Otis's POV:

"The battle here is actually so gruesome."

I walked down the road to the residential area with Nell in my arms, and my eyes were covered with the color of blood at this moment.

The ground was full of traces of blood that had been left by the battle, and after such a long time of drying, much of this blood had solidified and looked like a piece of red clay.

Some warriors were carrying the bodies of other warriors from the residential area towards the outside of Blue-moon Pack, and after they saw us, they just gave a greeting, their eyes filled with sadness and gloom. After this half day, the corpses had been collected for the most part, but they were not completely packed up yet.

Blue-moon Pack, Dusk Pack, the corpses of warriors from both sides, and the corpses of forest wolves were arranged piecemeal in various places on the ground, making the place look like a slaughterhouse. Some old wolves who had returned from the safe house were crying bitterly as they hugged some of the corpses.

It seemed that those warriors of Blue-moon Pack who died in battle were the children of these old wolves.

The sad atmosphere was like a cloud filled with gloom enveloping the mountain sky of Blue-moon Pack, and even though the battle had ended, the cloud never dispersed.

My eyes kept gazing at such an image, and I felt a vague pain in my heart, as if there was a fish thorn stuck there, which made my emotions go down with it.

"This is war, and war always mercilessly destroys life and the beauty within us."

Suddenly I felt a warm palm on my hand, and Conrad looked at me with unparalleled seriousness, each of his syllables as heavy as iron.

"In order not to let such a thing happen again, this is the reason we must become strong, in order to protect these lovely people behind us, on this path we must cut away the thorns and advance on the sharp stones." "Conrad, I understand, I will guard them."

The sun was setting lower, the residential area was sporadically lit up with some lights, Nell's home was not far, we had arrived at his doorstep after just a few turns.

The downstairs of his house is a store, although through the war, become some clutter and broken, but also can still see clearly.

I recalled some memories at this moment, the old female werewolf seemed to make some grain into bread here, and exchange some supplies with other residents through the bread.

In the depths of this store, that old female werewolf was lying on a rather long recliner, her eyes were tightly closed, her expression looked painful, and his wrinkle-filled cheeks were covered with sweat. "Grandma!"

Hearing Nell's voice over my shoulder, I placed him on the ground, and at that moment the little boy rushed into the store, grabbing the old werewolf's large, old and wrinkled, rough hand with his tiny one. "My grandmother was just packing up here, but suddenly she got dizzy and passed out, Otis sister, can you help me think of something?"

The little boy shook the old werewolf's hand then his watery eyes looked over, and I suddenly felt some softness appear in my heart, then I walked in with Conrad.

"Nell, don't panic, your grandmother will be fine."

I comforted him, while walking next to the aged female werewolf, her difficult expression seemed to be enduring a lot of pain, and I also placed my hand on her forehead at this time.

"Strange, her forehead is not rolling hot, what's going on?"

I touched the forehead of the aged female werewolf, my heart was filled with doubt, but at the same time that bad feeling in my heart was getting stronger.

I suddenly remembered that Conrad said he was dizzy, and I did not feel hot on his forehead, could there be some connection here?

"He doesn't have a fever, is it not a common cold?"

Conrad's face also stared at this moment, and he likewise came to my side to observe the aged female werewolf.

"I think this is not simple, if he is not a fever, it may be that he is suffering from some other disease, I can not leave this matter alone!"

Conrad said and walked straight out the door, his voice still echoing in my ears.

"Otis, you take care of this aged werewolf first, I'll go and call the doctor in, they dare not disobey my words."

Conrad's POV:

"Conrad, I always feel a bad feeling, it's my intuition as a wolf."

After walking out of Nell's house, Carl kept barking in my mind, he seemed agitated, and a bad feeling arose in my mind.

"Carl, no matter what things have a solution, anxiety does not solve anything, no matter what will happen next, I will use my hands to solve him!"

I answered Carl seriously, while I walked in the direction of the hospital.

