Rachel stared at him without blinking for a moment. Suddenly, her red lips curled into a smile, and thedepths of her almond–shaped eyes flickered. “David, you’re really strange…”

He would never ask what had happened, but he could always see through her thoughts and easilyreveal her true emotions at this moment.

She thought that she had hidden it well, but every time she faced him, she was like a person with nosecrets.

Swallowing her sadness and the pain of her slightly twisting heart, she leaned forward against hischest. “I’m fine. Really.”

However, Lily’s appearance caught her off guard.

“I’ll let you lean on my shoulder for a while.” David reached out and stroked her slender back as if hewas comforting an injured child.

To be fair, Louis’s family background and appearance were indeed many times better than thoseplayboys who only enjoyed eating, drinking, and having fun.

Unfortunately, she was not interested in Louis.

“Dad, Miss Cruise and Mr. Smith are about to get engaged,” Lily said. “And…”

She quickly glanced at Hans. “And I heard from Miss Cruise that Rachel had been in a relationship withMr. Smith for a period of time.”
