Chapter 51

David didn’t seem to be in a hurry to eat. Instead, he picked up a King crab from the middle of the tableand cut off its legs skillfully with a knife.

It was not easy to get the crab meat out of its shell, and one might look a bit rude while doing it.

That was also why Rachel chose not to eat it though she loved it.

David held the silver knife and fork with his slender and well–defined fingers. His every move waselegant and pleasant to the eye.

When Rachel shifted her gaze, she found that a peeled crab leg was placed on her plate. “Thank you.”Rachel lowered her head to enjoy the crab and tried to hide the surprise in her eyes. Then, she lookedup and glanced at David, saying, “You seem to know me well.” Hearing Rachel’s words, David raisedhis head, his eyes fixed on Rachel’s fair and delicate face. Then, he said with a faint smile, “It’s easy toknow someone.”

“Did you investigate me?” Rachel narrowed her eyes, and there was a trace of imperceptible coldnessdeep in her eyes.

David smiled faintly and took a sip of wine. Then, in a deep and charming voice, he said, “You are rightin front of me, and what you said should be more credible. Besides, I don’t need to know about youfrom others.”

After Rachel heard David’s words, the coldness in her eyes faded a little. Her red lips curled into aslight smile as she looked at David meaningfully. “Mr. Jones, what have you learned about me?”

“Your soft heart behind your aloof appearance.” David put down the wine glass in his hand and staredstraight at Rachel opposite him, his eyes filled with a rare gentleness. “Miss Grey, I hope to learn more

about you. I wonder whether you are willing to give me a chance.” A soft heart behind an aloofappearance…

Rachel had met David for only a few days, yet she didn’t expect him to know her so well.

On the contrary, although Louis had been with Rachel for three years, Rachel felt that he barelyunderstood her.

Initially, Rachel thought that it was because three years may not be enough for Louis, and he justneeded more time.

However, it seemed that David was right. It was easy to know about someone else as long as hewanted to.

Rachel took a deep breath to suppress the depression in her heart. She looked up at David, who raisedhis wine glass toward her and sincerely asked her for a chance. In the end, she toasted him across thetable and said, “Mr. Jones, I hope you won’t regret your choice.”

“I won’t. Time will help me prove it to you.”

After the meal, they left the restaurant. David proposed to send Rachel home.

Seeing that David insisted on it, Rachel could only agree. So she stood at the roadside and

waited patiently for David to drive the car over. Meanwhile, she sent a message to her driver and toldhim not to pick her up.

Olivia happened to walk out from another restaurant not far away and saw Rachel at a glance. In aninstant, a hint of coldness flashed across Olivia’s eyes. “Louis, look! Rachel should be waiting for a taxithere. Why don’t we send her home?”

Olivia acted like a spoiled child, and Louis looked at her dotingly. “She won’t agree to take our car. Soyou’d better not provoke her.”

Olivia felt a little upset and lowered her eyes. “It’s so late, and I’m just worried that a girl like her wouldbe in danger if she went home alone. Since you don’t want to see her, just forget it and pretend not tosee her.”

Olivia said with an ingratiating smile. Louis couldn’t help but feel pity for her. He sighed andcompromised. “If you insist on it, you can go ask her. I want to go to the parking lot and get the car.”

“Okay!” Olivia put on a bright smile. “Louis, I know you love me most.”

After Louis turned and left, the smile on Olivia’s face disappeared immediately.

Olivia walked toward Rachel step by step and looked at Rachel’s unguarded back, her eyes carrying afierce viciousness.
