Chapter 241 Born To Oppose Him

“So what if I am!” Mr. Zane slowly put out the cigarette in his hand and met Louis’s aggressive gazefearlessly. The corners of his mouth curled into al mocking smile.

“Isn’t the company involved in this storm because of your relationship problems? Why do you have tothink about Miss Cruise night and day when. you’re engaged to Miss Grey? You’re cheating on MissGrey with Miss Cruise and now, what you’ve done is all over the Internet. You even exposed Miss.Grey’s scandalous photos to distract everyone. Why? Do you not dare to own. up to what you’vedone?”

Mr. Zane looked at the ashen–faced Louis, but he did not stop there. Instead, he said sharply, “MissGrey was right back then. As the person in charge of the company, you should know that your imageand reputation directly affect the company. You don’t even have this bit of awareness. What right doyou have to think that you’re still suitable to be in your current position?

“We didn’t invest money in the Smith Group to embarrassed along with you!”

Louis’s expression was tense. He clenched his fists tightly and tried his best to suppress the anger thatwas about to burst out of his chest.

“Mr. Smith, we’ll give you time to resolve the matter. If you can’t give us a satisfactory answer, we canonly consider withdrawing our investment!” After saying that, Mr. Zane stood up and slammed the doorbefore leaving.

When the others saw Louis hesitating to speak, they sighed deeply and stood up to leave.

Only Louis was left in the huge conference room.

Just as his assistant was about to enter, he happened to hear the loud sound

of something shattering in the conference room.

He could not help but become alert. He stopped in his tracks and stood. rooted to the ground.

After some time, the door of the conference room was opened.

Louis walked out with an extremely gloomy expression. His entire body was wrapped in a terrifyinglyvicious aura.

The assistant silently sized him up for a moment and walked forward with trembling hands. He calledout respectfully, “Mr. Smith.”

Louis’s black eyes swept across him like knives.

The assistant trembled as he handed him a document.

“What is this?” Louis asked coldly.

The assistant gulped nervously. After hesitating for a while, he explained, “It’s a document that was justissued by the higher–ups.”

Louis strode toward the office and read the document quickly.

His frown deepened, and his well–defined face seemed to be covered in a layer of ice.

He had to bite the bullet and give up on the plot of land at South Valley to protect Jane.

However, that had not stopped him from shifting his focus to other projects. Yet, the document in hishand seemed to have already seen through his thoughts.

Louis thought, “No!

“He must have been born to oppose me!”

The authorities suspected that the Smith Group had sewage problems and asked the Smith Group tosuspend the hot spring hotel project.

They were in the early stages of the project, and every day that the project was delayed was anadditional loss in income.

At this rate, the Smith Group would sooner or later be dragged down by the projects at hand.

This was the first project he was in charge of since Rachel left the Smith Group. He would not allowany mistakes.

He would lose his current position if the directors found out.

It truly never rained but poured.

Louis suddenly closed the document in his hand and restrained the panic in his eyes. “Contact ChiefKandor. The sooner the better!”

There were small bridges, flowing water, and pavilions around, making the area exude an ancient, yetelegant aura.

Under the night sky, the flowing spring water was like silver silk.

This private restaurant was never open to the public. Usually, it only entertained the rich and powerfulpeople from prominent families in Seaxas.

It was also because of the strict privacy protection that the place was enjoyed and sought after bySeaxas dignitaries.

After three rounds of drinks, Louis asked, “Chief Kandor, when will the investigation end?”
