Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia) -
Chapter 1047
As he moved his hand, Victoria subconsciously grabbed it and held it tightly in her arms. Her move aroused Trevor's curiosity. As he raised his hand, his gaze fell down.
"Hand it over!"
"Hubby, this is related to my work, it's my privacy..."
Trevor squinted his eyes dangerously. He didn't say anything, but his hand moved forward a little. Was there any need for secrets and privacy when it came to him?
She had a tight grip on it. Victoria didn't really want to show it to him. While she hesitated, the drawing book was snatched away. Trevor opened it and saw several bags in various colors and shapes on the papers. Each bag was drawn very seriously. From the first page of a plain bag, following pages of the bag with different accessories and the last page of the bag with its designs drawn meticulously, and the graphic designs on the bag looked very real. Flipping from the first to last page, they were all design elements of bags. Trevor flipped through it again, and his eyebrows arched a few times.
"I was wondering what you were hiding in here as you were holding onto like a treasure. It's not like you're having an affair!"
What was there to cover up?
Trembling, Trevor was quite surprised. He grabbed Victoria and held her in his arms. He could not help but to let out a chuckle.
"What? This is my treasure, but it doesn't have any air of mystery to it anymore now!"
Trevor poked her forehead and smiled. "Hehe, you are indeed a little girl! Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that there's a bunch of messy drafts inside..."
"Huh?"
Trevor turned and walked to the sofa on the other side. That time, it was Victoria who chased after him. "Hubby, is it really that messy?"
She had only drawn a symbolic diagram and some typesetting. She had been modifying them for several days. She was finally very satisfied with that day's adjustment and started to color it. Trevor's words were throwing cold water on her work, and they impacted Victoria greatly. Sitting down, she was like a wilted flower.
"Should I change it again?"
While muttering, Victoria held the drawing book and looked perplexed.
Seeing that, Trevor was surprised as well. It was just a casual joke. How could she take it to heart? Furthermore, she was taking it so seriously. Why didn't she hold on to her opinions and argue with him like she always did?
How strange of her!
Trevor raised his arm and pulled her over. He set her down on his lap and looked at the drawings in her hand again. "It was just a passing comment. I am not knowledgeable in design works, but your drawing skills are great. It's totally lifelike!"
What he said was not a white lie to please her. A designer's mind always worked differently. He really didn't know how to properly appreciate many things!
However, his words also dispelled some of Victoria's thoughts. She seriously discussed it with him.
"I just got to know a popular master of crafts. She had made many famous bags, and her silk painting techniques were the only ones that were preserved from the original traditional craftwork. There were more than 70 types of techniques within that, and some of the bags she made are used by the first ladies of some countries. Mom's birthday is coming up, and I wanted to design something for her as a birthday gift. I originally wanted to draw something unique that represented longevity... Sigh, after all, these are cultural arts. I'm worried that if I can't pull it off well, Mom won't like it!"
After some hesitation, Victoria flipped the drawing book back over to the front page.
"Should I go for a more simple and traditional design? We'll definitely be having a meal together as a family. Since it's my first time celebrating Mom's birthday, as her daughter-in-law, I feel quite pressured. I really wish that Mom will like the gift I got her, and be happier..." In that case, she would have to think of another special design element. If she were to just use a simple logo or just some different shapes, then it would be no different from a generic branded bag.
Trevor was rather moved when he realized her efforts.
When it came to those things, it was
true that the ladies put in more efforts. If he was to think about it, he would just order a bangle or some trending clothes, hats or shoes for Amanda. If he was really busy, he would just give her a call. Suddenly, someone was taking over the matter and handling it for him, and Trevor was visibly feeling relaxed and at peace.
"It's the thought that counts! I don't think Mom will mind! The amount of bags Mom owns might not be able to fill a whole house, but it's at least half a wardrobe's worth, much like you. Most of them are probably just for show. I think she might like some designs with traditional elements incorporated into them!"
"Then I'll change it. If I position the design on one side and leave more space in the corners, it won't look too gaudy or messy!"
As she thought about it, Victoria felt agreeable to Trevor's suggestions. As long as the color combination was good, it would still look very elegant. At least, with that design; it would be something unique. Not to mention, it was a boxy, rectangular style handbag, which was trending that year!
Suddenly, bright colors flashed across the bottom of her gaze.
Smiling, Trevor raised his hand to touch her belly and murmured, "Actually, there's a better present you could give..." "Huh?"
Stunned, she looked down, and her face instantly turned red. She slapped his hand away and rolled her eyes at him. "So annoying... Do you think that this is something that I can just decide on?"
Did he mean that he wanted to have a baby with
her?
Thinking of Alicia's adorable Clinton, Victoria's heart thumped. She used to be against it, but at that moment, she had begun to have a desire for it, and even long for it. However, every time, he used protection!
All of a sudden, Victoria realized that he could be having the same thought as her. Perhaps he had not intended to stay in a marriage with her for a very long time, and had not intended to have a child with her. Once, what he wanted was her beauty for the short-term. However, right then...
Trevor could not help hooking his hand around her neck and kissing her before she could finish her words.
Meanwhile, a car was being driven in circles for a long time. Finally, Selena parked it in front of a building of a high-end community and turned off the engine. Inside the car, Selena took out another cell phone and scrolled through it. Then, she took out a cigarette and lit it. When she was smoking her third cigarette, a white van came into view. At nearly the same time, she put out the cigarette in her hand.
"You're quite lucky, aren't you?"
About fifteen minutes later, she picked up her cell phone and put a small pill into her mouth. "Miss Hawk?"
It was an unknown cell phone number and she heard an unfamiliar male voice. Elaine's face was instantly filled with impatience. "Who are you?"
"You don't need to know who I am. You just need to know that I am here to help you! Having to get on your knees for men in restrooms, being taken advantage of by others, and being thrown with water must have been terrible!"
Just as she was about to hang up the phone, a sudden noise made Elaine's hair stand on end. She stood up and circled around a few times in the same spot before she strode to the window. She opened the curtains and looked outside before pulling them back quickly. "Who the hell are you? What are you trying to do?"
Was someone monitoring her? How could he possibly know that she had been touched by a man in a car at night, been followed, and been thrown water at?
