BITE {Discontinued} -
I Need You (1)
“slowly, falling
I can hear the wolves
calling for me
and my heart sings,
sings a stronger tune."
Guadalupe whimpered softly as consciousness came. Everything ached, particularly her shoulder. The pain came to her in waves of intensity; it subsided for a few moments before crashing down on her again.
She was well aware of what transpired last night. Guadalupe was officially bitten by a vampire, then a werewolf, all in one night.
She wasn’t sure what would happen next, but she was sure that Jamie, Keon, Nox and Violetta would guide her through it.
A cool hand brushed against her cheek, and the electric shock of the contact made her shiver and whimper and seek for it again when it disappeared. Another wave of pain hit her, and she cried softly, only for it to die into a mewl as the cool hand held her cheek.
"Bella, wake up, please.” A small fire lit in her chest as his voice reached her ears. Her body followed his request, and her eyes fluttered open, only to slam shut at the brightness of the room. She heard some shuffling, the sound of curtains shifting; then he called out to her again.
Cautiously, Guadalupe opened her eyes to a much dimmer room, and a worry-stricken Nox hovering over her. There was so much distress in his eyes that it almost frightened Guadalupe; she tried to reach out to him, but it felt like her limbs were made of cement.
And when those silver eyes turned cloudy and started to rain, her heart shattered. “Nox,” she croaked, and the light drizzle turned into a torrent.
"Bella. Oh Gods, Ada, I-I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry baby.” Nox cried as he crushed her in his arms, his face buried in her neck and his grip tight. Guadalupe’s breaths were shallow. She stared at the top of his dark curls in confusion.
“Nox, what are you talking about? Why are you crying? Please don’t cry.” Guadalupe pleaded, her own eyes beginning to leak. He didn’t answer, but tightened his grip on her as his body shook.
Guadalupe swallowed. “Nox, am I going to die because of your bite? Because if so-” he moved abruptly, his silver eyes holding more pain than she expected to see. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed.
“You-” Nox looked away, his hands clenching in his lap, “you would die. If you didn’t accept us; me.” His eyes met hers again, broken and leaking.
“What makes you think I wouldn’t accept you?” Guadalupe asked, her eyebrows creased. Guadalupe didn’t even know that she was under the covers from the chin, until Nox tugged the cloth down, exposing her to the coldness of the room. Her skin prickled with goosebumps, and she felt her nipples tighten to peaks.
But Nox’s eyes were fastened on her neck, where shock, disbelief, then elation crossed his features. His fingers had a slight tremor as they reached out and brushed the mark on her neck.
Guadalupe had vague knowledge, and knew that the mark would affect the one who bore it, just not this much. She certainly didn’t expect her eyes to roll back into her skull, and for her back to arch, or to moan so loudly, and most certainly did not expect to suddenly turn into a waterfall.
When she opened her eyes again, Nox was hovering above her, smug and smirking. “Shut up.” She huffed, her cheeks burning. His smirk grew, and he planted a kiss on one of her burning cheeks.
“It’s completely healed.” Nox whispered as he pressed their foreheads together, and brushed his nose against hers. “Yeah? Then why does it hurt so much?” Guadalupe asked, and Nox was about to answer, but the words died in his throat.
The door slammed open, and an angry mother stepped through, promising death with her eyes trained on her son. “Faresti meglio a non costringerla ad accettarti!”
“You better not be forcing her to accept you!”
From what Guadalupe remembered of Nox’s mother, Luna Marisol was silence and strength. Within the few days she spent among them, Guadalupe quickly realized that Luna Marisol was the pillar of the pack; their source of strength. Luna Marisol was everyone’s mother.
She now marched towards Nox, who looked like he wanted to cower away in a corner somewhere. “M-mom mom mom, I’m not forcing her-!”
A resounding smack! echoed through the room. Nox rubbed his head, and Luna Marisol smacked him again. “Ow! Mamma...” Nox whined, but it fell on deaf ears as Luna Marisol began to smack him mercilessly, wherever her hand would land resulted in a resounding sound.
“What the hell is wrong with you? How could you just mark the poor girl after she’s been through so much! Because your little idiot wolf is jealous of his Gamma and cousin? Idiot, idiot, idiot!” Luna Marisol ranted in Italian as she continued to hit Nox, who twisted and squirmed in his spot, trying to avoid his mother’s blows.
“Wait you and Keon are cousins?” Guadalupe cut in, and the Luna stopped. Her eyes were a warm honey-brown as they landed on her, and scanned her visible body, only to zone in on her neck like Nox did.
