Chapter 91

William’s P.O.V.

My heart almost stopped beating for a few seconds, and Vincent gasped aloud in horror when Cynthia asked that dreaded question. What if something bad was really happening to Crystal’s mother? I shuddered hard, and my wolf, Aero, growled aloud in anger.

Crystal went pale in horror in front of my eyes, making me grip the armrest of my chair tightly. When I said to Theo that she is not only my sister but a daughter to me, I meant my words. Both I and Aero have been overly protective and possessive towards Crystal ever since she entered our lives. “If… if Crystal had different abilities than other hybrids… th.. then we.. we can assume th.. that the queen Catherine a.. also can have s.. some different abilities.” Vincent said while stuttering hard.

I stared at Crystal blankly. I wasn’t ready to lose my sister in this battle. We would lose this battle even before it started if something happened to Crystal. What was the use of destroying that leech if Crystal wouldn’t be with us?

Killian’s expression of horror changed into a murderous one within a second. “You mean to say that it can be a possibility that he is now using my mother as a blood bank for his new experiment?” he asked angrily and shot daggers at both Vincent and Cynthia while looking between the screen and Cynthia’s face.

“Calm down, brother… it’s their assumption, but they can be right,” Crystal asked him in a cracked tone, closing her eyes. She was almost on the verge of crying. “I… I am sorry,” Cynthia said in a low tone, lowering her eyes. “Hey… you said nothing wrong, Cynthia. You are right. In the present conditions, anything can be possible, and your concern is genuine,” Crystal comforted Cynthia while throwing a dagger at Killian through her eyes. She might be weak, but she is strong enough to make any wolf submit to her, even when she is in front of us in virtual mode, and we three are her brothers.

“I am sorry, my love… I don’t mean to hurt you,” Killian immediately comforted Cynthia while hugging her in his side embrace. I shouldn’t think like this in this state, but I really envied both Theo and Killian. I. Theo, and Killian were in the same age group. Now they had their mates in their embraces, while I was still waiting for her to meet me.

“Control yourself, brother… you are giving yourself away.” Vincent scolded me through the mind link. I cleared my throat and masked my emotions immediately. “We need to come up with a strong plan within two days to bring my mother back,” Crystal said in a serious and weak tone after some time. “I think… we first need to alert all the packs for any upcoming rogue’s or vampire’s attack on their packs. He… he needs a new army to fight us,” Vincent said in a serious tone.

“We are not giving him the time that he needed to create an army once again. Let’s start creating trouble for him on the other side of his empire. We need to. ‘distract him first before attacking him, taking him off guard,” Killian said in a firm tone this time, still embracing Cynthia. Cynthia had lowered her eyes. The girl was not wrong, and I was really impressed with her intelligence.

“Vincent.” Suddenly, Crystal called Vincent in a low tone. I looked at my brother, who was now looking at her questioningly. “Can you replace out if he has stored any data on our mother’s health for the past eighteen years?” she asked him, and both of us knitted our brows in confusion. “What do you want to do?” Vincent asked her in a confused tone.

Crystal took a deep breath and slowly raised her head from Theo’s shoulder. “We need to know what kind of hybrid my mother is now. I. Adam. and Nelson only need a vampire’s blood to satisfy our craving for blood, but what if there is something different for her?” Crystal explained, and I groaned in frustration internally.

There were so many ifs and buts that were making me crazy now. “You can also go through the data information stored in The Night Lotus Pack,” she continued, and I took a deep breath. “That I can do, and give me a day only to hack Marcus’s systems once again,” Vincent answered her in a serious tone.

“You should rest now, kiddo,” I said to Crystal in a worried tone. She smiled weakly while looking at me. “I will brother,” she answered me, but the tiredness in her tone was clearly evident to all of us. “I think we should end this meeting now, and let her rest for a while. Meanwhile, I will inform all the packs, and William,” Killian instructed us in a serious tone, and paused after calling my name.

“Talk to Nelson, and ask him if he has any information about my mother’s health condition,” he instructed me, and I nodded in response. “Uhhh… William,” Theo spoke suddenly in a hesitant tone. I looked at him

questioningly. “Adam asked if he could talk to you,” he told me, and my jaw

clenched immediately. Vincent growled angrily, but I held his arm.

“What does he want now?” I asked him bitterly. Adam’s betrayal hit me hard when I came to know that he rejected Crystal just because she acted like a pampered girl for that spoiled brat. He refused the blessing of the Moon Goddess for nothing. “You should talk to him, brother. He also suffered a lot after leaving the pack,” Crystal persuaded me in a low tone.

Before I could say anything to her to scold her, she closed her eyes and leaned on Theo’s shoulder. My sister knew very well how to avoid my scolding. “I am tired,” she complained in a low tone, but I knew that she was giving an excuse now. “Let’s end this meeting. I will inform you, guys of the timings, for the evening meeting later,” Killian instructed us this time.

I glared at Crystal, but she didn’t open her eyes. “Alright, guys… let’s talk in the evening,” Vincent said, ending the meeting. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. To be honest, I was still having a hard to believe that my best friend betrayed me in the worst way.

