Benson 156
Chapter 156 The Test of Love
A wave of sweetness welled up in Yvonne’s heart, a warm current flowing gently within her. Memories, long buried, suddenly became vivid again.
She recalled standing at the windward spot in the industrial park,
and Benson’s words to her.
He said he had someone in his heart, promising to marry her, and
he couldn’t break his word.
His voice echoed in the wind, firm and gentle, like a vow engraved
in her heart.
And that day, he asked about the painting on the wall, clearly showing he had never forgotten her.
These memories surged within her, making her emotions complex
yet warm.
Was Benson’s kindness to Mary just because of that pendant?
If he was truly seeking clues, all of this seemed to make sense.
Uncertainty began to spread within her, like a thin mist enveloping
her heart.
She knew she needed to replace an opportunity to ask Mary and also confirm things with Benson.
Just as she was lost in thought, Benson walked in with several bags.
He carried the bags and deliberately walked between Yvonne and
Bella.

Bella rolled her eyes, “Benson, there’s so much space, and you had to squeeze through us?”
Benson’s face remained expressionless, but a hint of playfulness flashed in his eyes, and he returned Bella’s eye–roll.
Bella shook her head helplessly, “He’s so weird.”
Lunch was being prepared by Yvonne’s mother and Susan, and Benson, being thoughtful, helped out in the kitchen.
This made Hannah very pleased and happy, and naturally, the food was to his liking.
When she heard Benson request dishes that Yvonne loved, she was even more satisfied.
During lunch, she specially gave Benson a big red envelope, thanking him for his thoughtfulness and care.
After lunch, Yvonne and Bella sat on the sofa in the side hall,
chatting.
Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, casting a golden glow over the room.
Their conversation was light and joyful, reminiscent of carefree girlish days.
Benson, having not slept all night, hoped to rest a bit at Yvonne’s house.
He leaned against the headboard, thinking of holding Yvonne for a nap, but Bella seemed to monopolize her, and the two had endless. things to talk about.
Leaning against the headboard, Benson couldn’t help but message Andrew, asking him to take Bella away.

Otherwise, what would they do with this Thanksgiving holiday?
Five minutes after sending the message, Andrew replied, saying
he’d be at Yvonne’s house in ten minutes.
Benson nodded in satisfaction, feeling a sense of anticipation.
Bella, who had no family, had been brought to Yvonne’s house every reunion day since her grandmother passed away.
Yvonne’s family treated Bella like their own daughter.
Andrew, well aware of Bella’s situation, had come from Mesquite the second day of Thanksgiving specifically to accompany her.
Benson felt a bit relieved. Half an hour later, Yvonne returned to the
room to replace Benson on the phone.
“Don’t let her come back just yet. Three, four days–anything’s fine,” Benson said in a low voice, with a hint of disdain.
Hearing this, Yvonne curiously asked, “Who are you talking to?”
“Talking to Andrew about Bella,” Benson shrugged helplessly.
Yvonne was speechless, glaring at him.
She knew Benson wanted more private time for them, but this
method seemed a bit excessive.
Her gaze carried a hint of reproach and helplessness, yet there was also a touch of sweetness in her heart.
Benson wrapped his arm around her waist, gently saying, “Take a nap, Mrs. Benson. Aren’t you tired?”
His voice was low and soothing, carrying a calming power.
His hand gently stroked her back, conveying endless warmth and

care.
Yvonne, guided by him, nestled into his embrace on the bed.
She felt the warmth emanating from him, as if an invisible shield surrounded her.
Looking up at him, her eyes sparkled with tenderness and curiosity, filled with words unspoken.
She thought, maybe he was looking for her all along, a guess that filled her with joy.
Her gaze lingered on his face, feeling a long–lost sense of peace..
“Do you really not like Mary at all?” she finally voiced her doubt.
After all, Mary was indeed beautiful, and there had been so many entanglements between them.
Her voice was soft, tinged with nervousness, as if afraid of hearing a disappointing answer.

Benson’s and tender, he softly countered, “What do you think?”
His voice was low and magnetic, seeming to penetrate her heart.
His eyes carried a playful smile yet were filled with endless affection.
Yvonne said nothing, just wrapped her arms around his neck.
Her actions were gentle yet firm, expressing her trust and reliance this way.
A faint smile appeared on her face, her eyes glistening with
warmth.
She felt his heartbeat syncing with hers, as if at this moment, their
hearts truly connected.
Benson, half–leaning on the bed, looked down at Yvonne’s pretty face.
His gaze was tender and deep, as if admiring a precious piece of
art.
“Just because of that, you’re this passionate?” he asked softly, his tone‘ playful yet expectant.
Yvonne smiled slightly, replying, “Not just that, I have my way of judging.”
Her voice carried confidence and determination, as if showing her stance.
Her gaze was firm and gentle, as if telling him she had decided to trust him.
Benson leaned down to kiss her, then softly said, “Sleepy. Will you nap with me?”
His voice was low and tender, carrying an irresistible allure.
His lips gently pressed against her forehead, conveying endless love.
Yvonne shook her head, smiling, “Sleeping on Thanksgiving break feels like a waste.”
She clearly didn’t want to waste this beautiful time. Her eyes -sparkled mischievously, teasing him.
Benson’s eyes flashed with cunning. He whispered, “Then let’s not sleep, do something else.”
His voice was low and seductive, suggesting a more intimate interaction.

He kissed her while gently caressing her skin, his movements filled with tenderness and love.
His fingers glided over her skin, causing slight shivers, making her tremble slightly.
Just then, the phone rang, breaking the warm atmosphere.
Benson held Yvonne tight, his arm wrapped around her, reluctant to let this moment be disturbed.
He reached for the phone, glanced at the caller, and frowned slightly.
“What is it?” Yvonne asked, her voice tinged with concern and
curiosity.
Her gaze was filled with confusion, worrying that the call might affect their time together.
Benson directly hung up the phone, softly saying, “Nothing
important.”
