"It's getting late, you should hurry up and pack your things! I have to rest too! Have a safe journey home!" Mrs. Clements said. Alicia knew she could not stay there any longer. Hence, she picked up her bag and walked towards Frederick.

"Grandma, we will visit you next time!" she said.

After that, the two of them walked to the door one after the other. Just as they were about to go out, Mrs. Clements stopped them.

"Wait, I almost forgot!"

"Tomorrow is Friday. Remember to come over for dinner with us! Mason will be around, and so will your second uncle and his family! Don't be absent. Do you hear me?" she said.

The last sentence was obviously directed at Frederick. Alicia raised her eyes slightly and looked at him.

"Okay, Grandma!" he replied shortly after.

"Good, you should go then. Goodbye!" Mrs. Clements said.

After that, she smiled and waved her hand. When Alicia turned around, she seemed to have seen Mrs. Clements winking at her, but she was somewhat uncertain. Hence, she waved her hand back at her. "Goodbye, Grandma!" As soon as the car started moving, Frederick looked at Alicia with disdain. "You are getting bolder and bolder!" Did she come here to complain? To let his grandmother handle him?

She was confused. "What?"

She did not understand. Her mind was filled with Mrs. Clement's words from earlier. She subconsciously looked at him with more sympathy. Women were always soft at heart! She suddenly seemed to understand why he was so strong and powerful! Only the strong ones will not get hurt!

Compared to his life, Alicia felt that her life was too simple!

Frederick squinted at her and said, "Don't play these petty tricks with me in the future. You are not allowed to bother Grandma!"

With a shiver, Alicia instantly understood. It was Mrs. Clements who asked him to pick her up!

That must be the case. Otherwise, how could he know where she was?

"No..." She wanted to deny it. That was not her intention!

She wanted to explain, but when she met his impatient eyes, Alicia lowered her shoulders. "Oh, alright! I won't do it again!"

To put it bluntly, this was actually her idea. Back then, she would only come here on the weekends when she was free. On usual days, she would just greet Mrs. Clements through phone calls. This day, she really wanted to gain some information, but she did not expect the truth to be like that.

At this moment, Alicia seemed to understand why he was so obedient towards his grandmother. He really cared about his grandmother very much. She initially wanted Mrs. Clements to create opportunities for her and Frederick to have a talk. But for him, it might only make him angrier.

He would never allow his grandmother to be unhappy in any way. Even if the possibility of her being unhappy was very slight.

Instantly, Alicia also realized that she was wrong.

Therefore, along the way, she did not defend herself. She did not make any sound. Naturally, Frederick did not try to get even with her either. Hence, their standstill continued.

Fortunately, this cold and contemptuous look he gave her was not for nothing. The next night, they had to go home to have dinner together. Back then, this was the most painful time for Alicia, but this time, Alicia was thankful for this dinner.

When she was changing clothes, she was picky about what to wear, because this was not the first time for her to go there. This time, she was more concerned about Frederick's preference. In the end, she chose a casual knitted shirt and a pair of black pants. She tied her hair into a simple ponytail, which was less reserved and looked more youthful.

Throughout the journey, Frederick drove the car but he did not look at her at all. Alicia was used to it. She glanced at him occasionally and looked out of

the window occasionally. She had been smiling.

As soon as they entered the courtyard, a servant came up to them and greeted, "Master Frederick, Miss Blanchard!"

The servants were sensible. Although Frederick and Alicia did not hold a wedding ceremony, the servants were still very respectful towards her.

As soon as Frederick came over, Alicia took the initiative to stay close to him and held his hand. She obviously felt him trying to push her away, but she pretended to not notice and continued to hold him tightly. Their eyes met, and Frederick quickly turned his head away. However, he did not shake her off anymore.

They entered the room with their hands held together. Alicia greeted everyone politely. "Grandma, Dad, Aunt!"

As usual, Frederick only addressed his grandmother as he entered the house. After chatting for a while, everyone began to eat.

The dishes on the table were served one after another. They were normal dishes that would be eaten on a daily basis. Occasionally, they would have some small talks and the atmosphere was good. It was a very large dining table, and everyone only took the dishes near to them. But after all the dishes were placed, the three dishes in front of Alicia appeared particularly greasy.

She waited for a long time, hoping that new dishes would be served. Hence, she only ate the plain salad on her plate.

She wanted to get some broccoli, but as soon as she reached out, she realized that it was too far away. Alicia could only pick up some meat near her and place it on her plate. Why was the barbeque pork placed right in front of her? Why was it such a fatty one too?

She poked the soft fats on the meat. While she was having a headache, a few pieces of broccoli were placed on her plate. Frederick then took away the barbeque pork too.

She secretly glanced at him and realized that he was expressionless. He was holding the cutlery as if he had been trained in the military. His actions were sharp. Alicia smiled and squinted her eyes.

Mrs. Clements was right. He was cold on the outside but warm on the inside. He had been paying attention to her all this time!

This sudden cognition made her feel as if she had won a big prize, and she enjoyed the meal even more.

Across the table, Grandma smiled and said nothing. Meanwhile, Hallie was destroying the meatball on her plate.

After dinner, the two of them were asked to spend the night there. Even Mrs. Clements stayed, thus, Frederick could not object. When they entered the room, Alicia smiled and approached Frederick. However, he suddenly raised his chin.

"If you dare to spray perfume again, don't even think about getting within three feet of me!"

After saying that, he turned around and went into the bathroom.

Alicia took a deep breath and sniffed repeatedly. She thought, "His nose must be broken, right? I didn't spray perfume!"

She was so annoyed! What was wrong with him this time?

She raised her arm and sniffed it again and again. It was faint, but there seemed to be some fragrance!

After taking a shower, Alicia raised her hand and took a sniff. There was still some fragrance. It was a very fresh scent of shower gel.

She stood at the bedside, pointed at a pillow, and asked pitifully, "Do I need to sleep on the sofa again?"

As soon as she said it, he rolled his eyes. Then, Frederick lay down and turned his back towards her.

What was the meaning of this?

Was she allowed to do that or not?

She thought that she was not allowed to do that!

Alicia twitched her lips and lifted the quilt to get into bed. When she saw that he did not react, she wriggled her body to get closer to him. When her whole body was lying flat on the bed, she obediently stopped moving and then closed her eyes.

In truth, as long as she could feel him next to her, she would be at ease.

Although he did not look at her, Frederick thought the same as well. Only when he heard the sound of her breathing did he begin to feel sleepy.

The next day, when Alicia opened her eyes, she saw a pair of angry eyes on her face. Then, she realized that she had climbed onto him like an octopus. "Are you a snake?" he asked.
