Chapter 7.1

In court, Logan refused to admit any fault in our marriage and carried himself with an air of arrogance and condescension.

It wasn’t until video evidence was presented that he finally had to concede his mistakes.

Ultimately, the court granted me custody of our child. Since Logan was found to be at fault for infidelity, he was awarded only a small share of our marital assets and was ordered to pay me 2,000 dollars in monthly child support. Outside the courthouse, I saw Logan and Bella embroiled in a heated argument.

Bella was acting like a mad person, ignoring the stares of passersby as she punched and kicked Logan, shouting insults like “Useless!” “Coward!” “Liår!”

No wonder she was so furious.

Logan had initially treated her lavishly, getting her a job and renting her an apartment. She believed he was wealthy and did everything to interfere in our marriage, hoping to take everything from me.

But what she didn’t know was that Logan could only help her because of my support. I was the one who found her a job and secured their apartment.

Even Logan’s job was thanks to my father’s connections.

Now that he had left me, Logan had nothing.

Maybe he was too ashamed to admit it, or perhaps his so–called perfect woman had turned out to be a nightmare. In a moment of rage, Logan shoved Bella hard, causing her to fall.

She clutched her stomach in pain, and blood started to seep from under her skirt.

The crowd quickly called for an ambulance, and Bella was rushed to the hospital.,

The doctor revealed that Bella was two months pregnant. Thankfully, they were able to save the baby.

Two months ago, Mia was hospitalized due to a mango allergy….

I didn’t expect that while I was taking care of Mia in the hospital, Logan was already cheating on me with Bella and her pregnant.

But now, I had finally divorced Logan and freed myself from that toxic relationship, which was a relief.

Only after the divorce was finalized did I dare to tell my parents what had been happening.

When they found out, my parents were outraged. My father even wanted to confront Logan, but I stopped him.

“Logan and I are done. For me, Mia’s well–being and your health matter most.”

My parents, feeling sorry for me, decided to move in with me to help take care of Mia.

I was overjoyed by their support.

Not long after, I heard from friends that Logan was struggling.

News of his affair and his fall from grace had spread, isolating him from his social circle.

Bella had caused such a scene at his workplace that he was demoted.

Logan had borrowed money from everyone around him, and now, no one wanted anything to do with him.

My friends said he deserved it for his actions.

I couldn’t help but hope that Logan and Bella would end up together, so that they won’t be able to bother anyone else. One afternoon, while I was at work, I got a call from my mother.

She had been waiting at the school but hadn’t seen Mia.

Chapter 7.2

Panicked, I called Mia’s homeroom teacher, who said Logan had picked Mia up earlier, claiming there was an emergency at home.

A sense of dread washed over me as I called Logan.

He answered, saying, “If you want your daughter back, bring me one million dollars in cash.”

I was stunned, and l’could hardly believe my ears.

Logan was using our daughter to extort money from me?

I shouted furiously, “Logan, have you lost your mind? Mia is your daughter! How could you do this?”

“You forced my hand,” he retorted angrily. “Bring the money tonight, alone, or you’ll never see Mia again!

He hung up and texted me a hotel address and room number.

Terrified and unsure of what to do, I couldn’t bear to tell my parents, fearing the shock would be too much for them. I went to the hotel alone and knocked on the door.

Logan opened it and stepped aside to let me in..

He looked thinner and more haggard than I remembered. It was clear life hadn’t been kind to him..

I scanned the small room but didn’t see Mia.

“Where is she?” I demanded.

“Relax,” he said with a smirk, closing the door. “Do you really think I would harm my own daughter? Now, where’s the money?” I handed him 100,000 dollars.

“This is all I could get on such short notice.

“You’ll get no more until Mia is returned to me.”

Logan counted the money casually and sneered. I wouldn’t really use Mia to blackmail you. She’s still my daughter.” His words made me uneasy. “What do you mean?“”

“As long as you play along, we’ll all get what we want.”

He said, setting his phone on the bedside table and turning on the recording function.

I realized his vile plan, and my blood ran cold.

“Logan, you’re despicable! How could you even think of this?”

“We’ve been intimate before. We have a child together. Why act so shy

He said, grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the bed.

“We were married once. I won’t share these videos unless you defy me. But if you do, I’ll send them to everyone–your colleagues, your friends, plaster them all over the street.”

I struggled, “Logan, this is illegal!”

“So what? If you try to fight me, I’ll ruin you too. We’ll both go down together!”
