Chapter 95

Adam’s POV

I wanted to cry my heart out right now. I wanted to embrace Martha to feel the motherly love and trust that she was entrusting to me right now. I was overwhelmed, and at the same time, my heart was filled with guilt for what I did to Crystal back then, Martha was a second mother to me, and the way she looked at me with an expression of hurt, pain, and betrayal when I left the pack, I never thought that she would forgive me and even fought with my father for me just like she always did when I was young.

I was holding her in my embrace from behind, while she was holding my hands on her upper chest as if something would happen if she loosen her grip on me. My throat was completely clogged as I was overwhelmed with all the emotions that I was feeling right now. I lost hope of getting the love of my family back, but the way she was arguing with my father while holding me securely, I once again felt the same love and care that I always had felt in the

past

“I agreed with Martha, Adrian,” my mother suddenly said in a serious and cracked tone. I snapped my head toward her in shock. “You too, Elena?” my father asked her in disbelief. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She stood up from the chair while looking calmly at my father after opening her

eyes.

She was a great mother, but she was always a Luna before a mother. She loves me so much but she never defended me in front of my father whenever I made any mistake. My heart skipped a beat and my grip on Martha tightened.

“Yes, Adrian… I agree with Martha. Adrian has already got his punishment for not respecting the Moon Goddess’s decision. He suffered more than that, and now he needs his family beside him, and I am willing to stand by his side,” Mom said in a calm, but firm tone. “I want my son back in my embrace, Adrian. I am his mother. I can’t see him in pain when he is not at fault,” she continued in the same tone, and I felt tears in my eyes this time.

There was silence in the room for a good few seconds. I don’t know how to react right now. All the resentment, hatred, and grudge that I had against them in my heart vanished into thin air. I looked back at my father and found him staring at my mother with the same expression of disbelief.

“Dad” Crystal called him in a tired tone, breaking that thick silence. We all looked in her direction. She was lying in Theo’s embrace. “Forgive him, dad… be needs us,” she said in a tired tone, taking my side. She had been continuously asking my dad to forgive me since the day she brought me here.

Dad sighed aloud and looked at me with a defeated expression. I lowered my eyes while pursing my l*ps. He said nothing but walked out of the room. I felt a squeeze in my heart. I couldn’t deny that I wanted him to forgive me. I wanted him to accept me in his life again. It seemed that I lost my father forever.

“Don’t worry, son. He will come around soon. He is your father, and he loves you so much,” Martha comforted me while moving towards me in my embrace. A bitter smile crept on my l*ps, but I didn’t lift my eyes up. Deep down in my heart. I knew that he would never forgive me.

“Yes, Adam. He never showed his love towards you, but he loves you more than anything in this world, not even me. Mom said in a calm tone, making me look up at her with tearful eyes. “Hey… What are you doing, huh? Crying like a baby?” Martha teased me in a worried tone while cupping my face. I sniffed and hid my face in the crook of her n*eck.

“Hey everything is going to be okay, love….. You don’t worry… I am here,” she comforted me in the same way that she used to do in the past. It was when I broke down. I embraced her tightly while crying like a baby in her embrace. When I was in Marcus’s captivity. I didn’t know how many times I wanted someone to tell me that everything was going to be okay. I wanted someone to comfort me, but no one was there.

She held me tightly and kept stroking the back of my head. “I am sorry, Martha… I am really sorry.” I apologized while crying bitterly. “It’s okay… it’s okay.. everything is okay now. She comforted me again in a gentle tone, still stroking the back of my head.

“I am sorry fo.. for everything, Martha… I am really sorry.” I kept on apologizing while holding her tightly. “Ssshhhhhh…. Calm down… calm down, son… calm down.” She kept on comforting me. I didn’t know for how long I cried, but I was glad that she let me cry on her shoulder. She let me vent all my anger, and guilt out of my chest.

“Sit down, Adam.” I heard my mother asking me to sit in a choked tone. Martha, then slowly pushed me down, and I let him guide my b*dy. She made

me sit on a chair, and I kept hiding my face inside her chest. It had been six days since I was here, but this was the first time that I felt like I returned to my home.

“Mom.” I heard Theo calling his mother in a worried tone. I didn’t lift my head though, as I was still a crying mess. “What is it, son?” His mother asked in a worried tone. “I need to attend an urgent meeting. Crystal, however, will stay back and will rest.” He informed her in a calm tone, but he was still worried.

“I want to go too,” Crystal whined, but I knew very well. She was not in good health due to the struggle of her mother’s wolf inside her b*dy. “No, Crystal… You will not exhaust yourself. You need to rest, and this is final,” Theo immediately refused her in a stern tone.

“Theo is right, Crystal. You have already exhausted yourself so much. Let them do the rest. They are capable enough to do things without you,” Theo’s mother said to her in a stern tone. I also agree with her, but I couldn’t say anything.

“I will be back soon,” Theo whispered to her before leaving the room. “Here… drink some water,” my mother asked me in a low tone. I slowly moved my face. on Martha’s chest to see my mother and saw a glass of water in front of me. I was now taking hiccups.

