It was difficult for Arthur to recognize Adriane from her figure due to the distance. After all, the impression she gave him was that she was an obedient girl who did not even dare to speak loudly. He had not expected that she was so proficient in horse riding.
Watching the video, even he could not help but cheer her on,
He decided to watch the second video with Adriane.
cracking a smile on his face.
Seeing that he was waving at her, Adriane shrunk her neck, walking over slowly, afraid that he would hit her.
Unexpectedly, he asked her to stand behind him, then pressed the play button on his phone.
Immediately, the neigh of horses filled the silent living room. On the screen, Isabella was stretching out her head through the fence, neighing loudly towards the opposite side.
The person shooting the video turned the camera away from Isabella, capturing the moment in which another horse was trembling with its head lowered. Adriane recognized that this was the horse she rode yesterday.
Adriane thought in disbelief, “Was Isabella neighing at the horse I rode? Was it because of me?”
The video was very short. Having finished watching it, Arthur turned to look at her calmly. “Isabella has never been like this before.”
He owned a lot of horses, among which Isabella was the prettiest, most expensive, and most temperamental. But if he chose another horse to ride, Isabella would only be angry for a while at most, and would not neigh furiously at other horses.
Adriane had never bonded with Isabella, yet she was able to make her so jealous. If she could break out of the fence, the horse she rode might be trampled to death.
“I didn’t expect her to be so angry…Even if I knew, I wouldn’t choose her.”
“Why not?” Arthur asked naturally.

Adriane looked at him in a daze, as if she did not understand why he asked that question. “That’s your horse! She is so expensive! If anything happens to
her, I won’t be able to afford it…”
“You can call me the next time you encounter such a situation.”
Her eyes lit up. “And you will agree to lend me Isabella?!” The thought of riding on such a good horse made her blood boil!
Arthur said with indifference, “I’ll consider it.”
Adriane thought to herself, “If you are not to lend me Isabella, what’s the point of saying all of these?”
Before going upstairs, Arthur said to her, “Remember to use the medicine.” It was as if he had come over here just to show her the video.
The Stewarts would deal with Zack’s injury, so she did not bother to think about it.
She heard from Yarl that Arthur was still having a low fever and could not eat anything.
After all, he had gotten drenched while waiting for her. She felt bad about it, racking her brains to come up with an idea. She decided to cook a light meal
for him.
Knowing her plan, Yael was surprised. After all, although she was an adopted daughter, she was also one of the Stewarts. She had always been in school. How could she know how to cook? Adriane smiled without uttering a word.
It was all because she had spent all the time and energy on that jerk in her previous life. To conquer his stomach, not only did she take cooking training courses, but she also studied many recipes seriously.
For her, it was much easier to cook than to know the way. The more dishes one cooks, the better the taste and color will be.

Seeing the confidence on her face, Yael led her to the kitchen and asked the pantryman who was originally in charge of cooking to help her.
After figuring out where the ingredients and condiments were stored, she washed the rice, made porridge, cut the vegetables, and boiled the water. She was swift and methodical in preparing all of these.
She spent half an hour making the dishes. And the porridge would be cooked well in around ten minutes. She asked the pantryman to bring the food
upstairs.
Opening the door of Arthur’s room, she found that he was talking to Yael with a cold voice. When he saw her, he stopped the conversation.
“What’s up?” Arthur asked.
Adriane walked in with a shy smile on her face. “It’s almost noon. I’ve brought you some food.”
“Leave it there.” He pointed at the study desk.
After setting the food on the study desk, the pantryman left with Yael. A waft of fragrance filled Arthur’s nostrils, arousing his appetite.
Ever since he woke up two months ago, eating food was like chewing wax, as if he had lost his sense of taste.
The dishes today were simple, but the color was very bright and tempting. The porridge was cooked properly, soft and mushy. The round plump rice was giving off a pleasant smell,
Arthur looked up as if asking why she had not left.
She was also worried that the dishes were not palatable, as she had not cooked for a long time. Rubbing her hands nervously, she said, “Artie, try it.”
Arthur was still a little resistant. “I’ll try it later. Have you applied the medicine?”
“Yes, I’ve applied the medicine.”
“Someone is coming in the afternoon. Don’t go too far.”
Although she did not understand what all this had to do with her, she still nodded obediently.
“You don’t wanna eat?” she asked again, but Arthur remained silent.
Sighing dejectedly, she walked out slowly like a snail. “It took me a long time to make all these dishes.”
“Wait.” Arthur stopped her, pointing at the food on the desk. “You made this?”
“Yes…You need more nutrition. Eating can help you recover more quickly,” she answered truthfully.
His heart felt warmth for some reason. “I’m a little hungry.”
She ran over in surprise. “I’ll get you some porridge!”
A bowl of porridge was placed beside his hand, and a few dishes were pushed closer to him. She sat by the table, propped up her head with elbows and hands, and stared at him without blinking.
Stirring the porridge with a spoon, he asked, “Don’t you want to eat with me?”
Thinking for a while, she said, “Ok, I’ll have some too.” After a busy morning, she was hungry.
She scooped the porridge into the bowl for herself. Trying to cool the food, she puffed out her cheeks and blew. In his eyes, she was adorable and focused.
Arthur also picked up his chopsticks. The porridge was very glutinous with the unique sweetness of rice grains. The meat was exquisite and had been cooked property. One could enjoy its rich fragrant smell. Besides, Adriane had only added a few seasonings to the vegetables which were so refreshing that Arthur’s appetite was whetted.

Taking a few mouthfuls of food, Arthur was completely overwhelmed by her cooking. In the past twenty years, he had tasted delicate food in countless high–end restaurants. He also hired many star chefs, but none of them could make dishes that grabbed his heart in an instant.
It was clear that she had no intention to show off how many skills she mastered and the ingredients she used were not top–notch, but these dishes gave him the warmth of family, making him feel especially comfortable.
Adriane thought he could only eat half a bowl of porridge since he was not in shape. To her surprise, after eating a bowl of food, he filled it with more for himself expressionlessly.
Adriane breathed a sigh of relief when she saw he loved these dishes. “How is it? Is it delicious?”
Swallowing the food in his mouth, Arthur replied elegantly, “It’s ok.”
Not blaming him for being cold, she said excitedly, “Actually, what I’m best at isn’t light dishes, but spicy cuisine. Dishes like boiled spicy beef, spicy tofu, spicy chicken, and spicy fish are my specialties! After the food is set onto the plates, sprinkle the sliced chili and pour hot oil on them. Listening to the sizzle of food, one can smell the tempting fragrance.” She closed her eyes, swallowing her saliva. “It would be a wonderful enjoyment!”
Arthur was also picturing the delicious spicy cuisine. Looking at the porridge and vegetables beside him, he suddenly lost his appetite.
