Chapter 159 Prayers at the St. George Temple
Yvonne tilted her head towards Benson, a hint of uncertainty in her eyes. She asked softly, “Do you really want to pray for a child?” Her voice carried a mix of curiosity and concern, as if waiting for his further explanation.
Benson looked at her, his gaze sincere and gentle, “Honestly, I kind of do.”
It was their first time discussing the future so candidly, like a real married couple exploring each other’s wishes and plans.
Their shadows stretched under the streetlights, forming al silhouette of two people relying on each other.
Yvonne looked down at their shadows, her mind racing.
She recalled the scene at the old house, her voice low and gentle, Last time at the old house, I thought… having a child would be
nice.”
Her eyes reflected a complex emotion, a mix of expectation and
hesitation.
Sensing her emotional shift, Benson gently reached out and held.
her hand.
His voice was warm and reassuring, “What happened last time won’t happen again. I will take good care of you.”
His words were filled with a firm promise and gentle comfort.
Feeling her tension and unease gradually dissipate, Yvonne stepped forward and embraced Benson.
Her actions were gentle and intimate, as if expressing her trust and

comfort through the hug.
She whispered in his ear, “Alright, let’s go to St. George.”
Her voice carried a hint of sweetness and determination, as if resolving to face the future’s challenges.
The next day, Yvonne and Benson returned to her family home.
After lunch, they set off for St. George.
Hannah, knowing their plans, specially prepared plenty of fruits
and other necessities for them.
In the car, Yvonne and Benson, along with Matthew and William, were packed in a spacious SUV. The picturesque scenery outside the window accompanied their conversation and laughter, which echoed inside the car.
The journey from Las Vegas to St. George took nine hours.
The early autumn sun streamed through the car windows, bringing a touch of warmth inside.
The car drove through the vast desert, the horizon blending with. the blue sky, and the sand dunes glistened golden under the
sunlight.
Occasionally, a few resilient cacti stood in the barren land, silently watching over the desert.
As they drove further, the scenery began to change.
The arid desert gave way to rolling hills, with green plants gradually increasing, dotting the landscape between the hills.
The car’s wheels roared, and the swirling dust formed light gray
trails behind them.

Occasionally, birds flew past the window, drawing elegant arcs in the sky.
When they entered the area of Red Rock Canyon, the terrain. became more magnificent.
The red rocks glowed warmly under the sunlight, like a natural painting.
The mountains rose and fell, the deep canyons layered with mesmerizing colors.
Clear streams flowed through the mountains, the sound of water blending with the laughter inside the car, creating a unique
harmony.
By the time they arrived in St. George, night had fallen, stars dotted) the deep night sky, and a cool breeze brought a slight chill.
Matthew had a fine property near St. George, and they had
arranged for it to be cleaned beforehand.
Though Yvonne hadn’t driven herself, the long ride left her feeling tired.
She took a hot shower to relieve her fatigue, then slipped into the
comfortable bed to rest.
The next morning, Yvonne woke up early.
She walked to the window and saw the St. George Temple bustling with activity.
Worshippers were flocking in, and the morning air was filled with a solemn and sacred atmosphere.
She gazed at the distant mountains, their peaks tinged with the soft golden light of dawn, like a watercolor painting.

On the temple square, the sounds of prayers and hymns intertwined, forming a harmonious symphony.
Though not well–versed in church affairs, Yvonne decided to visit the St. George Temple to pray.
She quietly left the villa, climbed the stone steps, and entered the temple.
The interior decorations were exquisite, with stained glass windows casting colorful light patterns, and the marble floor shining softly.
In front of the statue of Jesus, devout worshippers gathered, children playing nearby, the atmosphere both serene and solemn.
Yvonne prayed silently before the statue, her heart filled with hopes
and wishes for the future.
Her prayers were infused with deep affection for Benson and her aspirations for their future.
She prayed for blessings for both of them, hoping for good fortune and happiness.
With her hands gently clasped, she closed her eyes, as if engaging in a silent dialogue with the heavens.
Returning to the villa, the morning sun cast a warm glow through
the windows.
Matthew’s house was beautifully decorated, offering a clear view
of the distant mountains even in winter.
Standing on the second–floor balcony, Yvonne admired the view below. The mountain’s magnetic field gave her a sense of peace and comfort.

As she rested her chin in her hand, quietly observing, she noticed. the neighbor returning, with servants bustling in the yard.
A beautiful woman in a black coat stepped out of the car, her figure slender and elegant.
The servants seemed to communicate with her using sign. language, catching Yvonne’s attention.
At that moment, Benson approached, holding a blanket, gently draping it over her shoulders.
His gaze was tender and concerned, noticing her startled. expression, he softly asked, “What’s wrong?”
Yvonne’s heart raced, her mind a whirlwind of confusion.
She quickly turned and leaned into Benson’s embrace, finally calming down.
Her voice carried a hint of panic, “I think I saw someone I know.” Her eyes revealed a look of disbelief.
Benson’s brow furrowed slightly, his gaze also turning towards the woman in the black coat.
His eyes were filled with curiosity and concern, but he said nothing.
Yvonne’s reaction seemed to confirm Mary’s words.
She recognized the woman, and Mary’s previous warning was now
validated.
Mary had called earlier, informing her about this “familiar person.”
Mary wanted to return to the entertainment industry and offered to disclose all information about this familiar person.”
However, Benson hadn’t believed Mary at the time.

Mary knew Benson’s temperament. She had said over the phone, “I told you before that Yvonne knows this person… If you don’t
believe me, you can take Yvonne to meet her. She’s in St. George.”
Mary had also mentioned that this person prayed in St. George every Thanksgiving for her deceased parents.
Benson glanced at the woman from a distance. Though she was slender, she exuded a cold and unblemished purity.
He asked softly, “Who is this familiar person?” His voice carried a hint of curiosity, hoping for a clear answer from Yvonne.
Yvonne’s mind buzzed, Benson’s voice seemed to come from afar,
her heart filled with shock and confusion.
Her gaze lingered on the woman for a moment, trying to confirm if she had truly mistaken her.
After all, she… she had disappeared in that fire years ago.
Perhaps she had mistaken her?
Finally, she tried to calm her emotions, answering softly, “It’s
nothing.”
