Chapter 150

Brendan took his glass and sipped at it for a moment before speaking, "Reuben, what is a woman thinking if she is unwilling to let you even touch her, and her desire is extinguished the second she lays eyes

on

you?"

Brendan was forthcoming with his troubles. Reuben did not keep his thoughts to himself and responded frankly, "She doesn't like you. Women won't desire men they don't like."

Brendan felt as though an arrow had pierced through his heart.

Naomi had said just now that kissing him did nothing to her, and she wouldn't be able to get it up if she

had been a man.

Upon thinking of that, he took another gulp of his gin.

Reuben saw his frustrations and continued, "If she used to like you and was willing to be intimate with you, she might be throwing a tantrum for now.

"The rocks of dissatisfaction are still weighing down on her heart, making her unwilling to cooperate."

Reuben's words made Brendan turn to look at him. He thought this sounded more pleasing to the ears

than his earlier statements.

"You've argued with Naomi, haven't you?" Reuben smiled as he spoke.

"Don't blame Naomi for getting angry. Throughout over two years of marriage, Naomi is the one who seeks you out every time. You've gotten too pampered by her.

"Everyone has limits to their dignity and patience. If you continue behaving like this, Naomi will be disappointed.

"In addition, she's not one of those women who are eyeing you for your reputation and wealth. She doesn't have to indulge in your every whim."

Brendan didn't like hearing that. He sipped his gin and said, "You me. You've never seen how she stands up to me all the time.

only see her when she comes looking for

"Last time, I had merely kissed her before she slapped me across the face. I had handprint marks on my face as a result.

"Her disposition isn't as sweet as you all make it out to be. She's not indulging in my whims. She has her

plans."

Reuben smirked. "Then you must have pissed her off entirely. If not, she would waste no time leaping into bed with you. Let's not talk about your history with her. Just look at what you did today.

"You knew that she would be coming over today. Yet you still brought Chloe over. Also, Chloe got that necklace from you, didn't she?

"You get ruffled when she merely talks to Maximus. Do you think she'd feel good seeing you give such an expensive necklace to a woman you keep beside you throughout the day?"

Brendan was silent.

Initially, he planned to give the necklace to Naomi. However, Naomi ignored him, even going as far as to dump the breakfast and medicine he gave her.

Unable to stand her behavior, he thrust the necklace upon Chloe soon after.

If Naomi was annoyed at Chloe's presence, she could've been honest about the matter with him.

Throughout their two years of marriage, he hated how she constantly minded her own business and maintained an air of magnanimity. If he didn't put some pressure on her, she wouldn't move a muscle. Reuben saw Brendan's silence and continued, "You said Naomi married you solely because she believed what those fortune tellers said, right?

"Regarding this, any other woman would've tried it out first with other men. Only when it doesn't work would they come to replace you!

"Naomi has never tried being with anyone else before. Thus, her decision to marry you was not entirely based on the predictions of the fortune tellers."

Brendan was silent in the face of Reuben's advice.

They didn't know a lot of things.

"Alright, stop trying to drink your sorrows away here. If you really want to live a good life and keep Naomi by your side, then apologize to her. "Women will give in once you apologize. If you continue dragging this out, you're only exacerbating the

problem."

As Reuben finished speaking, Brendan drained the last of his gin. He got up and said, "I'm going back first. Rest early."

"Alright, I'll sit here for a while before going back."

Reuben guessed that Brendan was going to see Naomi and didn't follow him back.

In the lift, Brendan stuck both hands in his pockets as Reuben's words echoed in his head.

After the lift doors opened, Brendan walked to the junction at the end of the corridor. He was initially

going to turn left back to his room. In the end, he still turned right.
