Chapter 18 I’m Going to Kill You

Layla petrified. Zachary’s words made her tears fall uncontrollably.

But she didn’t dare to disobey Wesley’s order.

Wesley probably felt she was too slow, so he pulled her over and let her sit on his lap.

Layla was in pain from being bumped, but she didn’t dare to make a sound.

Wesley bit her earlobe hard. Layla trembled with pain. Clenching her fists tightly with her nails dug into her flesh, she endured it desperately.

“Groan.” Wesley’s voice was so loud that Zachary, on the other end of the phone, could hear him.

When Zachary heard Wesley’s order, his eyes were red with anger. I’m going to kill you. I’m going to kill you. You devil! You devil!

Wesley intentionally tortured and humiliated her, crushing the last bit of her dignity in front of Zachary.

If you

don’t groan, I will break his legs tomorrow and let him spend his whole life in a wheelchair,He whispered in her ear, his voice audible only to Layla. His hand pinched her waist hard.

Finally, under his threat and the pain in her waist, she cried out

He yelled at the phone like crazy, You damn old man. Why don’t you give me your address? I’m going to kill you! I’m going to kill you now! Layla, don’t force me to hate you! Layla, talk to me. Are you dumb? Talk to me! Layla, come back. I order you to come back immediately! Are you trying to annoy me to death?

No one spoke on the other end of the phone, but Zachary could guess what happened over there.

If you don’t come back within half an hour, I will burn the apartment down.”

When there was no reply, Zachary was so angry that he threw his phone.

After that, he threw everything at home on the ground to vent his anger.

In just twenty minutes, the apartment had become a mess, as if it had been broken into by a thief.

But even so, Zachary was still angry.

He found a lighter, walked to the gas can, and pressed the lighter. The flame danced in his hand, flickering on and off, making his eyes red.

Just as he approached the gas can with the lit lighter, there was a crazy knock on the door.

Zachary put away the lighter and instantly came back to his

senses.

He seemed to think of something. With a gloomy face, he walked

toward the door.

He opened the door and saw the concerned face of Wren, the neighbor downstairs.

Zachary, why haven’t you slept in the middle of the night?

Zachary didn’t speak.

Wren continued, “I heard bangs upstairs for a while. Is there something wrong at home?

Facing her sincere concern, Zachary said bluntly, “I’m sorry that I disturbed you just now. I’m fine. Go to bed early. I won’t make any more noise.”

Well, it’s good that you are fine.” Wren looked at him suspiciously and said, “If anything happens to you, just tell Layla. It’s not easy for Layla to bring you up. If you keep everything from her, she will worry about you.

Probably because the light was too dark, Wren didn’t see the hostility in Zachary’s eyes when she mentioned Layla.

She paused and then added, “It’s not easy for her to take care of you all these years. She is a medical major and is very busy working in the hospital now. Sometimes, she can’t take good care of you and has neglected you. You should understand her.

Zachary still didn’t speak.

Wren also sensed something was wrong. She thought that maybe the siblings were having a conflict, which was a bit serious, and that it wasn’t something an outsider like her could
