Benson 161
Chapter 161 The Uninvited Guest
Yvonne found herself calming down on a tranquil night in St. George.
Lowering her head slightly, she pondered the fact that they had reached the age to become parents.
As she grew older, her views on having children had changed.
She once resisted the idea of having kids, but now she was beginning to think
the
that having children might not be a bad thing after all.
Despite her busy work schedule, she believed that getting pregnant wouldn’t be an easy task.
Handling her work affairs before having children seemed feasible.
Under the
soft glow of the streetlights, Benson’s face looked more profound and captivating.
His eyes, deep like ink, gazed at Yvonne with a hint of doubt in his voice, “Is that really how you feel?”
She smiled warmly, “Yes, that’s how I feel. After all, I have to consider your thoughts too. Now that we’re in St. George, and if we’re aiming to have kids, wouldn’t it be disappointing if I disagreed?”
Even though she didn’t hold any particular religious beliefs, she understood that being in this place required a certain reverence.
In a city rich in history and culture like St. George, she couldn’t help but worry if refusing the idea of children might lead to future regrets.
This city seemed to hold countless stories and secrets that might influence her destiny.
Benson was deeply moved by her pure and sincere attitude.
He might not have realized before how precious her deep affection and
tolerance were.
Every smile, every word from her warmed his heart like sunlight.
He hugged her tightly, his cheek resting against her soft hair, and whispered, ”
Yvonne, I will treat you well.”
Yvonne nestled in his arms, gently wrapping her arms around his waist.
With her face against his chest, feeling his heartbeat and warmth, she softly said, “I believe you.” Her voice was gentle and firm, conveying her trust and hope for the future.
“Are we not going back tonight?” She looked up at him, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Her gaze was filled with sweetness and dependence, expecting a romantic night.
Benson gazed down at her, his deep eyes filled with love.
Seeing the sparkles in her eyes, a strong emotion surged within him.
They had just entered a five–star hotel near St. George, with a luxurious and cozy ambiance.
Soft lights reflected charmingly off the marble floors.
As soon as they entered, Benson pressed Yvonne against the door.
She stood on tiptoe, kissing him passionately.
Her lips were soft and warm, burning with passion and love.
She had once imagined such a passionate moment with him, both of them delighting in each other’s embrace.
Leaning against the wall, she arched her neck slightly, breathing heavily with a hint of shyness and satisfaction in her eyes.
As he lifted his head from her embrace, her hands gently cupped his face.
She whispered lovingly, “Benson, I really like you.”
Her voice was filled with intense emotion, a love that had seeped into every
cell of her being.
His back stiffened, an indescribable emotion rising within him.
Looking into her loving eyes, he felt her deep affection.
He kissed her again, passionately conveying his love to every corner of her

being.
In that moment of mutual affection, Yvonne felt she had finally found the one she had been waiting for.
The next morning, the faint morning light peeked through the curtains, illuminating their bed.
Benson, still in a light slumber, was awakened by the soft rustling sounds. The
light from the lamp highlighted Yvonne’s skin, making it glow like a radiant pearl.
He reached out from behind, gently holding her, and kissed her shoulder, asking softly, “Why are you up so early?”
Yvonne trembled slightly in his embrace, a blush s ading across her cheeks, “I wanted to get up early to go pray at the church.”
Her voice was shy and sincere, a sudden impulse she had.
Hugging tightly, they recalled the indulgence of the previous night, making her a bit embarrassed.
Biting her lip, she asked softly, “Do you think it’s insincere to go? After all, we were up all night.”
Benson chuckled softly, his voice teasing, “St. George is a place where even dogs are welcome, so human desires are nothing.”
His smile was warm and affectionate, easing her worries with a lighthearted
approach.
Yvonne thought for a moment and felt he made sense. Relaxing, she asked, ” Then what should I pray for?”
“Just pray for our parents‘ health, our family’s safety, and our well–being.”
She looked back into his eyes, filled with hope and tenderness.
Her voice was sincere, expressing her hopeful wishes for the future.
The night snow continued to fall, making the mountain roads unusually slippery.
After returning from the blessing hall, Yvonne chose to stay on the balcony of Matthew’s small villa.

Sitting quietly, she watched the snowflakes dance in the air, her heart filled with hope for the future.
This time, she clearly saw that person – Olivia.
Although years had passed and Olivia’s aura had changed, Yvonne was sure. she hadn’t mistaken her.
They had grown up together, sharing a deep bond, and Yvonne could recognize her at a glance despite the passage of time.
However, in the following days, Yvonne never saw Olivia again.
The only change was that the neighbor’s maid would go up the mountain every day, and Yvonne would chat with the maid, learning that the neighboring house belonged to the Davis family.
She decided that if Olivia’s situation became clear, she would replace a time to talk to Benson about it.
In Matthew’s villa, Yvonne continued her mountain walks.
Though St. George had many churches, the winter air was refreshing, and she used the walks as a way to relax, hoping to run into Olivia.
But days passed without seeing her.
One afternoon, Matthew and William planned to return to Las Vegas.
Still hoping to get lucky, Yvonne continued her mountain walks.
However, this time she encountered an uninvited guest – Mary.
Mary stood at the foot of the mountain, dressed in luxurious attire, with an expression of long–awaited expectation.
“Waiting for me?” Seeing her, Yvonne’s feelings became complex and uneasy.
Mary’s appearance seemed to foreshadow something unpleasant.
“Yes, Mrs. Benson.” It was the first time Mary addressed her so formally.
Yvonne hadn’t sought out Mary; instead, Mary had come to her, which surprised her.
Feeling a surge of unease, Yvonne asked directly, “The pendant, do you know

about it?”

Mary, caught off guard by her directness, hesitated briefly, “I know. If not for the pendant, I wouldn’t have met Mr. Benson.”
Yvonne’s heart tightened, realizing that the pendant might be related to
Benson’s search.
Was the person Benson had been looking for all these years really who she thought it was?
Mary continued, “Yvonne, I’ve said before, no matter how hard you try, you can’t surpass the deep yearning in his heart. The person he has always been searching for is here in St. George… and you know her too.”
Hearing Mary’s words, a bad feeling arose in Yvonne’s heart…
