His words successfully attracted Thomas’s attention. He grabbed Lucas’s arm and asked. “Who is theother party?”
“You’ll have to ask Rae-Rae about that.” As Lucas spoke, the phone in his pocket. rang. He pattedThomas’s shoulder and turned away.
Thomas frowned slightly and looked down at the concert tickets in his hand. His fingers tightened.
Did he miss her after all?
After Rachel made an excuse to avoid Thomas, she casually found a remote corner and sat down.
She took out her phone and texted David, (Gentle Reminder: you’ve been ignoring your little cutie foran hour.]
After sending it out, she held her chin and quietly waited for David’s message.
Then Mary appeared from behind. “What are you thinking about? Why are you so engrossed?”
Rachel turned around in a daze. When she saw Mary, the coldness between her eyebrowsdisappeared a little. “Where have you been? I’ve been looking for you all the time.”
Hearing her, Mary’s eyes flickered slightly. She raised her hand and tidied the hair at her temples. “Ofcourse, I’m hiding aside to watch the show.”
“What kind of show?” Rachel asked.
Mary smiled wickedly. “I watched you entangled with Thomas, of course.”
Just as Rachel was about to explain, Mary quickly extended her hand to stop her from speaking. “Iknow your attitude, but Thomas clearly doesn’t think so. The way he looks at you can melt even a blockof ice.”
Hearing her analogy, Rachel couldn’t help but laugh. “We used to play together when we were kids. It’snot as exaggerated as you say.”
“I’m afraid that’s not what the other party thinks,” Mary said faintly.
She suddenly thought of something. “Oh, Yulia Wand, the movie star. Her wedding dress model hasbeen completed. The embroiderers in the studio are sewing it these few days. Go over and take a lookwhen you have time.”
The wedding dress gave off a lively feeling. In order to avoid an accident, Mary thought it would besafer for Rachel to take a look personally.
“Okay,” said Rachel with a nod.
A message popped up on her phone as she finished her sentence. She couldn’t help but smile. “I’mgoing out and talk to you later.”
Rachel walked out of the rest area and coincidentally met Thomas at the elevator.
“Rae-Rae.”
The moment she saw Thomas, the smile on Rachel’s lips became slightly distant. “Mr. Shain.”
“Rae-Rae. I remember you used to like The Count of Monte Cristo very much. Coincidentally, my friendgave me two concert tickets, so I wanted to invite you…”
“But I’ve never liked The Count of Monte Cristo. I only enjoy the pleasure of revenge. I like to seepeople who have done all kinds of bad things get what they deserve,” Rachel interrupted him. “If youdon’t mind, I’d better go before my boyfriend gets worried.”
“Your boyfriend?” Thomas frowned. “When did you start dating? Why haven’t I heard anyone mention itbefore?”
When Rachel heard him, a hint of impatience appeared in her eyes. “It is my personal affair, and I don’thave to report it to you.”
In her mind, Thomas had always been steady and prudent, much more so than Lucas, who didwhatever he wanted.
But now, Thomas gave her the feeling that she had misjudged him.
Seeing that Rachel was slightly displeased, Thomas quickly calmed down his inner panic. “I don’t meananything by it. I just want to ask you about his family background, how he treats you, and… how longhave you been together?”
