Louis slowly lowered his eyes and said softly, “I’m sorry…”

However, before Louis could finish speaking, Rachel raised her hand and slapped Louis hard on theface.

“You’ve let me down more than once! All these years, I’ve been strategizing and working so hard forthe Smith family, but how did you treat me?” Rachel’s eyes were filled with hostility. “Now that the Smithfamily has come under criticism, you pushed me out to divert everyone’s attention. You didn’t hesitateto leak my privacy and slander me unscrupulously!”

“Have you forgotten that if it weren’t for me back then, the Smith family wouldn’t have become the newrich of Seaxas? It is all because of me that the Smith family enjoys endless glory now. Without me, theSmith family is nothing!”

Hearing this, Louis‘ expression tightened. He pursed his lips and muttered softly, “I’m sorry…”

“Shut up!” Rachel shouted coldly. She raised her hand and slapped Louis hard on the face.

Louis‘ head tilted to one side. There was a clear palm print on his cheek, but he did not dodge at all.

“I’ve said it before. I don’t covet anything from the Smith family, nor do I care about the ridiculous title ofMrs. Smith! But you’ve hurt me again and again! Now, you’re using such a despicable method to frameme, yet you try to brush it off with the excuse of Jane being young and insensible. I’m curious if there’ssomething wrong with this heiress of the Smith family, who’s in her early twenties. Has she not grownany smarter since her childhood? Is that why you can be self–righteous and justify her mistake byclaiming she’s young?”

Louis understood the implication in Rachel’s words. His expression changed slightly as he looked atRachel with a gloomy gaze.

“Rachel, the Smith family has let you down in this matter. I’m willing to make it up to you as much aspossible. I hope you’ll show mercy and not hold it against Jane. Moreover, if this matter blows up, we’llall be embarrassed, right?”

Upon hearing this, Rachel sneered unceremoniously. “Are you planning to use coercion now thatreconciliation doesn’t work?”

Louis frowned. “You know that’s not what I meant…”

“What do you mean then?” Rachel interrupted Louis with a domineering attitude. “You offered me abank card and a hypocritical apology, and I had to accept it? Or am I expected to be magnanimousbecause of your apology and forgive the Smith family for doing such a despicable thing?”

“Can I take it that you guys created such a farce online to force me to submit. and let the Smith familydo whatever they want?”

Louis looked at the aggressive Rachel in front of him, and his patience gradually ran out. “Rachel, canyou calm down? Why can’t you listen to me calmly? When will you be as considerate as Olivia?”

“Considerate? Why must I suffer to make you guys happy?” Rachel sneered. “Then I’m afraid I’ll haveto disappoint you. I’ve always been a vindictive person! Back then, I made the Smith family successful.That gave you the confidence to test my bottom line repeatedly. But now, I regret it!”

“You have my word. I’ll do my best to get the Smith family back to what it

was!”

Rachel’s words sounded firmly in Louis‘ ears.

Every word was like a thunderclap that exploded in Louis‘ chest. Louis‘ pupils trembled violently as helooked at Rachel with a complicated expression.

However, Rachel put her phone in her bag without any hesitation and turned

around to leave.

Yet, when Rachel bent down to get into the car, she suddenly thought of something and stopped in hertracks.

Rachel turned slightly and asked coldly, “Louis, have you been to Phareborough?”
