Caroline couldn’t help but burst into laughter when she saw Eddy’s unflinching expression.

“Eddy, are you trying to figure out my intentions about Collins Group?” Caroline asked.

There was no need for Eddy to beat around the bush about this. They weren’t talking about business secrets. She sat up and said, “I do have some thoughts about buying it.”

Joy appeared on Eddy’s face at her words. “Then, you must need someone to endorse you, right?” He wanted to say that he could help her. However, he ended up changing his words.

Caroline looked at Eddy strangely. “Of course. If I want to buy Collins Group, I’ll definitely need funds from the bank. Hang on. What on earth are you trying to say?”

Eddy stammered, “I–I just wanted to remind you. Since you already know what to do, I have

nothing else to say.”

Caroline didn’t say anything in response.

After Eddy left, Caroline began to deal with some trivial matters in the company.

As for the issue of buying out the Collins Group, she couldn’t say that she didn’t care, but she didn’t pay special attention to it either.

The issue of whether she could get Collins Group wasn’t important to her right now. Moreover, she

actually couldn’t guarantee she could do so.

Although Kirk said that Eddy’s second uncle was willing to endorse them, Caroline wasn’t ready to take over a large company. Besides, she would rather write her script than manage a company

right now.

Since she had been inspired by Marietta, she’d had endless ideas of what to write. In the past few days, she had already written about ten thousand words.

If Marietta hadn’t been busy figuring things out about Yvonne at the moment, Caroline would have

gone to talk to her about the plot.

She let out a sigh. She wondered how Marietta was doing.

Later, Caroline waited until everyone had gotten off work before she left. As she got out of her office, Caroline noticed that Cheryl had yet to go.

“Cheryl, it’s so late. What are you still doing here?”

Cheryl raised her head. “I still have some work to do. I’ll get off work soon.”

As Caroline watched Cheryl busy at her desk, she realized how much the latter had grown while

“Cheryl..”

“What’s wrong, Caroline?”

“You’ve grown so much.”

Cheryl’s eyes widened slightly at her words, and she said with a smile, “Really? Caroline, your praise is the greatest affirmation I could get! I’ll definitely keep working hard.”

“But make sure not to work too hard. You need to take care of your health, too.”

“It’s okay. I’ll be alone at home anyway. At least I have work to keep my company here, so I won’t

be so lonely.

Caroline thought of Jack and pursed her lips slightly. But she simply said, “If you ever feel lonely, you can always visit me.”

“No, thank you.” Cheryl waved her hand.

I don’t want to be a third wheel.”

“Come on, a third wheel?Caroline chuckled.

Then, she thought of something and asked, “By the way, Cheryl, where is your family? I never hear

you mention them.”

Cheryl lowered her eyes, and after a long while, she said bitterly, “My parents died long ago. I don’t

have relatives anymore.”

Caroline apologized, “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay.” Cheryl smiled slightly. “It’s been years since then. I’ve already moved on.”

Caroline hugged Cheryl. A few minutes later, she let go of her and patted her shoulder. “Let’s go home. You can leave the rest of the work for tomorrow. You can’t do everything in a day.”

“Okay.” Cheryl nodded. She packed her things and followed Caroline downstairs.

Caroline had driven herself to work today. Hence, she headed to the underground parking lot.

She hadn’t expected to see Jack in the parking lot. Moreover, he was obviously waiting for her,

She was speechless at the sight.
