Before Rachel could look up, David’s palm landed on her head, and he carefully pulled her into hisarms. “Stay with me.”

It was just a simple action, but it made Rachel’s heart skip a beat.

“I’m afraid I’ll disturb you if I stay here…”

“But you’ve already disturbed my mind, so you have to be responsible for me to the end.”

David’s deep voice slowly wrapped around Rachel’s ears with a hint of sexy charm, making the tips ofRachel’s ears itchy and her cheeks burn unconsciously.

Rachel tilted her head and avoided David’s hand. “Then have a good rest first. You can continueworking after the fever subsides.”

David looked down at Rachel with a doting smile. “Okay, I’ll listen to my girlfriend.”

“Then go to sleep first. I’ll stay here and watch over you.”

However, David seemed to have expected this. He grabbed Rachel’s waist and picked her uphorizontally. “If you move, I can’t guarantee that I won’t do something.”

Rachel understood the hint and threat in David’s words. A hint of embarrassment and shynessappeared on her face. Rachel bit her lips and allowed David to wrap his arms around her waist.

The cold elegant fragrance from David engulfed Rachel’s breath, making her heart palpitate.

David bent down and gently pecked Rachel’s long eyelashes before gently patting her back. “Go tosleep.”

Originally, Rachel planned to leave quietly after David fell asleep. However, Rachel did not expectherself to fall asleep in the end.

Listening to Rachel’s light and regular breathing, David slowly opened his eyes.

Rachel rested her head on his arm in peace, like an obedient and docile ragdoll.

Rachel’s thick, curly eyelashes were like fans, casting a faint shadow under her eyes. Her nose bridgewas high, and her round nose exuded the unique innocence of a woman. Her moist lips had an alluringluster, like fruits waiting to be harvested.

The loose collar faintly revealed the fair and tender skin of Rachel’s chest.

David’s dark eyes darkened, and he wore a helpless smile.

Rachel quite trusted him.

David reached out his fingertips and gently caressed the exquisite outline of Rachel’s face, his eyesfilled with infatuation which even he himself didn’t realise.

David had never understood why Louis would rather choose Olivia over Rachel.

In terms of looks, Olivia was not worthy of being Rachel’s

opponent at all. In terms of family background, Rachel could easily crush Olivia even more.

It could be said that there was nothing about Rachel that made people picky.

However, it was good that Louis had abandoned Rachel.

Otherwise, David might have wasted more effort to snatch Rachel

over.

As David was thinking, Rachel’s phone suddenly rang.

David hurriedly took the phone and picked up the call. “Hello, who is this?”

On the other end, Louis was stunned. He subconsciously looked at the phone number and confirmedthat there was no mistake. A layer of coldness appeared on Louis’s face then. He secretly gritted histeeth. “I’m looking for Rachel Grey.”

When David heard the man’s voice, he wore a mocking smile.

David looked down at the woman in his arms and slowly got up. He walked to the balcony andcontinued, “It’s not convenient for her to answer the phone now.”

“I said I’m looking for Rachel Grey! Who are you? Why are you answering her phone?” Louis’s wordswere filled with jealousy which even he himself didn’t realize.

However, before Louis could finish speaking, David hung up directly.

Louis listened to the beeping sound coming from the phone, and his eyebrows were filled withviciousness as if a big storm was coming.

Suddenly, Louis sneered. “Rachel, you’re so great!”

When the assistant walked in from outside and saw Louis standing in front of the floor–to–ceilingwindow with an extremely gloomy expression, he subconsciously held his breath.

After hesitating for a while, the assistant said carefully, “Mr. Smith, everyone is here. Should we startthe meeting?”

Hearing the assistant’s words, Louis, who was standing in front of the floor–to–ceiling window, lookedup. His dark eyes were bottomless, and there was a coldness between his brows that made peopletremble in fear.

“What did the people sent to investigate Rachel learn?”

The assistant was stunned for a moment before he hurriedly replied, “They haven’t gotten any news. Itseems like someone is deliberately hiding Miss Grey’s whereabouts…”
