Chapter 65
“Dad… I’m sorry. I should have stayed by your side… Vanessa knelt before the bed and gripped Henry’s hand, blaming herself.
If she had stayed with Henry and not let Shannic provoke him, something would not have happened to Henry so quickly.
“It’s not your fault. Henry was tired. William squatted down and hugged Vanessa tightly.
Keith said. “Vanessa, it was not bad for Mr. Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez had relied on painkillers to maintain his last days those days. I’ve been telling Mr. Sanchez he was better because I want him to use his faith to resist the illness. But you know we’re small when facing illness. Mr. Sanchez heard Danny call him Dad and had no regrets.”
“Nessa, don’t cry. Tell Henry we’ll be fine and let him at peace,” William said.
Vanessa listened. She knelt in front of the bed and held Henry’s hand. She said solemnly, “Dad, I will always remember what you taught me. I will be fine with William. I will also take good care of Danny…”
William helped Vanessa up and told her to be strong.
She was the big sister in the family. She had to set an example for Danny and make arrangements for Henry’s funeral.
Vanessa wiped her tears. She fetched some water and wiped Henry’s face and hands.
She added, “Dad liked to be clean. I’m going back to get his clothes.”
She still had to go and buy the shrouds for Henry.
She knew that Henry liked traditional customs.
Henry once mentioned that if he was not around one day, he wanted to wear the shrouds and bless Vanessa and Danny with prosperity and peace throughout their life.
“I’ll go with you.” William held Vanessa.
William then informed Arthur, his grandfather.
Vanessa returned to the rental house to get clothes for Henry and then went to buy the shrouds.
When she returned to the hospital, Danny was already awake. Danny knelt respectfully in front of Henry’s bed.
Arthur and Madison also came over.
Arthur and Madison were both wearing black clothes. They looked solemn and dignified.
Madison had pulled Danny twice, but Danny refused to get up.
Madison saw Vanessa, who was thin and her eyes were red, had come back. “Vanessa, you take a break. We’ll get people to take care of it,” said Madison, sighing.
Arthur said to contact the funeral home, but Vanessa said no. Her eyes reddened as she said, “I heard when people go to the underworld to report, the judges of the underworld will flip through their entire lives. If they do a lot of good deeds, they will let the people come back and live for a few more years…”
Madison’s heart ached when she heard Vanessa’s words. The tears welled up in her eyes.
Madison had also lost the person closest to her and knew that feeling. She couldn’t bear to let her family leave and hoped for
a miracle.
Madison reached out and hugged Vanessa to comfort her, “Yes, we’ll wait for tomorrow. If the judge doesn’t let him return, perhaps he’s arranged another task for him to protect you.”
“Mm” After being Comforted, Vanessa’s tears fell again.
Vanessa put on the shrouds for Henry one by one. William immediately gave her a hand.
Arthur was touched and said, “William, you must take good care of Vanessa.”
Vanessa was such a dutiful and grateful child. When she had children in the future, her children would be as dutiful and grateful as she was.
If a family married such a woman, why would try worry about not prospering?
William stayed with Vanessa and Danny at Henry’s bedside that night.
They didn’t eat anything.
The next day. William supported Vanessa and said, “Nessa, let Henry leave in peace.”
Vanessa’s face turned pale. Looking at her father’s quiet face, she called out, “Dad”
She knelt for the entire night. Her legs were no longer hers. She moved forward a little and reached out to touch Henry’s

face. Her tears fell on his’s face. She quickly wiped them away for him and said, “Dad, you can rest assured. Don’t worry about us. When you go over there, take good care of yourself and treat yourself well. You are the most important. Don’t neglect yourself again…”
Vanessa was about to get up, and William immediately supported her.
Arthur asked for Vanessa’s opinion. “Vanessa, shall we issue an obituary?”
“Okay.” Vanessa replied.
She couldn’t reject Arthur’s good intentions.
No matter how Vanessa couldn’t bear to part with Henry, she had to hold a funeral for him.
Vanessa helped Danny up.
Danny hugged Vanessa and cried loudly.
“Danny, we’re men. Be strong. William supported Danny.
He was afraid that Vanessa, who had finally calmed down, would break down again.
Ben immediately signed Danny aside.
Danny was afraid of affecting Vanessa. He tried his best to stop crying and be strong.
Arthur got someone to issue an official obituary.
The news immediately reported that Henry Sanchez, the Hawk family’s granddaughter–in–law’s father, had died of illness.
Ben contacted the funeral home, and they came to pick Henry up.
Vanessa and the others went to the funeral home.
Shannie had been thinking about how she would build a good relationship with Henry and cozy up to the Hawk family.
Unexpectedly, she saw the news of Henry’s death today.
Shannie was so angry that she scolded at home, “Henry, did you specifically come to jinx me? Huh? I was young and a good girl back then. When I was with you, not only did I have to raise someone else’s daughter, but I also had to give birth to a mute. I wouldn’t have left you if you could have earned more money.
“Now that Vanessa has finally managed to climb up the social ladder and her good days have come, we can live a good life with her. But you’re dead now. I’m so unlucky to have met you. I haven’t enjoyed a single day of happiness with you. It’s really annoying.”
Shannie thought that under such circumstances, she would have to see Henry off at the crematorium and make friends with Danny.
Danny had lacked maternal love since he was little. Shannie would buy him a few more toys to coax him.
On the other side.
Jackson also saw the news of Henry’s death.
He was drinking water, and the cup in his hand fell to the ground with a bang.
“Mr. Foster, what’s wrong?” Jackson’s assistant heard the commotion and rushed in.
“Clear all my schedules for tomorrow,” Jackson instructed him.
Jackson’s heart clenched as he read the news.
The images of Henry’s kindness to him flooded Jackson’s mind.
Jackson’s grandfather had sent Jackson to a distant relative’s home to raise him since he was little.
He didn’t have enough to eat when he grew up as a teenager.
Most of the time, it was Henry who added food for him.
Henry’s family background was average, but Henry was never stingy with Jackson.
He often asked Vanessa or Danny to invite Jackson to eat with them.
Jackson was incompetent and could not protect the people he cared about.
The Foster family didn’t have a flourishing population. Jackson’s grandfather was paranoid and ruthless.
Due to the fact that Jackson’s father’s generation had a history of siblings killing each other, Jackson’s grandfather sent him
a distant relative’s home to raise him as soon as Jackson was born.

Jackson heard from his mother that his grandfather’s original words were Jackson did not need to be raised well. Jackson just needed to be like an ordinary child.
Chapter 65
Jackson understood that his grandfather was afraid he would return home and compete with his brother for the family assets if he became outstanding.
Later, Jackson’s brother passed away.
Only then did Jackson’s grandfather bring him back and nurture him as the heir–to–be.
Jackson did not know at that time.
He only thought that his brother had died by accident.
It wasn’t until his grandfather asked Jackson to break up with Vanessa that he told Jackson the truth. Jackson’s brother committed suicide because he couldn’t take it anymore after his girlfriend passed away and
His grandfather revealed that Jackson’s brother’s girlfriend died accidentally because she was disobedient and refused to accept the Foster family’s check.
Jackson was scared.
For Vanessa’s safety, he could only choose to break up with Vanessa.
He had wanted to help the Sanchez family but didn’t dare. He was afraid that he would harm the Sanchez family.
The logic told him the best protection for the Sanchez family was to stay away from the Sanchez family and Vanessa, pretending to be indifferent. Then he would strengthen himself with the fastest speed.
However, Henry had passed away, so he had to send him off no matter what.
