one stupid girl. She was easy to coax and easy to manipulate. I sat up and looked towards the cell’s door. I needed to get out of here. I needed to know what happened to her. I still hated her but it didn’t mean that I would let anyone torment her or cause any trouble for her.

I glanced into the corner where they had fixed a camera to keep an eye on me. I knew that he was still looking at me. I was inside the royal coven of the vampires. It wouldn’t be easy for me to run away on my own. I needed to

think of a way to get out of there. The thought of accepting Marcus’s proposal crossed my mind, but I shrugged it off immediately. Marcus was a no fool. He was cunning.

I took a deep breath and decided to make a plan to go out of this dungeon first. I was strong, but didn’t know what my strength was now. I needed to replace out all my abilities first before making a plan. I lowered my eyes when I sensed someone coming towards me. I knew the person. He was a guard who brought food for me from time to time.

“Hey, Adam….. How are you feeling today?” he asked me as soon as he reached. the door. His tone was as always cheerful. I didn’t know how did he get this job with his cheerful nature? As usual, I didn’t respond to him. “Look what I brought for you today?” he continued and I felt like killing him for being so nosy.

“Hey.” He called me once again after a few seconds when I didn’t respond to him. “You surely will like this meal,” he continued and now I raised my eyes towards him. I knitted my brows lightly when I saw him being cautious I slowly got up and walked towards him while keeping my eyes on him. What was Marcus up to now? Did he ask him to play cautious to me?

He smiled widely. “I knew that you would like this rare medium steak,” he chirped, and I was now completely confused. I didn’t remember that I told anyone here about my likings and dislikes related to food, especially about my liking towards steak. In other words, I only ate steak whenever I was with William and Crystal. Both siblings had a different level of liking for medium- rare cooked steak.

“You should eat this, or else it will not be eatable in a few hours.” He said to me jokingly but gave me a knowing look. My heart skipped so many beats in a row when I registered his words. He smiled weakly and just gave me a curt nod, indicating that I was thinking right. He raised the plate towards me, and I took the plate from him. He just lowered his lids looking at my plate. The

The guards went away, and I came back to my place once again in a daze. Was she insane? What is she thinking right now? How could she come here to save me? I started eating the steak, and a familiar taste hit my taste buds, bringing tears to my eyes. I rejected her for my ambition. Still, she was taking a dangerous risk in her life by coming here. I wanted to tell her not to come here…. I wanted to tell her to stay safe… but I had no way to contact her…

Due to some unknown reasons, I was now looking forward to seeing her. It could be because I was alone here for more than a month, and now wanted to see someone familiar to me. I didn’t want her to put her life in danger for me, but a part of me wanted to see her so badly now… to be with me…
