Billionaire's Reborn Baby -
Chapter 970 She Disappeared
After Jaquan picked up Stony, he let others know Stony was safe.
Collin received Jaquan's call after sending Jade back.
It was 10:30. Collin remembered it very clearly. At 9:30, he and Jade left Cora's place. Before leaving, Cora told Collin to choose a date for engagement.
Collin was checking the date on his phone. He was unconsciously thinking about what Roxy would be doing at this time. Was she eating instant noodles? Was she making coffee? Or was she taking a shower? Collin parked the car outside Roxy's home. It was 10:30. He texted Roxy, "I'm not coming today."
Roxy made herself a cup of coffee after taking a shower. As she stirred the coffee, she looked in the direction of the door, lost in thought.
Her phone vibrated. Roxy knew it must be Collin.
Sure enough, he was not coming today.
Collin texted her. It meant he was in a good mood. But he came here fewer and fewer. Roxy was very clear that Collin had another woman.
Roxy was waiting for him to show his cards.
This day came very fast.
Many young people would define the 20th of May as a holiday for couples to confess their love. Beautiful roses were sold everywhere. When Roxy went to the bathroom, she vaguely remembered that she didn't have a period in the last two months.
It was dark but still hot outside. Roxy was wearing a black loose dress, a hat, and a mask. She entered a pharmacy.
Roxy was not sure whether Collin used condoms every time. She prayed in her heart that it should be a disorder caused by long-term insomnia. However, when Stony sat on the toilet and saw two red lines appear on the pregnancy test strip, her mind went blank.
"Roxanne?" Roxy heard Collin's voice.
Roxy quickly threw the test strip into the trash can. She hesitated for a second. What would Collin do if he knew she was pregnant?
But soon, Roxy lost such concerns.
Collin stood outside the bathroom and said, "I'm going to get married."
The test strip in Roxy's hand fell to the ground. Pausing for a moment, she picked it up, wrapped it up layer after layer with a tissue, and threw it into the trash can.
Roxy washed her face. When she opened the door and went out, she was wearing a faint smile.
"Congratulations," Roxy said.
Collin thought, 'If you're a little reluctant, I can give up Jade and Cora for you.' But Roxy had no hint of reluctance on her face at all. Roxy was saying congratulations with a smile. She reached out to him and said, "Give me the key, and we won't have to meet again."
Collin spent more than a year proving that Roxy did not love him.
Collin gave the key to Roxy and left without looking back.
What he did not know was that Roxy disappeared since then.
At the end of May, Collin went to Roxy's place and knocked on the door. No one answered. He lifted the carpet.
Collin found two keys hidden under the carpet.
He knew at once that Roxy had left. But he still opened the door and searched each room, shouting Roxy's name over and over again.
"Roxanne..."
There was no response.
The room was very clean. Roxy had taken all her things away.
Collin leaned against the wall and smiled bitterly.
He felt very lonely.
Collin began to lose sleep. He always had the same dream. A woman was calling him with a husky voice, "Doctor Mueller..."
Then he would wake up, alone.
Jade found that Collin was always absent-minded when eating with her. He would stare blankly from time to time. At first, Jade thought it was because of work. But later Jade realized it was because of a woman. Because Collin never took her to his place.
Jade had been to his parent's home and his hospital, but she had never been to his place.
Collin was a well-spoken gentleman. He had a remarkable temperament. More importantly, he was good-looking. When summer arrived, Jade found that Collin had abdominal muscles. He trained regularly to keep fit, and Jade liked self-disciplined men.
As time went by, Jade liked Collin more and more. Their families were discussing their marriage. Jade was satisfied with Collin in all aspects, except for the fact that he never invited her to his place. Jade was quite upset.
One day in May, Jade and Collin were ready to go back after dinner. Jade asked if she could go to his home. Collin looked at Jade for a moment before he said yes.
Collin's home was very neat and clean. It was said that doctors all paid attention to personal hygiene. Jade was very satisfied with that.
Jade sat on the sofa and drank a glass of red wine. Collin stayed away from her. Jade offered to sit beside him. She took his hand and tried to kiss him with her eyes closed.
Collin stood up and said, "It's getting late. I'll send you back."
Jade sat there awkwardly and stood up after a long while.
She finally realized where the real problem was. Ever since they were together, Collin had never kissed her. Never.
When the car stopped, Jade did not move. She looked down and asked in a low voice, "Doctor Mueller, are you in love with someone?"
"Sorry." Collin frowned. "I can't forget my ex-girlfriend."
"I get it." Jade did not know what to say. She could not give up on Collin, but Collin could not forget his ex-girlfriend. Jade thought about it and finally said, "You will like me one day. After all, you're not together anymore."
Collin stared blankly and murmured, "Yes, we're not together anymore."
"It doesn't matter. I can wait." Jade kissed Collin on the cheek. "Goodnight."
After Jade got out of the car, Collin didn't move. He picked up his phone and hesitated for a long time before calling Roxy. But the phone number didn't exist.
He was not surprised.
Collin did not go home. Instead, he drove to where Roxy used to live. They were supposed to get married. Even if Roxy had left, the house was filled with her traces. The sofa, the bathroom, the bedroom, and the kitchen.
As soon as he walked in here, Roxy's voice would ring in his ears, husky and sexy, with a little gasp.
Collin closed his eyes and leaned against the door.
"Roxanne ... You're going to drive me crazy."
