Old Mr. Smith knew very well that that was not the best solution, but it was a way to retain the Smithfamily’s reputation.

If the Smith family gave up on Olivia at such a time, Louis would never be able to shake off the infamyof being a heartless man.

However, with that incident, Olivia would be firmly tied to Louis.

“The Cruise family only has one daughter, Olivia. They won’t give up on her. Now that the two of youcan’t be separated, you have to think about it at length.” Old Mr. Smith looked up at Louis with anunfathomable expression in his eyes.

Louis frowned slightly. “I understand.”

“Then what about Rachel?” Mrs. Smith could not help but ask after holding it in for a long time. “She’sreally hurt our family this time. Are we just going to let her have her way?”

When Mrs. Smith thought of Rachel’s arrogant attitude, she gritted her teeth in hatred.

If Rachel had not caused such a scene during the anniversary celebration, the Smith family would nothave been pushed to the center of attention. It caused the Smith family to be unable to raise their headin front of everyone. It also caused Louis to be scolded for no reason.

When Old Mr. Smith heard that, he snorted coldly with a dark expression. “Don’t think I don’t know whatyou’re thinking!”

Upon hearing that, Mrs. Smith’s eyes flickered slightly.

“If you spent more effort disciplining Jane, would she have been slapped? If you ask me, it’s not a lossfor her to be slapped!”

With that, he stood up with his walking stick and left.

When he reached the stairs, he happened to see Jane standing at the bedroom door. “Go back to yourroom and reflect on yourself! Think carefully about what you did wrong! Leave your room when you’vethought it through!”

In other words, if she could not understand, she shouldn’t even think about stepping out of the roomfrom then on!

After being slapped by Eddie the day before, the swelling on Jane’s face had not subsided. It was sopainful that she did not sleep well the entire night.

Hearing her grandfather’s unreasonable reprimand, Jane felt wronged and angry.

She could not understand what she had done wrong!

She even felt that her grandfather was venting his anger on her.

In the past, Grandpa had always doted on Rachel. He would always think of Rachel whenever therewas something good. Now that Rachel had left the Smith family, Grandpa was still protecting Rachel.

Instead of thinking about how to take revenge on Rachel for the Smith family, he only thought aboutpunishing her.

Jane’s hatred for Rachel intensified.

Jane secretly gritted her teeth, turned around, and returned to her room, slamming the door behind her.

She buried her head in the blanket and shouted hysterically as if that was the only way to vent thehatred in her heart.

However, she could not figure out where Rachel had hooked up with that

man.

Thinking of that man’s arrogant attitude and tone, he was definitely not an ordinary wealthy second–generation heir.

Ever since Rachel left the Smith family, Jane had been looking forward to seeing Rachel beingtrampled under her feet.

But why did it go against her wishes?

The old and new grudges were about to erupt at any moment.

Jane’s dull and lifeless eyes gradually overflowed with viciousness like a venomous snake flicking itstongue.

She was determined to ruin Rachel’s reputation!

At that point, who else would side with Rachel Grey?

After Rachel arrived at the company, she worked as usual.

Mary suddenly barged in. “I knew the Smith family would not let this

matter rest!”

“What’s wrong?” Rachel looked up at the furious Linda and closed the document in front of her.
