Chapter 508
“Stay away from Thomas Shain from now on!” David looked down at the woman under him. His darkeyes seemed to be burning with fire, igniting the hidden desire in the depths of his eyes. “Don’t meethim, don’t go out to eat with him, and don’t go to any concerts with him!”
Hearing the three things that David forbade her to do, Rachel was even more convinced that Davidknew everything about her conversation with Thomas.
Rachel did not miss the flash of ruthlessness in David’s eyes.
Her intuition told her that if she really had a flirtatious relationship with Thomas, David would get rid ofThomas without hesitation.
David was not afraid of the Shain family’s prestige in Seaxas.
Rachel looked at David’s dark eyes, which were cold and sharp. She wrapped her arms around hisneck and buried her face in his neck. She sighed softly. “You’re David Jones. Why are you feelingflustered because of another man?”
In Rachel’s impression, David had always been rational and restrained. He was a strategist, andeverything was in his control.
But now, because of Thomas, David had lost his cool.
David’s eyes narrowed slightly. His dark eyes hid an unconcealable dominance and aggressiveness. He stared at Rachel without blinking and grabbed her chin tightly with his fingertips. “Answer me.”
Rachel looked into David’s eyes fearlessly. Her pretty eyes were filled with a faint gentleness. “I have aboyfriend, so I certainly know I should avoid speculation. I also know I should keep a distance from
men other than you. But you must understand that the Shain and Johnson families are old friends.Thomas and I will inevitably meet, but I can promise you that I’ll take the initiative to report to you everytime he and I meet.”
As Rachel said, the Shain and Johnson families were old friends, so their relationship was naturallyclose.
Whether it was in business or in private, Rachel and Thomas would inevitably meet. However, whenDavid thought about how Rachel and Thomas were childhood friends who grew up together in school,David could not help but feel jealous.
David looked at Rachel with unknown emotions surging in his dark eyes. “Do you like Thomas?”
“No way.” Rachel laughed. “At most, Thomas was just a playmate. Moreover, every time I played withThomas, Lucas was also present.”
As long as David said that he did not believe Rachel, Rachel would immediately
call Lucas to prove her innocence.
Hearing Rachel’s explanation, the coldness between David’s eyebrows faded a little. His gloomy gazegradually softened. He realized that he might have been too nervous. He sighed slightly and gentlystroked the top of Rachel’s head with his palm. “I will believe anything you say.”
As David got up, Rachel propped herself on the vintage couch with both arms. “You’re not angryanymore?”
“Yes,” David replied gloomily. He turned his gaze to Rachel’s hand and frowned imperceptibly. Helowered his voice and said, “Remember to wear the ring after you go back.”
Rachel was slightly stunned.
Currently, it was not appropriate to announce her relationship with David to the public. Her maternalgrandfather, Arthur Johnson, also felt that it was
inappropriate to wear the ring before the wedding ceremony, so he asked her to take it off.
From Rachel’s point of view, even if she didn’t wear the ring, she still belonged with David in this life.
However, she did not expect David to be brooding over it.
She smiled. “Okay.”
After David regulated his emotions, he straightened his tie and turned around to leave.
Unexpectedly, Rachel grabbed the corner of David’s shirt and looked at him pitifully. “Aren’t you a littleirresponsible to run away after kissing me?”
Her cold tone softened like the tinkling spring water in a mountain stream, inexplicably stirring David’sheart.
