Chapter 80

Jerome pursed his thin lips, trying to ignore Mikayla’s horrible attitude.

He calmly said, “You said that you wanted to do this before. I’m just giving in to your wishes, what’s wrong with that?”

Mikayla couldn’t help but chuckle. “You said it yourself, that was in the past. I don’t want to do it anymore. The only thing you need to do now is sign our divorce papers!”

If

you

don’t want to do so anymore, then why did you let your aunt bring my things into the room? And why did you tell your aunt that I rarely come home for meals?”

Mikayla felt like she was caught red–handed when Jerome said that.

Matilda actually told Jerome about what she had said!

“I didn’t ask my aunt to come over. Her actions have nothing to do with me,” Mikayla said.

“Mikayla, Jerome, come down quickly! Dinner is ready!” Matilda’s voice came from

downstairs.

Mikayla restrained her emotions and said to Jerome, “Let’s talk about this later. No matter what my aunt asks you to do later on, don’t agree to it.”

Jerome glanced at her with a numb expression.

Mikayla lost her mood to change clothes and went downstairs.

Amy and Matilda had brought the dishes from the kitchen, Other than the mushroom soup, there was also high–quality braised beef.

It seemed that Matilda had spent quite a bit on the ingredients. It was clear that this meal.

was meant to please.

“What are you standing there for? Where’s Jerome? Ask him to wash his hands and have dinner!” Matilda greeted her warmly.

Mikayla said, “Aunt Matilda, please don’t come to our house to cook in the future. Amy will

prepare whatever we want to eat.”

Matilda understood the implication of Mikayla’s words and she said, “Mikayla, I’m doing

this for you

I just want you and Jerome to grow closer.

“What’s wrong with that? Why do you sound like

I’m meddling in your a

your affairs?”

Charter ho

Mikayla replied, “You shouldn’t Interfere in our matters without telling me beforehand.

Matilda didn’t understand what Mikayla was talking about. She asked, “What do you mean?”

Then, Matilda quickly added, “Oh! Did you mean putting his things back in the room?

She continued to explain, “When I came over, your housekeeper was packing things, so I went upstairs to take a look.

“I asked her to move the things in the corridor inside the bedroom. What’s wrong with that? You shouldn’t throw a tantrum at me!”

Mikayla looked at Matilda and said, “If you’ve so much time, you’re better off taking care of Louisa. I heard she might not graduate on time. I don’t need you to worry about my affairs.”

“You!” Matilda exclaimed.

But when she saw Jerome coming downstairs, she immediately calmed herself.

She ignored Mikayla and warmly greeted him, “Jerome, come and sit here. Dinner will be ready soon!”

Mikayla sighed silently.

During the meal, Matilda took the initiative to chat with Jerome. “Jerome, you must be very

busy with work, right?”

Jerome took a sip of soup and said, “I’m a bit busy.”

Matilda sighed and said, “Stephen is also very busy but I doubt he’s as busy as you are.

“He’s working very hard to keep the company running but not many people appreciate his efforts. It’s giving him a headache.”

“I think that he should hire a professional team to manage the company if he can’t handle it himself,” Mikayla couldn’t help but interject. “I mentioned it to Grandpa last time. You must

know about it too.”

Matilda was angered by this idea.

“What do you mean? Do you not believe in your uncle’s ability? You’d rather spend money to hire others to do the job?

“If word gets out, people/would say that Stephen is not fit for the job!”
