Chapter 48
Madison dragged Vanessa off to pick out some jewelry.
Vanessa was a jewelry designer, so she was very perceptive about jewelry.
Vanessa immediately took a fancy to a diamond pendant that suited Madison’s aura very well.
The diamond pendant was sparkling and polished.
Its price was more than 34 thousand dollars.
The price alone was too much for Vanessa.
However, this diamond pendant’s value greatly outweighed its price.
Vanessa pointed at the diamond pendant and asked Madison, “Madison, do you like this diamond pendant?”
Madison had also taken a fancy to this diamond pendant. It was clean and sparkling without any impurities. It was a little cheap, but it didn’t matter. What mattered most when shopping was liking the purchase.
Madison smiled and said, “I do!”
“I’ll buy it for you,” Vanessa said.
Vanessa had no money, so she used William’s card.
Later on, once her father and brother’s situation stabilized, Vanessa would work hard to earn money.
Vanessa would also work hard to prepare for the Emerald Cup competition and strive for a good ranking.
If Madison made it into the top few places, she could at least make up for some of the money she was spending now.
“Sure!” Madison accepted happily.
Madison liked it when Vanessa spent money.
Although Madison had not known Vanessa for long, she liked Vanessa.
Vanessa was a sensitive child who knew how to be grateful.
Seeing that her mother–in–law had accepted, Vanessa immediately asked the store assistant to retrieve it.
The pendant felt even better when it was sitting in her hand. The diamond was transparent, and there were no impurities.
“Madison, let me help you try it on.” Vanessa was a little happy.
Vanessa liked this diamond pendant. It had a gentle aura and was especially suitable for her mother–in–law.
“Okay.” Madison smiled and lifted her hair that flowed past her shoulders.
Vanessa helped her mother–in–law put it on.
Madison smiled the entire time.
The two of them faced the mirror, and Vanessa could also see the smile on Madison’s face.
Vanessa’s heart was warmed again.
Vanessa had been poor since she was young, so she was more sensitive and perceptive to others‘ expressions.
“It’s so beautiful!” Madison touched the diamond pendant and exclaimed as she looked at herself in the mirror.
“I’m glad you like it. I’m winning favor with you with borrowed money. I spent William’s money, but I’ll work hard as well,” Vanessa said sincerely.
If the Hawk family gave her a chance to work hard, Vanessa wanted to give this a try.
“Silly girl, you and William are legally married. What’s his is yours. There’s no need to draw such clear lines. Let’s go. I will pick out jewelry for you.”
“Madison, I don’t need anything. William has bought some for me,” Vanessa immediately said.
“That’s William’s gift for you. Now, let me give you something” Madison was all smiles as she asked the store assistant to take out a few sets of jewelry.
Madison asked Vanessa to try on jewelry that caught her eye.
After Vanessa did. Madison agreed it looked good and insisted on buying it.
Vanessa was extremely anxious when she saw that her mother–in–law had already picked four or five pieces and still had no intention of stopping.
Chapter 48
Madison was afraid that Vanessa would be under too much pressure, so she smiled and said. “There’s nothing else that looks particularly good. We’ll come back again when they get new items”
Vanessa heaved a sigh of relief. “Okay. Madison.”
“Are you tired?” Madison asked Vanessa.
Vanessa shook her head. “I’m not tired.”
“I’m a little tired.” Madison smiled.
Vanessa immediately said, “Madison, why don’t we replace a place to rest and have some desserts?”
The cashier was right next to her, so Vanessa headed there, prepared to pay the bill before replaceing a place to rest.
Madison took out her bank card and wanted to pay for everything together.
Vanessa insisted that she pay for the diamond pendant.
“Okay Madison smiled and said, “Come to the spa with me later.”
Madison did not mention that they would be getting some spa treatments together because she was afraid Vanessa would decline.
“Okay.” Vanessa took out William’s card and made
payment with it.
William was holding a discussion at Hawk Group on the development of the southern suburbs.
William was advocating for the creation of exquisite bungalows to continue to build up Hawk Group’s reputation. Barron objected, advocating for high–rise apartments instead.
Barron felt that Hawk Group already had a good reputation and did not need to continue to build it up.
The southern suburbs were far from the city center, so their target audience would be low and middle–end clients. Therefore, the best way was to build high–rise apartments. The higher the building, the more apartments there would be. The more space there was, the more profits there would naturally be. Moreover, the price of a high–rise was lower, so it was easier to sell than bungalows.
There were a lot of arguments among the executives, with one side supporting William and the other supporting Barron since both ideas were equally good.
Everyone argued until their faces were flushed.
William stated his aim for wanting to build bungalows and its advantages.
Hawk Group’s objective was to continuously create good products without being blinded by money or coveting immediate benefits without considering long–term benefits.
The price of a bungalow could be slightly higher than the market rate, and the final profit would not be much worse than those of high–rise apartments.
At the same time, their products would provide their clients with comfortable homes to stay in.
With a better reputation, clients would also pay attention to Hawk Group’s other products.
Before William could finish his statement, Barron interrupted him, saying that William was too idealistic and adding that they were businessmen, not philanthropists.
Merchants should put their interests first.
It was best to make as much money as possible when you could earn money. Having more capital was the way to go.
Barron’s view was supported by many executives.
William subconsciously frowned.
William derested this kind of shortsighted vision the most.
Ben sat by the side and watched William frown. Ben did not even dare to breathe loudly. Mr. Hawk was about to fly into a rage. Mr. Hawk hated people who did not place importance on Hawk Group’s reputation and just wanted to make quick
money
William’s phone buzzed.
Ben lamented quietly. “Who has a death wish?” He wondered.
Ben had been working for William for seven years and knew him well. William was especially serious at work and would fly into a rage if someone interrupted him.
William picked up his phone and saw an expenditure of 34 thousand dollars on his supplementary card.
William’s brows suddenly relaxed. His wife had finally used his card.
Chapter 48
Ben’s eyes widened. William wasn’t angry anymore?
Ben immediately stole a glance.
[Expenditure Record]
Mr. Hawk was immediately appeased once his wife spent money.
Goodness, Ben should really get closer to Mr. Hawk’s brother–in–law.
William put down his phone and said, “There’s been a lot of controversy in today’s meeting. It’s a good thing to have differing opinions. After the meeting is over, everyone can report their opinions in writing. I only have one request. Hawk Group is everyone’s foundation. Our customers are our true bread and butter. I hope you’ll put yourselves in our customers‘ shoes when writing your proposal. I will repeat myself. Those who win people’s hearts will win the world. Winning people’s hearts isn’t about making empty promises but creating genuinely good products. Dismissed.”
With that. William led the way out of the conference room.
A few people who knew William well looked at him strangely.
A group of executives had overlooked Hawk Group’s reputation, but William had not lost his temper.
Everyone was curious about the message William had received.
When the nosy executives saw William leave, they immediately started asking Ben questions.
“Ben, who sent Mr. Hawk a message just now?”
“Ben, what happened just now?”
“Ben, bring in the documents I need for the afternoon. William’s dissatisfied voice sounded.
There were too many things to deal with. William still had to retrieve the custom–made wedding rings in the afternoon.
