No sooner had she sat down than the host reappeared to announce the outcome of the bid.

He droned on for a little while before finally taking out the paper that contained the results.

“First up, the Fairden Section in the Rain Mountain District.

Congratulations to the Nevins Construction Company for securing the bid!”

The less significant properties were announced first, and there were a good number of them.

Each time a winning company was announced, the audience would erupt in applause.

Vivien was on the edge of her seat as the areas being announced got closer and closer to the land they wanted.

She had to admit that she was a tad nervous, but she was mostly excited.

She sneaked a glance at Lucinda, expecting the latter to look worried.

Unfortunately for her, Lucinda looked as calm as ever.

Almost too calm.

Vivien huffed to herself.

She wanted to see if Lucinda could remain that cool and collected once the results of their bid was announced.

“At last! We are now at the most popular and prime location in the catalog, the land in the west suburbs! Who might the lucky winner be?”

The host swept a pointed glance over the audience.

They had finally reached the climax of today’s event.

As expected, the atmosphere instantly turned lively, and the crowd discussed among themselves in hushed tones.

Amanda had been getting antsy the entire time, but when she caught the host glance in their direction, she allowed herself a sigh of relief.

“Everyone, join me in congratulating the biggest winner of today’s bid…”

As the host began his spiel, Amanda stood from her seat with her shoulders pushed back and her head held high.

She even turned around and waved at the audience behind her, her lips curled into a triumphant smile.

“And the land in the west suburbs is going to… the Anglin Real Estate! Congratulations!”

At this point, Amanda was about to step out into the aisle to get onstage, her mind already racing back to the speech she had prepared beforehand.

As the host’s words sank in, however, she froze in place.

Anglin Real Estate?!

Not the Roberts Group…

How did this happen? She had never even heard of that damn company!

She stood at her seat, her hand still raised in midair, her lips stretched into a tight smile.

She looked like a fool!

Amanda couldn’t even fathom the depth of the shame she felt at that moment.
