Blind Date With A Billionaire By Sylvia Nancy -
Chapter 5
Chapter 5
“Dad…” Vanessa immediately took a tissue to wipe away the blood. The bloodstains quickly spread and stained the entire tissue red.
Her heart was throbbing in pain. She quickly took the medicine, her hands trembling as she twisted the bottle cap open. “Dad, take the medicine. You’ll feel better after taking it. I’ll call William and ask him to come over.”
Danny quickly brought over water, liis eyes red.
Vanessa fed Henry medicine and quickly called William.
She was worried initially that it was too early in the morning and William might have turned off his phone or wouldn’t
answer it.
She didn’t expect her call to be answered immediately.
“Will… William, are you free now? My dad, he… He’s not doing well and wants to see you now.” Vanessa tried to keep herself calm, but her voice was extremely nasal.
She knew it was a bold request, but she wanted to set her father’s mind at ease.
“I’m free. I’ll come over now. Wait for me!” William said, reassuring her, “Don’t worry too much. Take care of yourself so you will have the energy to care for your family.”
“Okay, I called an ambulance. It should be here soon. We’re going to Lantrie Medical Hospital, Vanessa said.
“Gotta go to the hospital. I gotta make Dad go to the hospital no matter what,” she thought.
“Okay, wait for me, William answered and hung up the phone.
Right now, he was in a cross–country video conference in the study.
It had nothing to do with the Hawk Group. It was his overseas venture.
They were working on the final preparations to bid on building a base station in Revie State, Dondale.
William stood up and said to the microphone, “You guys keep going. I got to handle something.”
The Chief Executive Officer, Frank Roberts, urgently said, “Mr. Hawk, the final round of bidding for this project will begin in the morning. We could lose the project if we don’t discuss it thoroughly.”
“Then it’s all up to fate,” replied William.
Frank reminded him helplessly, “Mr. Hawk, we can earn at least 140 million dollars from this project.”
“You guys continue discussing.” William said before turning off the camera.
He called his assistant. “Vanessa’s father is seriously ill. She has called for an ambulance from Lantrie Medical Hospital. Please inform them to hurry up. Also, arrange for a consultation with a specialist in oncology. Don’t let Vanessa know that someone is helping her.”
At abroad.
Frank, Shawn Yeats, and the others turned off the cameras, their faces grim.
They were worried. It was not the project that they were worrying about, but William.
In front of outsiders, they respectfully called William “Mr. Hawk,” but they were like blood brothers with a deep bond in private.
Frank had a worried expression and asked, “What do you think it could be?”
Shawn replied. “What else could it be? Didn’t you hear William say on the phone to wait for him? He’s a hopeless romantic and is probably planning to fly to Haloson to replace Tracy Yost.”
Frank said, “How can’t William see it? Tracy Yost is the most practical woman in the world.”
Alex Lever added. “Onlookers see more than the players. After all, they have been in a relationship for about six years.”
At Clovervale Residence.
The ambulance’s siren blared as it drove out of Clovervale Residence for Lantrie Medical Hospital.
Henry couldn’t bear to see his daughter cry her heart out, so he agreed to go to the hospital.
The doctor had given Henry a drip, but his face was still pale.
Vanessa sat in the ambulance as she texted William quickly on WhatsApp. [My dad is not doing well. I told him you’re my colleague, and we’ve known each other for two years. We’re in love and getting married. Can you please help me lie to him?” Please?]

William replied quickly. [Okay!]
He drove to Lantrie Medical Hospital in his Chevrolet. He thought that Vanessa had called him too early and might not have had breakfast, so he bought some breakfast on the way.
Henry was admitted to the ward when William arrived at the hospital.
Afraid that Vanessa would overthink, William’s assistant, Ben, arranged a regular hospital room for Henry.
The nurse had drawn Henry’s blood and told Vanessa they would arrange for specialist consultation.
Vanessa was very grateful to know about the specialist coming to do a consultation. She told Henry that he would get better
with it.
Even with an intravenous drip, Henry’s face was still pale.
Upon seeing William, Vanessa immediately stood up. She was uneasy and hesitant to speak.
William gave her a reassuring look.
Vanessa nodded. She pretended to be very familiar with William and called affectionately, “William. you’re here.”
Upon hearing Vanessa’s voice, Henry instantly opened his eyes. His spirits seemed to have improved compared to before.
He struggled to sit up.
Danny immediately helped him up.
William put down the breakfast instantly and walked over, saying, “Mr. Sanchez, please lie down.”
“Okay, okay… Henry moved just a little, but his breathing became rapid.
He leaned against the head of the bed, took a breath, and looked at William.
At first glance, he thought this young man was dashing and matched well with Vanessa.
“He looked sharp in a business suit.
“He also had a great temperament, just like Vanessa,” thought Henry.
He reached out his hand to William.
William immediately grabbed his hand.
It was a pair of bony hands that had endured life’s hardships and illness.
“Mr. Sanchez, I should have come to see you earlier…” William said.
Vanessa was afraid their lie would be exposed, and she immediately added, “Dad, I’m sorry. It’s my fault for not letting him
come.”
“I know.” Henry understood this very well.
He understood Vanessa and knew that she had been hurt in love before. As such, she wouldn’t bother others without a clear plan.
“Mr. Sanchez, sorry, I came in a hurry and didn’t bring you any gift,” said William.
“Don’t worry…” Henry looked at William as if he was seeing his son–in–law and asked, “William, how long have you known my daughter Vanessa?”
Even though he thought the young man in front of him was a good match for Vanessa, he was worried that Vanessa was faking it to please him.
“Mr. Sanchez, we’ve known each other for two years now. You haven’t had breakfast, right? Let’s grab some food and chat while we eat,” he said..
Vanessa thought William was afraid of being exposed, so she immediately cooperated and said, “Yes, Dad, let’s have breakfast first.
She quickly went to get breakfast.
Danny pushed a small dining table over, and Vanessa placed the breakfast on it.
Henry didn’t feel like eating at all. He knew he couldn’t live much longer.
He wanted to ask more questions. So he said, “William, are you a jewelry designer too?”
William quickly replied, “No, Mr. Sanchez, I’m in the business department.”
“Oh, business… business is good, good… You don’t have a lot of contact with Vanessa at work, do you?”
“Mr. Sanchez, we have a lot of contacts.”

“So, do you know Vanessa well?”
Hearing Henry’s words, Vanessa felt a bit uneasy for some reason. She was afraid their arrangement might be exposed, and her dad would be upset.
She said, “Dad, the temperature of the soup is just right. Let me feed you.”
Henry shook his head and said, “I don’t want to eat… I’m not hungry.
He looked at William again.
William put on a serious expression and said, “I have known Vanessa for over two years, so I know her quite well. She is enthusiastic, kind–hearted, and always striving to improve her life. She is resilient, brave, intelligent, and focused…”
“Have you guys dined… or watched a movie together?” Henry asked.
“Yeah, we often have lunch together.” William had gone through the information on Vanessa. Before her dad was hospitalized, she worked hard and often had on–job meals in the company cafeteria.
“Then you must know what Vanessa likes to eat?” Henry asked again.
Vanessa hurriedly interrupted, “Dad, the soup is getting cold.”