I slowly lifted my head from her chest and took the glass. “Thanks, Martha….. Thank you for putting some sense in your brother,” Mom said to Martha in a tone filled with gratitude. “I am also his mother, Eli. Of course, I will be on his side if he is not at fault,” Martha answered her in her usual sassy tone

I drank a few mouthfuls of water to soothe my throat and gave the glass back to my mother. “For how many times in the past have I asked both of y to pressure him so much? He is your only child. It doesn’t mean that he needs. to take the burden of all your expectations. Adrian is not only responsible for what he became, Eli. You are at fault too,” Martha said to my mother while stroking the back of my head lovingly.

To be honest, I was surprised to hear that she noticed all those things. “I… I know, Martha… but Adrian is my mate too. I also feel his pain,” Mom answered Martha in a low tone, defending herself and my father. “Mate my a**, Eli. He is your mate, but he is also Adam’s father. You two gave all your love and care to him, but you burdened him with all his expectations. I still remember how Badly Adrian scolded him whenever he failed at something. He is also a

human. He is not supposed to be perfect because no one is perfect in this world.” Martha scolded my mother so badly that I looked up at her while widening my eyes in surprise..

She was looking in my mother’s direction. I looked at my mother and saw her biting her lower l*p. She had lowered her eyes in guilt. “Let’s not talk about the past anymore. The thing is that he is back among us, and now our family is again complete.” Crystal tried to ease the tension inside the room.

“Yeah, Martha… remembering the past would give pain only. I… I am happy th.. that I am back in my family… th… thank you for… for forgiving me, an., and accepting me again,” I said to Martha in a choked tone while taking hiccups sincerely.

She smiled and k*ssed my forehead. “I didn’t give birth to you, but you know that I never treated you differently from William and Vincent, right?” she asked me while raising her brows, giving me a knowing look. I gulped hard because I knew what was coming my way now.

I nodded lightly in agreement. “Then why did you not come to me when you were depressed and hopeless, Adam. When… when I.. learned th.. that you rejected Crystal, I.. I was heartbroken… but for two reasons,” she continued, and I felt tears in my eyes once again.

“You didn’t trust me with your complete heart, Adam. That’s why you never shared your worries and fears with me,” she complained in a low tone, but her voice cracked. I immediately hugged her again and put my head on her chest.

“I am sorry, Martha… I am really sorry… I can’t change the past… but.. but I don’t want to lose you,” I replied to her in a fearful tone this time. She tightened her grip around my n*eck and took a deep breath. “I am not going anywhere, Adam, and you are going back to our pack with me,” she declared in a firm tone.

I pursed my l*ps into a thin line. Should I go there? Would I be able to see William as my alpha? I was now more of a vampire than a werewolf. Would they be able to accept me just like in the past?

“He can’t go there, Martha. You can’t do this to William and Vincent,” Mom said to Martha in a worried tone, making me look up at them in confusion. “Why not? The alpha position is rightfully his. William will have no objection to giving him back what is his,” Martha answered her in her usual tone.

My heart skipped a beat when I realized what she was implying here. “No, Martha… I can’t go back now,” I hurriedly said to her, and she looked down at my face while narrowing her eyes. “I… I am a vampire now… not a werewolf,” I continued and lowered my eyes. She huffed and was about to say something when Crystal interrupted her.

“Mom…are we going to discuss everything by now? I am the one here who is sick, but you are worrying about him only.” She complained in a childish tone, making me smile this time. I knew that she was only throwing a tantrum just like she always did in the past.

“You are jealous that she is giving me more attention,” I provoked her while shrinking my nose, and she glared at me. “So what if she is giving you more attention, huh? At the end of the day, I will be her princess, not you,” she retorted once again, making me grin mischievously.

“Of course, I can’t be a princess….. Because I am a prince,” I replied to her back. with a sassy remark while grinning hard. I was still holding Martha in my embrace. This was our usual bickering and it felt so good. “But I am her princess… and I will always be her princess,” she put her claim on Martha, and we heard groans in the room.

“Not again,” Theo’s mother, Sylvia remarked this time annoyingly. “Yeah… not again… you know Adam that you can’t win her against an argument. Still, you are arguing with her,” Mom said in an annoying tone this time. “But I love the importance that my children give to me,” Martha chirped, making both the women glare at her this time.

I smiled and looked back at Crystal, but my smile vanished soon. “Crystal,” 1 yelled in panic and ran towards her, knocking Martha away in the process. Crystal was now holding her chest tightly once again and her whole face was covered in sweat. “O My,” I heard someone exclaiming in horror, but I just embraced Crystal tightly.

“Someone call Theo… now,” I yelled in panic when I realized that she wasn’t able to breathe properly. “AAAAhhhhhhhh,” she screamed at the top of her lungs, tightening her whole b*dy, but I tightened the grip on her. “Theo,” I screamed at the top of my lungs in panic, but the impact of my voice shook the whole pack house.
