Chapter 50 The Appointment at the Old House

Yvonne felt a twinge of bitterness in her heart. She knew no girl could resist a man’s tendemess, including herself.

When she parted her red lips to respond to Benson, she felt a deep sense of powerlessness, realizing how weak she seemed in this relationship.

She forgot all of Benson’s misdeeds and the pain and struggles she had endured recently.

In her room, there wasn’t a trace of light, and the darkness made her hearing unusually

sharp

This environment reminded her of the intimate times she had shared with Benson.

In a pitch–black room, they had embraced each other, kissed deeply, and then given themselves to one another.

During those intimate moments, Yvonne seemed to forget the passage of time and certainly didn’t resist Benson.

After cleaning Yvonne, she curled up in the blankets and fell into a deep sleep.

Benson stood by the bed, gazing at her for a long time before finally leaving the room.

Downstairs, he poured himself a glass of wine, sat on the sofa, and fell into deep thought. Without the influence of drugs and alcohol, he was surprised that he could feel such joy in a sober and rational state. He also hadn’t expected to feel such a high level of harmony with Yvonne

That rainy night, Yvonne had been controlled by drugs, and her actions and reactions had reminded Benson of his first woman, the only woman before Yvonne.

She was his first woman, and he was her first man.

In the surrounding darkness, she had accompanied him, cared for him, and eventually became his light, warming his heart.

When she hugged him tightly, Benson had decided to marry her.

The “overlap” at that moment made Benson once again have relations with Yvonne in the hospital room that rainy night.

Even though Yvonne was still as passionate as fire, Benson couldn’t replace that feeling again.

Even returning home and seeing Yvonne’s beautiful appearance, he didn’t feel the initial excitement.

After several days, Yvonne’s complexion had returned to its usual radiance, and the marks on her body had disappeared.

Benson began to think that he might be able to figure something out from this. He didn’t know why Yvonne was so invested today.

In the dark room, when Yvonne’s arms tightly wrapped around his neck, Benson felt as if she was his first woman. She liked to hug his neck tigh like a child holding him.

Almost seven years had passed, and many things Benson didn’t want to forget had slowly faded away

The last drop of amber liquid in his glass was drained, the empty cup glimmering faintly under the light

He sat in the dim room, the air around him seemingly solidified, with only the ticking of the clock on the wall reminding him of the passage of time

His fingers gently rubbed his phone, the screens glow reflecting on his furrowed brow

Finally, he took a deep breath and pressed the call button.

George’s steady voice came from the other end. “Boss, any orders”

His voice was low and firm “Find out where Yvonne was seven years ago.

Yvonne slowly woke from her sleep and opened her eyes to see Benson’s handsome face

His eyelashes were long and thick, and when he slept, he lost the sharpness he usually had, looking much more approachable

This used to be the mamed life she had dreamed of, but now, everything was different

The night’s passion blurred her vision, but with daylight, clanty returned

When Benson saw Yvonne in the dining room, she had already changed her clothes, put on light makeup, and was ready to go to work after breakfast.

Seeing him, Yvonne just said a simple “Good morning”

“Not satisfied with yesterday’s service? Benson sat across from her, a smile playing on his lps

Since the incident where Yvonne had been drugged, the divorce agreement she had planned to draft was never brought up again.

Just like Benson’s staying out all night, she seemed to no longer care

Yvonne was more composed and sensible than Benson had imagined

She knew the initiative wasn’t in her hands, so she didn’t bother to worry.

She was a very considerate wife, suitable for a marriage of convenience without much affection.

“I’m quite satisfied,” Yvonne replied, a blush rising on her cheeks, but her tone remained calm.

“Satisfied, yet so cold to me?” Benson probed, intending to break their current mode of

interaction.

Whether Yvonne could be “her” or not, on that rainy night when he changed his mind to replace her, his body was honest–he did miss her.

Yvonne sat at the table, tilting her head slightly at Benson’s words, carefully examining him as if trying to discern his true intentions.

Her serious and proper demeanor reminded Benson of how she had tightly embraced him, and this contrast piqued his interest.

“If the company’s not too busy, come with me to the old house?” Benson’s voice was gentle and full of anticipation as he looked at Yvonne, a hint of imperceptible pleading in his eyes.

Yvonne’s lips curled into a playful smile. She raised an eyebrow and asked, “Are you asking for my help?” Her voice carried a bit of teasing, as if enjoying this small power play. Benson smiled slightly, a hint of indulgence in his eyes. “If you like the word ‘ask,‘ then yes.” His eyes sparkled with mischievousness, clearly indulging Yvonne’s little whims

Yvonne seemed amused by his response. She blinked and put forth a condition: “One million. Have that person finish shooting within a week, and I’ll help you.” Her tone was light, a playful retort to Benson’s past threat with the brooch, now used as a bit of flirtation.

Hearing this condition, Benson couldn’t help but laugh.

He walked to Yvonne’s side, wrapped his arms around her along with the dining chair, holding her in his embrace. His movements were gentle yet strong, making Yvonne feel a sense of protected security. “Deal,” he agreed softly.

“Alright then, I’ll await your good news.” Yvonne continued eating, not moving from her position.

Her posture was straight, with excellent bearing.

Benson glanced at her fair neck and buried his face in it, nuzzling.

He suddenly understood why Marcus would be so enamored and captivated. Yvonne was Indeed very interesting.

Although Marcus hadn’t directly confronted Zoey, his actions revealed –

couldn’t be ignored.

T

He arranged for people to secretly monitor Zoeys every move, intending to uncover the mysterious person behind everything through her.

This silent tracking served both to protect Zoey and to keep a close watch on the forces. behind her.

As Marcus patiently waited for a clue, Curly’s call broke the silence.

“That car… it appeared at the Summerlin Golf Club,” Curly’s voice carried a hint of tension and excitement.

That car had originally belonged to William, but after the incident, knowing William’s habits,

s was

sure he would have discarded it.

Marcus’s heart raced. If he could trace the whereabouts of this car, he might be able to replace clues about Yvonne’s husband.

These past few days, Marcus had been anxiously waiting, and finally, he had received this valuable piece of information.

Taking a deep breath to calm his excitement, he quickly got up and drove to Summerlin Golf Club.
