Old Mr. Smith looked at Rachel’s determined figure. He knew that being merciful was Rachel’s bottomline toward the Smith family.

The Smith family members gritted their teeth as they watched Rachel leave unscathed.

Especially Mrs. Smith.

She thought about how she had been played by Rachel. Not only had Rachel ruined the Smith family’sanniversary celebration, but she had also ruined their reputation.

Mrs. Smith was infuriated and rage finally got the better of her.

“Rachel Grey, stop right there!” Mrs. Smith rushed forward and grabbed Rachel’s wrist. “You’ve madesuch a big mess, and now you want to just leave like that?”

Before anyone could see clearly, Rachel counter–reacted and grabbed Mrs. Smith’s arm.

She looked at Mrs. Smith with a faint smile. “Yes, I am leaving. What can you do about it?”

“You!” Mrs. Smith was at a loss for words. She was not going to take it lying down as she glared atRachel.

Rachel sneered and pushed her away. Then she left without turning back.

At this moment, a group of men in black appeared.

A smug smile appeared on Mrs. Smith’s face. “Rachel Grey, do you think you can just leave?”

However, before she could finish speaking, the group of men in black moved past Rachel andsurrounded the Smith family instead.

“Are you out of your minds?” Mrs. Smith glared at the man in black in front of her in exasperation. “Doyou know who hired you?”

The man in black was like an emotionless machine. His eyes were terrifyingly cold, and he wasextremely hostile.

Mrs. Smith felt a chill down her spine from the man’s stare. She swallowed her saliva and quietlyretreated.

Just when there was dead silence, Rachel suddenly chuckled. Her eyes were filled with disdain as sheglanced at the Smith family members. Then, she left arrogantly.

As the men in black left with Rachel, the intense feeling in the atmosphere gradually dissipated, andeveryone secretly heaved a sigh of relief.

Mrs. Smith was left staring after Rachel, and her eyes reddened. “What should we do now? Thosereporters will never show mercy. If today’s incident gets out, not only will Louis be reproached by thepublic, but our company’s reputation will also be affected!”

Old Mr. Smith’s expression was slightly glum as he said coldly. “In the end, you are the ones who areinsatiable!”

Originally, he only wanted Rachel to forgive the Smith family and use her connections to help them.However, Mrs. Smith secretly planned to use Rachel Grey as the scapegoat to cover up for Louis andOlivia’s scandals.

Mrs. Smith wanted Rachel to be known as an ingrate. Then everyone would see that Louis was lovingand compassionate.

What Mrs. Smith did not expect was that with Rachel’s temper, she would not be manipulated by theSmith family.

Rachel had been in the Smith family for three years. Everyone treated her like she was a nobody. Onthe surface, they mocked her, but behind her back, they said worse things.

Now that the Smith family members had discovered Rachel’s identity, they wanted her help instead.

They only had themselves to blame for this embarrassing outcome.

“But I did it for the Smith family!” As Mrs. Smith felt that she was scolded by Old Mr. Smith for noreason, she looked a little unhappy. “Are you going to allow everyone to hear that Louis is a heartlessand ungrateful

man?”

Old Mr. Smith glanced at her. “Don’t think I don’t know that you’ve been egging Louis and Olivia on tocontinue seeing each other behind my back!”

Hearing this, Mrs. Smith’s eyes flickered slightly.

At this moment, Jane said, “Grandpa, can you be reasonable? Mom is doing this for Louis. Let’s nottalk about anything else. Remember the night Rachel Grey was kidnapped and disappeared? Whoknows what happened? Don’t tell me you really want Louis to marry this woman?”

“Shut up!” Old Mr. Smith slammed his walking stick heavily on the ground. His cold expression revealeda hint of intimidation.

Jane stepped back in fear and snuggled up to Mrs. Smith.

Old Mr. Smith’s turbid eyes narrowed slightly, and there was a hint of seriousness between his brows.

No matter what, he could not let Rachel go just like that!
