Bite Me Alpha [#2]
Chapter 2

I woke up early today. Jake was coming home and I was really happy. Jake and I have been friends for about 3 years.

I got out of bed and went to my closet. I picked out a black skirt and a white off the shoulder top. I went to the bathroom and had a shower then got dressed.

I left my hair down and walked downstairs to see Layla in the kitchen with mom.

“Hey Layla. Morning mom.” I said sitting down on a chair.

“Hey Beth. Jake is coming at 10. One hour left.” Layla grinned at me and I smiled.

“I’m excited.” I said to her before turning to mom. “I have to go see dad.”

She nodded. “He’s in the office.”

I quickly left and walked towards the office. I went inside the office and sat down in one of the chairs, waiting for him to finish.

“Yes Bethany?” Dad questioned, putting his pen down and looking at me.

“I just came to say hi.” I smiled sweetly, and he shook his head.

“What is it?” He raised an eyebrow.

I let out a sigh. “Iknowyousaidthaticouldworkhere

butiwanttoleaveandreplaceanotherjobsomewhereincalifornia.” I said in one go hoping he got it. When I want something I talk really fast so dad has got used to it.

“What? Why? You have everything here for you Beth.” He looked at me confused. “You can replace a job here and work here. What is in California that isn’t in New York?” Dad said, looking at me and I sighed.

“Dad I love it here but I want to go and live in California. You know I don’t really like to live next to the pack house. I want to be independent.” I shrugged my shoulders and dad sighed.

“But Bethany. You can be independent here as well. I can get you a nice house here and i’ll get you a job as well.” He said and I stood up.

“That’s the reason I want to move dad. You’re doing everything for me. And I do appreciate a lot but I want to do something on my own!” I shouted and he stood up and I could tell he was angry.

Never shout at your alpha. Even if you’re their daughter. I thought sighing

“Bethany do not shout at me! I am your alpha!” He shouted and mom came into the room and walked towards dad.

“Alex calm down. Give control to Cole.” Mom said holding dad’s hand. Alex is dad’s wolf.

“Hey baby. This asshole doesn’t let me out much.” Alex said, smirking and grabbed mom and pulled her closer.

“Alex.” Mom said warning him and he sighed.

“Okay fine. I love you.” He said and closed his eyes.

“Cole.” Mom said and dad opened his eyes.

“Hey Skylar. Why are you here? I was talking to Bethany.” Dad said, narrowing his eyes at me and I sighed and sat down on the chair.

“Cole you need to calm down. I could feel that you were angry. What’s wrong” mom said and dad sighed and sat down on his chair.

“Bethany wants to leave and go to California.” Dad told mom, who turned to look at me.

“Why do you want to leave Bethany?” She questioned.

I let out a sigh. ”Because mom. It’s not like I’m going to move right away. It will be after a couple of weeks or months. It was just an idea. I just wanted dad to know.” I mumbled.

“Okay. Why don’t you go outside and I’ll talk to Cole?”

I nodded, and walked out of the office, heading straight outside.

Lexi, I called out in my mind.

Mate mate mate. She said, running around in my head.

What- I got cut off by this amazing smell. Chocolate and lavender.

I walked ahead, stuck in a trance i wasn’t able to break, as I saw him.

“Jake...” I whispered.

“Beth..” he stared at me, confusion in his eyes before he walked towards me.

“Um hey Jake. You haven’t changed much.” I said trying to make it less awkward.

“Beth... can we talk?” He asked and I nodded.

“Um sure.” I said and we walked back to the forest. He sat down on a log and I stood up.

“What’s wrong?” I questioned and he sighed, dragging his hands down his face.

“Look Beth.” He let out another sigh. “You’re my friend. My best friend but you can’t be my mate.” He said, staring up at me.

I frowned. “Why not?”

He stood up from the log. “First of all, you never wanted a mate and then second of all you don’t even like to be a wolf. You’re not like us. I mean you’re not even Alpha’s real daughter.” He groaned, as if he was disappointed that I was his mate.