The wounded warriors would all gather there, and now it was just after the war, even though it was almost evening, the hospital should be very busy.

Suddenly a wind blew over, the wind was not cold, but it carried the smell of blood, along with a feeling of making people feel sick.

I had some frown, along with this wind I even felt a dizziness appeared in my mind, but just when the nausea was getting stronger, a warm power appeared in my body, allowing my spirit to return to normal. This was the power of the wolf pearl.

The bad feeling inside my heart became even worse, and the symptoms of the aged woman reminded me of the morning when I was with Otis.

At that time I also seemed to have some dizziness, and Otis also said that my forehead did not have fever symptoms, but I did not think that much about it, because the symptoms quickly soothed.

But now that I think about it, I felt some warmth when I was soothing, and I thought it was Otis' body heat, but now I think it was also the wolf beads that were helping me.

Damn, what the hell is wrong with this, is it some kind of weird curse?

I stepped through the hospital gates with a bad look on my face, the crowded crowd automatically made way for me, and suddenly I saw a couple of nurses dragging in two fainted warriors on stretchers.

The wounds on these two soldiers were not serious, and the wounds should not have been so severe as to make them faint, but they did faint.

The bad feeling was once again aggravated, and I walked over quickly, my voice becoming serious.

"Nurse, what's wrong with these two soldiers?"

The nurse gave me a look, and he didn't seem to understand why I was serious, speaking in a relaxed tone.

"These two soldiers were cleaning the battlefield before, they probably fainted because they were too tired, let them lie in the hospital for a while, maybe they will wake up after a while."

I listened to their tone, my face became worse, and my voice brought stern.

"You go and tell all the doctors that these two soldiers and anyone else who might faint after that are all put in a separate ward, have the attending doctor check their condition carefully and be careful not to get close to them!" Speaking of which I lowered my tone.

"Don't make this too obvious, it's easy to cause panic, I suspect these people are infected with the plague."

"What!"

That nurse seemed startled, and then her face became tense.

"Plague, how can there be plague, plague is very difficult to treat!"

"Well, you call up an attending doctor to come with me, there is another similar condition in the residential area."

After saying that I looked around, the whole hospital was now busy like a machine, all the nurses were helping the warriors with their wounds, while the doctors were in their offices writing prescriptions.

But I was glad that the only people who fainted in the hospital were the two soldiers, and the others had no obvious symptoms.

Seeing this I put my hand on my chin and started to recall the whole process inside my head, a clue appeared in my mind.

The two soldiers were cleaning up the battlefield and then fainted.

The residential area was the center of the battlefield, and the elderly female werewolf fainted in the residential area.

I was not in the center of the battlefield, but I had the same symptoms, only relieved by the wolf beads.

Dusk Pack the very powerful werewolf who I had never seen before, who was most likely not from this forest, and with whom I had been up close and personal.

Wait, beyond the forest?

A light seemed to appear in my mind, and a terrible possibility occurred to me.

If this really was the plague, then the source of the plague, most likely, was brought back from beyond the forest by the man Dusk Pack hadn't seen!

That man is the source of the plague, those warriors of Dusk Pack must have carried some too, the center of the battlefield is full of corpses, then excluding that man, these corpses are the source of the spread of the plague! Thinking of this, some cold sweat ran down my forehead, my gaze swept towards the inside of the crowd and directly grabbed a warrior who didn't look seriously injured.

"You go tell Marsh that all werewolves who have cleaned the battlefield are all isolated separately, this is my order, execute it immediately!"

As I watched which werewolf rushed out, a voice rang out from my rear as well.

"Conrad, I heard from the nurse, please take me to the scene at once!"

"You come with me immediately!"

I glanced at one of the attending doctors who ran over, and then headed directly towards the outside of the hospital.

Anxiety was like a bouncing grasshopper in my mind, this was definitely one of the most anxious I've ever been, and if this really was the plague, then beside that infected old werewolf, Otis was there!