What happened to him in the alpha’s academy that made him change completely? There was a time when everyb*dy called him the split image of his father and said he would be a great alpha like him in the future. Now, everyone loathed him for what he had become. He went against the Moon. Goddess’s wishes and paid a huge price.

“You should talk to him, brother. You can’t avoid him forever,” Vincent whispered, making me scoff bitterly. “After what he did to Crystal, do you think that I will be able to forgive him?” I asked him in a bitter tone while opening my eyes.

“I am not asking you to forgive him because we clearly can’t,” Vincent immediately replied to me in the same calm tone. “I am just asking you to talk to him. What he did to Crystal is unforgivable, and I will not let you forgive him at any junction of our lives in the future,” he continued, and I cocked my brow while tilting my head in surprise.

“What? She is not only your sister,” he said annoyingly, and I smiled this time. “But we can’t forget that we were friends, Vincent. He… he was like another brother to both of us,” I said while recalling our childhood and our teenage that we spent together. I, Adam, and Vincent were invincible together, and not only our pack but also the pack around us feared us. I was going to take over the Beta position, and Vincent was ready to take over the gamma position as

Alpha Adrian’s gamma didn’t have any sons.

I sighed deeply when I remembered the day when I fought with Adam. That was the worst night of my life. Not only did I lose my best friend and my brother that night, but Alpha Adrian also announced me as his heir. He knew very well what Crystal’s position was in our lives. Yet, he dares to reject her, making her bear the pain of rejection. My sister was strong and didn’t let us feel her pain, but it didn’t make me feel good.

“Do you think that Adam can be changed, brother?” Vincent asked me in a low tone after some time. I looked at him blankly, not knowing what to answer him. I really didn’t know how to answer his question. I could see pain and hope in his eyes. Deep down in our hearts, we still missed Adam. We still hoped for him to come back. I wasn’t that ambitious to backstab my best friend for the alpha position.

“You need to talk to him, brother. We can’t let him stay with Crystal for a long time. Crystal is now happy in her life with Theo. Adam’s presence there could create a mess,” Vincent said in a serious tone, and I pursed my l*ps into a thin. line because he was right. “Let’s talk about this later. We have some jobs to finish, and we also need to reconsider our plans. I don’t want any loophole that can lead to failure,” I instructed him in a calm tone, and he nodded in.

agreement.

I then stood up and walked towards the door. “Where are you going?” Vincent asked me from behind. “I am going back home,” I informed him without looking back at him. I needed to talk with my parents about Crystal’s health. They still didn’t know what was happening to Crystal, and I didn’t want to keep them in the dark for long.

“Where are you, Dad?” I asked my father through the mind link while exiting. the pack house. We were still living in our old home, as my mother didn’t want to leave that place. We had so many beautiful memories there that she wanted to keep with her until her last breath.

“In the training ground with pup,” he informed me in a calm tone. “Can you come home soon today? I need to discuss something with you,” I requested him in a cautious tone, as I didn’t want him to panic. “Is this about Crystal?” he asked me immediately, making me sigh in defeat. It was really hard to keep things hidden from him.

“Yes, dad… Something is going on with her that I need to tell you and Mom,” I‘

answered him in a low tone. “I will be there in ten,” he informed me, cutting off the mind link. I took a deep breath and braced myself for their scolding. We didn’t tell them anything that we learned about Alpha Nelson and Crystal in the past few weeks. Crystal asked us not to tell them anything until we sorted everything, but I had this feeling that it would be worse if we didn’t tell

them now.

I reached home and went straight to the living room as I heard the TV sound. My mom was sitting alone on the couch while watching something on TV. She looked at me and pouted, making me jerk my head in confusion. “What happened?” I asked her in a concerned tone while sitting on the single seat.

“When will you replace your mate, huh? All the wolves of your age in our pack and in the neighbouring pack have found their mates. Only you and Vincent are left behind. This is so boring staying alone all day,” she complained while scolding me, and I smiled gently.

“So you want me to replace my mate so that she can spend time with you and watch TV with you, huh?” I asked her in a teasing tone, and she glared hard at me. I laughed while shaking my head lightly. “I am serious, William. You are almost twenty–two. You should start searching for her,” she said in a serious tone, making me take a deep breath.

She then looked towards the door in confusion. I cleared my throat while moving my face towards my father, who entered the living room. “What happened to Crystal?” he asked me in a stern, but worried tone. “What? What are you talking about? What happened to her?” My mother yelled in panic, and Dad reached her immediately.

“Calm down, Martha… everything is okay… don’t panic.” He immediately embraced her and comforted her in a calm tone, but I could feel his anxiety too. “But.. but,” Mom tried to say something, but her voice choked as she was now hell worried for my sister.

“She is okay, Mom… it’s just that something really weird and unpredictable happened with both Crystal and……. (I trailed while looking at them seriously, contemplating whether to tell them about Adam or not)…. And Adam,” I said to her, deciding to tell them about him too as they also loved him like their own son. She gasped aloud in horror while holding my father tightly. Her eyes widened to the extent that I felt that they would pop out of the socket soon.

“Tell us everything, William. I am having this feeling that you guys hid

everything from us for a long period of time. I will talk about that later. For tell us what exactly happened to our daughter first.” Dad asked me in a

stern tone, making me gulp hard.