I could feel the anger rising inside of me. “Oh so I’m not living up to your expectations. I get it. So what if I don’t want to shift a 100 times into my wolf.” I shrugged my shoulders. “I understand what I want, Jake. I didn’t want a mate because I knew if I got a mate then everything would change. And I’m not the alpha’s real daughter? How cheap can you get?” I scoffed. “What the fuck? I didn’t even think you would say something like that.” I said laughing dryly.

“Beth I like someone else. I like Layla. I always have. That’s the reason why I came back early. I couldn’t take it anymore. I want to be with her, Beth. I’m sorry.” He said and I started laughing, couldn’t hold it back anymore.

"Layla. Really? I feel sorry for you.” He stared at me, confused. “Layla has found her mate and he is fucking ten times better than what you can be to her. Go on say the word!” I shouted and he looked surprised.

“What? She has a mate?” He asked and I didn’t answer him. “I’m sorry. Ignore what I said. I want to start a new chapter with you.” He said and I shook my head.

Utter bullshit.

“No way.” I said and he sighed.

"Please.” he begged and I shook my head.

“Say the fucking words Jake or I will.” My voice was calm, full of rage though and I knew he could sense it as he nodded.

“I Jake Mason, reject you, Bethany Damien Chance as my mate.” He mumbled and I closed my eyes as I could feel our mate bond breaking. Snapping in half.

“I Bethany Damien Chance, accept your rejection, Jake Mason.” I said the words out loud, in a clear voice. He closed his eyes and fell to the floor groaning.

“Fuck you asshole.” I muttered and walked away ignoring his calls.

I walked further into the forest until I found the clearing. It was silent and empty. This is the one place I go to clear my mind. I found this when I was 12. People used to bully me because I wasn’t the alpha’s daughter. Then I found this place and it helps me to keep calm or either is a place where I let out all my anger.

I used my hand to lift me up with the wind. The weather had changed from sunny to cloudy because of my emotions.

Storm is when I am really angry. Rain is when I’m upset and crying. Clouds form when I’m depressed and basically states that I will start crying or either I’m really angry. When the sun shines brightly, it’s when I’m happy. Which is never going to happen.

Are you okay? Lexi asked and I sighed.

I knew this was all wrong Lexi. Mates are fucking stupid. I should have never listened to you Lexi. I said and she sighed

It’s not like I knew Jake was going to be like that. I didn’t even know that he was our mate. She huffed and I sighed.

I need to be alone, Lexi. I muttered.

I can never leave, Bethany. She rolled her eyes but left me alone.

“Mother fucker. Fucking asshole. Bastard. Son of a bitch. Go fuck a fucking cow. Ahhhh!” I screamed it all out. It started to rain.

Sometimes I hate being the air element. Everyone knows what you’re feeling.

I moved my hand around me to create a bubble of air around me so I didn’t get wet.

Bethany, where are you? Why is it raining? And there is lightning as well? Come home sweetie. Mom said and I shook my head.

I’m okay mom. I just need to be alone for a couple of minutes. You guys can go to sleep or whatever. Just don’t wait for me. I replied and blocked her mindlink.

I let out a deep breath and closed my eyes. Calm down Beth calm down I thought just as dad mind linked me.

Beth, come home princess. Jake is here as well. He said and I sighed at his name.

Later dad I said and blocked everyone out.

“Fucking asshole!” I shouted.

Fuck, Beth. You’re giving me a headache. Look, calm down. You and I can do this together. It didn’t hurt as much as it should have. I think it’s because we never thought of Jake as our mate. Lexi said in my mind, her voice soft and understanding. I nodded.

You’re right. I can do this. We can do this. I’m just upset because I have known Jake for three years. Ever since we have been 13. Then 16 came and he left. But I never forgot him. It was just hard to think that he would say that to me. But i’m going to do this. I’m going to move to California. I explained what I was feeling and Lexi nodded her big white head.

California it is. A new start, let’s turn over the page. She said and I scoffed

I’m going to burn the book and start over again. I promised.
