Benson 140
Chapter 140 Jeremy’s Challenge
When Benson left the locker room, his heart was still filled with anger and doubt.
His steps were hurried, almost storming out of the room.
The lobby was bustling with activity. Tourists gathered in small groups, chatting and taking photos.
However, Benson paid no attention to any of this. His eyes quickly scanned the lobby and finally settled on a corner of the café.
There sat a familiar figure–Jeremy.
He was elegantly sipping his coffee, seemingly unaware of Benson’s rage.
Benson’s gaze turned even colder as he swiftly walked towards the café, their eyes meeting halfway. Jeremy noticed and slowly stood up, a polite and gentle smile on his face.
“Mr. Benson, I didn’t recognize you earlier. My apologies.”
His tone carried a hint of regret, but the smile seemed somewhat fake and cold.
Benson reached Jeremy, without hesitation, grabbing him by the collar, his eyes filled with anger and questions.
“Where did you come from, and what do you want?” His voice was low and oppressive, drawing the attention of those around them.
Jeremy showed no sign of panic. He remained calm and composed.
“The BR project, it’s all thanks to Mr. Benson,” he said, with a trace of sarcasm and disdain in his tone.
Hearing this, Benson frowned, his heart even more puzzled.
He released Jeremy’s collar, his eyes filled with scrutiny and vigilance. “What do you mean?” he asked, his voice tinged with unease.
Jeremy straightened his wrinkled collar and smiled faintly.
“I had Andrew handle it, using personal connections,” he said, with a hint of contempt and disdain.
At that moment, a café staff member approached, carrying two cups of coffee.
“Sir, your coffee, Miss Yvonne’s mocha,” he said, placing the coffee on the table in front of Jeremy.
Benson glanced at the mocha, a thought striking him.
Yvonne liked mocha? He had never noticed this detail, but Jeremy knew it so well.
Jeremy noticed him staring at the coffee and smiled slightly, his tone mocking and sarcastic.
“Aren’t you her friend? Don’t you know she likes mocha?” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Benson’s face darkened further, his fists clenched, his eyes filled with anger and doubt.
“So, you’re here for her?” he asked through gritted teeth, his voice trembling slightly.
Jeremy shrugged nonchalantly, his eyes filled with contempt and mockery.
“An outstanding girl, everyone has a chance, don’t they?” he answered calmly; exuding confidence and
composure.
Benson’s anger was about to explode when he suddenly saw Yvonne hurriedly approaching.
Seeing Benson holding Jeremy’s collar, her face turned pale immediately.
“What are you doing?!” Yvonne quickly grabbed Benson’s arm, trying to pull him away.
Benson hesitated for a moment, finally releasing Jeremy.
Jeremy adjusted his collar, still wearing that calm and composed smile.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Jeremy, Benson lost control today,” Yvorine sald apologetically, her eyes filled with helplessness and guilt.
Suppressing the discomfort in his heart, Benson knew he had indeed lost control today.
He felt a wave of powerlessness and confusion. Every time he encountered matters involving Yvonne, his calmness and composure seemed out of reach.
Just then, Matthew came rushing over, grabbing Benson’s arm and pulling him aside.
“Bro, calm down,” he said in a low voice, his eyes filled with concern and reproach.
Seeing this, Yvonne turned to Jeremy, trying to explain their relationship. “I’m sorry, Mr. Jeremy, Benson… Jeremy chuckled softly, cutting her off.
“Oh, so he’s Miss Yvonne’s husband?” he said, his tone playful and teasing.
Yvonne breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a sense of ease. “I’m really sorry for the trouble,” she apologized again, her eyes full of remorse.
Jeremy waved it off indifferently, his tone playful.
“If I had a wife as beautiful as Miss Yvonne, I might act the same way,” he said, his eyes filled with teasing and admiration.
Yvonne was slightly taken aback, then softly replied, “You’re too kind.”
A slight blush appeared on her face, making her look a bit embarrassed and uneasy.
As they drank their coffee, they talked about work–related matters.
Jeremy showed great interest and support for her work, making Yvonne feel warm and comforted.
She knew Jeremy was a trustworthy partner.
When they finished their conversation and were about to leave, Yvonne suddenly felt a wave of exhaustion.
By the time she got home, it was already late.
She threw herself onto the sofa, her heart filled with complex emotions, Benson’s reaction left her confused and uneasy.
After leaving the ski resort, they hadn’t contacted each other since.
Yvonne hugged a pillow, sitting on the sofa, her mind replaying everything that had happened today.
Bella came over after finishing her tasks, seeing Yvonne dazing on the sofa, she couldn’t help but tease,” What’s wrong? Benson not up to it?”
Yvonne felt even more frustrated hearing this.
Just yesterday, they were entwined with each other, and today it turned into this. She shook her head helplessly, “You’re so unserious.”
Bella, seeing her like this, sat next to her, asking with concern, “What happened between you two?”

Yvonne sighed, filled with helplessness and confusion.
“I didn’t plan to divorce him during this period, even staying with him was for a purpose, not out of true feelings,” she said softly, her eyes filled with uncertainty and unease.
Bella frowned slightly, “And now? Are you still sticking to that?”
Yvonne was silent for a moment before slowly speaking, “I don’t know if it’s because he doesn’t like Mary, or if it’s his recent attitude.”
Bella gently patted her shoulder, comforting her, “If you have any feelings for him and he shows a willingness to change, it wouldn’t hurt to give him a chance, right?”
Yvonne smiled helplessly, “But thinking about the past, I still feel uncomfortable,” her eyes flashed with pain and helplessness.
Bella nodded understandingly. “What if he really wants to make it up to you?”
Yvonne tilted her head, looking at Bella, suddenly asking, “What if Andrew wanted to make it up to you?” Bella laughed bitterly, shaking her head, “My situation with Andrew is different from yours with Benson. I truly liked Andrew, but he never had any real feelings for me. You and Benson are married and have a foundation of feelings. If he truly cherishes you, it’s possible. Andrew has no heart, and he wouldn’t make it up to me. That scenario doesn’t exist.”
Yvonne didn’t respond, just quietly thinking.
She knew Bella made sense, but the pain and conflict in her heart made it hard to decide.
Meanwhile, Benson was playing cards at the club.
It was almost eleven at night, and there hadn’t been a single call or message from that woman. His face was colder than the weather outside.
William threw down his cards, unable to resist teasing, “What goes around comes around.”
Matthew sighed, patting Benson’s shoulder. “Brother, when your wife had you on her mind, you didn’t even look at her, calling her Miss Yvonne all the time. Now look.”
Benson checked his phone every few minutes, hoping to see if it had lost signal. His mood was terrible, his face terrifyingly gloomy.
“Late affection is worth less than grass,” George said, a playful smile on his face.
Benson threw down his cards, glaring at George. “Your idea was terrible,” his voice full of anger and dissatisfaction.
Trying to be good to her, making amends, showing respect, none of it worked. She chose work over him without hesitation.
George shrugged helplessly, “If she doesn’t appreciate it and doesn’t want you, you’re not obligated to be with her!”
