Benson 193
Chapter 193 The Glitz of a Business Dinner
In Yvonne’s office, sunlight filtered through the blinds.
The light cast a warm and serene atmosphere over the tidy desk.
As Megan gently pushed open the door and entered, she saw Benson engrossed at the desk, his brow furrowed, fully absorbed in the documents before him.
His pen moved swiftly across the paper, occasionally pausing for thoughtful consideration before resuming.
Yvonné, meanwhile, was relaxing on the comfortable sofa, holding a novel·
in her hands with a faint smile on her face.
A gentle breeze drifted in through the half–open window, rustling a few
strands of hair by her ear, bringing a refreshing coolness.
The atmosphere in the room appeared harmonious, but Megan keenly sensed something unusual.
She couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was, but there was a subtle feeling that put her on alert.
was ac
It if there was an imperceptible tension in the air.
Like the calm before a storm, it made one feel a bit
uneasy.
“Miss Yvonne, where are you working?” Megan asked, her eyes scanning. the room, trying to identify the source of this odd feeling.
“A three–meter desk isn’t enough for two people to work?” Yvonne replied. nonchalantly, her eyes still fixed on the book, her voice carrying a hint of indifference.
“Oh,” Megan said, an awkward smile on her face.
“Then it seems we’ll have to squeeze Benson in with you for now. Once hist desk is set up in a few days, everything will be fine.”
Yvonne looked up, her gaze cool. “There’s no need to set up his office.”
Megan glanced at her in confusion. “Is that so?”
Benson also looked up, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes, his pen hovering mid–air.
Yvonne tilted her head toward Benson, her gaze teasing.
“Mr. Benson won’t be staying with us for long. Do you think setting up an office is free?”
Benson chuckled softly, a complex emotion flickering in his eyes, but he continued with his work, as if her words hadn’t affected him at all.
Yvonne stood and left the office, with Megan sidling up to her and whispering, “Are you sure Mr. Benson doesn’t need his office set up?”
Yvonne nodded, her tone firm, “There’s no need. What does he come to the company to see?”
“Financial reports,” Megan replied, her face a picture of bewilderment.
“Exactly. He’s just rotating through each subsidiary. He won’t be here long, “Yvonne explained, her tone carrying a slight disdain and faint sarcasm.
Megan immediately grasped the situation, her face lighting up with
realization.
“You mean Mr. Benson is about to start managing the entire Taylor Group.”
“That’s probably it,” Yvonne nodded, her gaze thoughtful and deep.
“No wonder. That film company was highly regarded in the industry, and he sold it just like that. Truly the son of the Taylor family, with such decisiveness,” Megan remarked, her tone full of admiration.
Yvonne said nothing, merely looking out the window. She had nothing urgent today and felt like taking it easy.
Outside, the sky was a deep blue, with a few white clouds drifting by. The sun bathed the tree–lined streets in tranquility.
“By the way, have you seen George in the past few days?” Yvonne suddenly asked, her gaze tinged with curiosity and concern.

Megan shook her head. “I’ve been wondering too. Ever since Mr. Benson. came to Caesar, George hasn’t been around.”
Yvonne sat in the lounge area of the banquet hall, holding a small plate of exquisite pastries, her expression slightly weary.
Her phone screen displayed a message from Bella.
“Bella, I need to borrow a dress,” Yvonne quickly replied.
Bella’had recently gained some fame on various online platforms, landing
several acting gigs and becoming exceptionally busy.
During a brief respite, she noticed Yvonne’s message and felt a bit surprised.
“You want to borrow a dress from me? I thought you didn’t like attending. banquets?” Bella replied in confusion.
“I used to spend most of my time in the mountains and fields. What banquets would I attend? This time is different,” Yvonne’s reply revealed a hint of helplessness and exhaustion.
“Alright, come pick one out from my place. You know the password to my house anyway,” Bella readily agreed, her tone full of care and support for her friend.
After ending the call, Yvonne sighed softly and picked up another small cake, savoring it slowly.
The cake’s delicate texture melted in her mouth, providing a bit of sweet solace.
She enjoyed the sweetness and then turned to Megan, saying, “Go pick out a dress.”
Benson planned to take Yvonne to Mr. Donald’s banquet that evening.
Yvonne hadn’t originally planned to attend, but Mr. Donald’s invitation had arrived, and as the head of Caesar, her absence would indeed seem rude.
More importantly, Benson had proposed hosting Mr. Donald’s jewelry design competition at Caesar, which made Yvonne reconsider her
decision.
Therefore, she had to attend this banquet.
Mr. Donald’s dinner, held at the Las Vegas Intercontinental Hotel, was a grand affair with opulent scenes.
In the banquet hall, guests donned luxurious outfits, engaged in lively conversations, and mingled with clinking glasses in a festive atmosphere.
A massive crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting dazzling light that illuminated the entire hall as if it were daytime.
The floor was covered in a red carpet, adding a touch of formality to every step.
Waitstaff carried silver trays, weaving between guests, offering an array of exquisite foods and champagne.
Benson arrived early, claiming he wanted to assist Mr. Donald with some preparations.
When Yvonne appeared in the banquet hall wearing a long black evening gown, her entrance almost caused everyone to turn and look.
Her gown was even darker than the night, highlighting her alabaster skin that glowed with a captivating radiance under the lights.
Her hair was styled in an elegant updo, exuding both grace and sophistication.
The gown’s deep V back perfectly showcased her snow–white, beautiful. back, exuding both sensuality and a touch of ethereal elegance.
At the moment Yvonne appeared, a complex mix of emotions surged within Benson.
He suddenly realized he shouldn’t have brought her to such a setting.
From the glances of the surrounding men, he could clearly sense that Yvonne was the most captivating focal point of the evening.
Yvonne’s features were impeccably exquisite. Her figure and demeanor were extraordinarily impressive.

When she smiled at people, the slight curve at the corners of her mouth was both enchanting and alluring.
Although Yvonne didn’t often attend business dinners, it wasn’t because she lacked social skills but because she was too busy to spare time and energy for such occasions.
However, Mr. Donald’s banquet that evening gathered many prominent figures, including renowned designers.
As the head of a fashion group, it was essential for her to interact and engage with these industry elites.
Mr. Donald immediately noticed Yvonne and promptly set aside the guest he was conversing with.
He approached her quickly. “Welcome, Miss Yvonne.”
A radiant smile adorned his face, exuding warmth and enthusiasm.
Mr. Donald personally welcoming Yvonne was undoubtedly a gesture of immense respect and courtesy toward her.