“See, she accepted me!” Nox said in defense, then cried out as his mother smacked him again. “Zitto, ragazzino.” Luna Marisol hissed, then focused on Guadalupe again.
“How are you feeling, tesora?” She shoved Nox away, settling in the spot he occupied. “Just in a lot of p-” her words got cut of by a wave of pain. Guadalupe tensed, fisting the sheets under her hands as she bit her lip to stifle the cry in her throat.
Once the wave subsided, Guadalupe dropped back on the bed, panting lowly. “Pain. In a lot of pain.” A hand gently pressed against her forehead, warm and slightly irritating to her skin. She made a sound in her throat, moving her head away.
‘What is going on with me?’
Luna Marisol turned to her son, who stood in the far corner of the room, his eyes flashing between silver and gold. “Stupido idiota, guarda. She’s going into heat.”
Nox growled from the corner. “I know, mamma. I’m trying to control Zev here.” Luna Marisol scoffed, standing up and brushing her skirt. “Do it faster. I hear footsteps.”
She looked at Guadalupe. “I’m going to run you a cold bath, tesora. It should help you.”
"Grazie.” Guadalupe whimpered as another wave of pain washed over her. She struggled into a sitting position through the pain as those footsteps that Luna Marisol mentioned grew closer, until Jamie, Keon, and a very large, tall man barreled into the room.
A tense silence fell over the room, and an uneasy feeling settled in her stomach as the males were all staring at her, rigid and eyes flashing gold.
“Asknes,” Nox snarled, catching his Beta’s attention, “get those two away from her.” Guadalupe looked at Nox in shock. “What? Why? They’re my friends.”
The Beta snickered. “Not at this moment, Luna.” Guadalupe cocked her head, staring at Jamie and Keon as they prowled at the foot of the bed, their eyes not leaving her.
‘Those looks are not friendly, ma’am.’
Nox snarled again. “Asknes, now!” The man in question faced Nox.
“You’re acting like I’m not affected myself, Alpha.”
“A-affected by what exactly?” Guadalupe asked meekly, the atmosphere of the room causing her to shrink into herself. “Affected by you, Luna.” Beta Asknes said, his eyes flashing from a frosty blue to gold, and back.
“W-what’d I do?” She asked again, the uneasy feeling growing more potent. “Your scent...” someone growled, and her head turned to Jamie, or “Kingston?”
"Dulzura,” Kingston crooned, veins bulging in his neck and arms. “You’re in pain, aren’t you dulzura? I can help you.” Nox snarled viciously at Kingston’s words. Another wave of pain washed over her, and she curled in on herself, whimpering and panting.
A chorus of low growls echoed through the room, and Guadalupe found herself shivering. She was hot and moist in places that really shouldn’t be given the situation, and the low growls and tangible testosterone was not doing well for Guadalupe’s fever brain.
A low moan escaped her throat. She looked up in time to see Jamie mid-air, coming towards her, intercepted by Nox. The two fell to the ground with a loud thud, growling and snarling viciously at each other.
“You’re not going to fucking touch her, Roccio!” Nox shouted, and Kingston snarled. “Just let me take care of her dammit!”
“Over my dead body!”
“Arrangeable.”
“Boys!” Guadalupe yelled, forcing herself out of the bed and shuffling towards them, ignoring how her skin prickled under their gazes. “Please don’t fight-” An intense wave make her sway on her feet, and she found two pairs of arms holding her before her knees touched the ground.
“Alright the four of you!” Luna Marisol called, stepping out of the bathroom and propping her hands on her hips, “You’re going to bring her to me, and you’re going to leave. Go take cold showers, the lot of you.”
Guadalupe swore she heard them whine. “But mamma-”
Luna Marisol let off a warning growl that almost shook the windows. “Do not test me, ragazzino. Now, hand her over and get out of the pack house.”
“Yes Luna.” They mumbled, and she was slowly hoisted to her feet and passed over to Luna Marisol. Once she stood behind the woman, their gazes weren’t as potent as before.
“Now, off you lot go, sbrigati.” She clapped her hands, and the males began to file out of the room, glancing back at Guadalupe with every few steps.
She waved shyly at them from behind Luna Marisol, and her heart warmed when they smiled. The door closed behind Keon, and Guadalupe let of a soft puff of air.
“Okay, bath for you.” Luna Marisol said as she turned herself and Guadalupe around and walked into the bathroom.
