Chapter 145 The Battle for Endorsement

Yvonne gently pushed open the door of her house, dragging her dusty shoes into the living room.

Bella was sprawled on the sofa, her body nearly occupying its entire length.

She looked so lazy as if her bones had melted into the soft cotton of the couch.

Her eyes were half–open, occasionally drooping down, and her fingers lazily played with the tassels on the edge of the sofa, a clear sign of her low spirits.

Next to the sofa, a few cups of cooled coffee and some scattered magazines lay on the coffee table, looking as if they had been hastily perused and abandoned.

The room was slightly dim, with dappled sunlight trying to add warmth through the curtains but failing. leaving a faint melancholic air.

“Don’t be so down about the endorsement, I think it’s enough,” Yvonne said gently as she walked to Bella’s side, lightly patting her shoulder.

Her words carried a mix of helplessness and comfort, trying to break the heavy atmosphere

Bella suddenly sat up, a look of surprise flashing in her previously dull eyes, quickly replaced by confusion. “Did you go to see Benson?” Her voice was urgent, each word filled with a mix of hope and anxiety.

“I bumped into him,” Yvonne replied lightly, her expression calm, as if discussing something ordinary. She sat at one end of the sofa, picked up a glass of warm water from the small table next to her, and took a thoughtful sip.

“It’s so hard for ordinary people to do anything. Damn capitalism,” Bella’s voice grew more resentful, her fists tightening, the tension evident as she felt a surge of frustration.

She had given her all for the endorsement with Eurasia Jewelry–studying the brand’s inspiration, perfectly presenting its image.

She even adjusted her wardrobe and hairstyle to best fit the brand’s vibe. She had spared no effort.

Yet, the result was not as she hoped, leaving her exhausted from the disparity.

Yvonne watched Bella silently for a while, then softly said, “This world was never absolutely fair.”

Her words were calm and clear, expressing a philosophical acceptance.

Bella was silent for a moment, taking a deep breath as her agitation gradually calmed, replaced by a hint of guilt.

“I know you’ve done so much for me. I just feel like you’ve been wronged,” she said softly, her voice full of sincere apology.

“Wronged? It was just a kiss,” Yvonne responded lightly, as if describing a trivial matter.

Bella frowned, disbelieving. “Just… a kiss?” She remembered Benson, knowing he was not someone to be satisfied with small favors.

Her tightly clenched fists seemed to tighten more, stirring complex emotions within her.

Benson was known in the industry for his charming presence at car shows and high–end banquets, always exuding an irresistible allure,

Mentioning his name often invoked a sense of admiration and an untouchable distance.

Bella’s feelings were a mix of wanting to establish a working relationship and a natural caution.

“Benson begging for your attention so humbly?” Bella was stunned, never imagining someone as high and mighty as Benson would show such humility.

To be honest, Yvonne was also surprised. When she saw the look in his eyes, she judged that he was sincere.

So, she didn’t refuse the kiss.

She remembered the fleeting vulnerability in Benson’s deep eyes, which made her heart tremble slightly. Strong methods couldn’t make her submit, but showing weakness somehow made her less determined. The next day, Yvonne expected Eurasia Jewelry to announce the spokesperson, but there was still no news, making Bella anxious.

She paced the living room, nervously twisting the hem of her clothes, filled with anxiety and worry. She feared Benson would let them down, hurting Yvonne again.

After all, now she was a bit shaken, without knowing the real reason for her wavering. She truly didn’t want Yvonne to be disappointed because of Benson.

She knew Yvonne had done too much for her and didn’t want to see her efforts wasted.

Yvonne attended a meeting, the most important business event of the year for the company.

All the focus was on advancing projects and achieving financial growth. She had no time to check her phone, leaving it on the corner of her desk. Her phone suddenly rang from an unfamiliar number.

Bella, focused on her computer screen, glanced at the phone, paying little attention. However, the persistent ringing seemed urgent, compelling an answer.

Out of curiosity and a bit of responsibility, Bella finally answered the call.

A sweet voice came through, “Sister…” Though soft, Bella sensed a strong artificial tone and rolled her eyes.

*Sister, Benson said the endorsement for Eurasia Jewelry is mine. Tell your friend not to wait.” The voice continued in a sickly sweet tone,

Bella recognized the caller as Claire, Andrew’s half–sister, known for her manipulative ways.

Without further conversation, Bella hung up and deleted the call record.

Her anger and disdain simmered, confident that Benson wouldn’t make such a foolish decision, seeing it as Claire’s scheming.

Bella let out a cold laugh, her eyes flashing with a hint of frost. She knew this was just a part of the opponent’s petty tricks, unworthy of her concern.

When Yvonne’s meeting ended, she returned to the empty office, tired.

Megan told her that Bella had left to handle some matters at Eurasia Jewelry headquarters.

Yvonne didn’t question this, having full confidence in Bella’s independence and decisiveness.

Meanwhile, in her luxurious living room, Claire schemed. She knew she couldn’t directly influence Eurasia Jewelry’s decision due to her youth.

Donald would never consider her for such a responsibility.

Her goal was simple: to create small misunderstandings between Benson and Yvonne, delaying the

endorsement announcement.

However, she needed her brother Andrew’s support.

When she shared her plan, he coldly hung up. In desperation, Claire used her trump card.

“The spokesperson is Bella. Brother, it’s an opportunity to get closer to her,” she pleaded, her voice hinting at a mix of request and anticipation.

Claire only needed a day, with a call to Yvonne in between.

Everything was set like a chessboard, awaiting the final move. Bella’s plane landed at Mesquite Airport in the afternoon.
