When Jane heard that, she felt that it made sense.

As Jane was thinking, Olivia had already walked onto the stage.

“Hello, everyone. Today is Mr. Zane and his wife’s wedding anniversary. Miss Smith and I will dedicatea piece of “Piano Song at Night“. We wish them a long and blissful marriage.”

As soon as Olivia finished speaking, a round of applause sounded from below the stage.

Jane had no choice but to put down her bag and walk onto the stage.

As the two were preparing to play, Olivia glanced at Rachel sitting in the rest area with a subtle hint ofresentment flickering in her eyes.

A melodious tune slowly flowed in the huge banquet hall.

All the guests had expressions of enjoyment on their faces.

However, Mary looked at Olivia and Jane on the stage with a faint smile. “What do you think they’re upto?”

“Let’s wait and see,” Rachel said.

Since the other party was coming after her, she knew she could not stay out of it.

David, who was sitting on Rachel’s left, leaned over and whispered in her ear, “I wonder if I’ll be luckyenough to hear you play a song tonight?”

David’s deep and magnetic voice sounded slow. His warm breath sprayed on Rachel’s cochlea, makingher heart itch for some reason.

Rachel glanced sideways at David and raised the corners of her eyes slightly. “What do you think?”

As they discussed, the performance on stage ended.

There was a roar of applause from below the stage.

“The tune is melodious and full of emotions. We can be considered to have eaten our fill.”

“The saying goes that one minute on stage takes ten years of practice off stage. Both of you are clearlyaccomplished pianists, and I’m sure there has been much hard work put in behind the scenes.”

“The two of you are skilled in music and have abundant emotions. You must have put in a lot of effortover the years, right?”

Olivia and Jane looked at each other. Jane smiled faintly and said, “No more, no less. It’s exactly tenyears.”

Hearing this, the audience was in an uproar.

They were surprised that Jane and Olivia had been practicing over the years.

The guests were full of praise for the two on the stage, which greatly satisfied Jane’s vanity.

Tonight, she could finally hold her head high.

Jane looked at David shyly, but she realized that David had been looking at Rachel the entire time. Itwas as if no one was worthy of his attention except Rachel.

The smile on Jane’s face immediately fell. She was angry and hateful, so she had no choice but to lookaway.

At this moment, someone in the crowd said, “Hey, Miss Grey happened to be present today. I wonder ifwe’re lucky enough to invite her on stage to play a song so that we can enjoy her performance?”

Many of the people present had business dealings with the Smith family.

Naturally, he had heard of the love–hate relationship between Louis, Olivia, and -Rachel.

Everyone knew that Olivia was the daughter of a rich family. Even though the Cruise family’s influencemight not be what it once was, there was still a certain level of respect and caution that people hadtoward them.

“You mean the woman who was pestering Mr. Smith?”

“That’s her!”

“Back then, when I saw how devoted she was to Mr. Smith, I thought that their relationship was verydeep. I didn’t expect her to fall into the arms of another

man.”

Louis clearly heard their conversation.

However, he did not intend to explain anything. Instead, he hoped that everyone would maliciouslyspeculate about him and Rachel to prove that he had once owned Rachel.

Rachel’s eyes narrowed slightly, and she smiled faintly. It was dangerous and charming.

“We’re all adults. We have to take responsibility for what we say!” Mary slammed the wine glass in herhand on the table. “Words have consequences, and it’s not worth causing trouble just for the sake ofentertainment. Let’s be responsible for our actions and words!”
