Chapter 578 The Virulent Sand Flow

After entering the space rift, the four found themselves in a yellow, boundless space with countlesschannels. It was difficult to tell whether each channel had an end or not.

"These passages indicate that we will go to different places after entering the Land of Legacy. Insome places, we may get great chances to promote our cultivation skills; in some places, we mayencounter life-threatening dangers; in others, we may replace nothing and eventually return empty-handed. What we will encounter entirely depends on our luck,” Terrence informed Ricky, Soar, andMadeline through their telepathic link.

"I see. It seems that from the moment we set foot on the space rift, crises have been everywhere,awaiting us. I hope our luck will not be so bad as to enter a dangerous place,” said Ricky.

Without any hesitation, the four intuitively chose a channel and jumped into it.

Hum! Hum! They felt their bodies slightly shake and then found themselves in a desolate area.There was nothing but endless yellow sand that was constantly surging like it had a life of its own.A gripping feeling of gloom hung over the place like dark clouds before a big storm, and the airsmelled toxic.

Looking at the sandy, yellow hell in front of them, the four slowly came to the realization that theywere trapped.

The yellow sand beneath their feet started moving urgently, swallowing them little by little.

Boom! Boom! Without any hesitation, the four hurriedly called on their Ultimate Domains and madeevery effort to stop the sand from sucking them in. They managed to use all of their power to floathigh in the air but only for a moment.

To their great surprise and horror, the sand started sucking them in even more forcefully. TheirUltimate Domains did not seem to affect it at all, and their spiritual energy seemed to have no effecton its sinking power.

"What's going on? What kind of sand is this? How can it stop us from standing mid-air?" Soar saidincredulously.

"Before entering the Land of Legacy, I asked around for some information about this mysteriousplace. If I am not wrong, we are now in the Virulent Sand Flow," replied Terrence solemnly.Terrence's grim expression could only mean that this so-called Virulent Sand Flow was extremelydangerous for anyone who dared enter it.

"The Virulent Sand Flow!" exclaimed Ricky with a grave expression.

"This place is called the Virulent Sand Flow because the sand here naturally contains massiveamounts of toxins, massive enough to seep into the air and cover every corner of this space,”Terrence said.

Like a self-fulfilling prophecy, Terrence's words started turning into living nightmares for himself andothers present. They were almost knee-deep into the sand now, and the toxins Terrence justdescribed were starting to feel all too real. They could feel them seeping into their garments andinto their skin now, and their enlightening power could only slow it down and not completely stopit

If the sand was as grossly toxic as described, it should only take less than two days to decimateeverything, the four's bodies and their enlightening power.

"Well, they were right to name this place the Virulent Sand Flow. I felt toxic the moment I stepped inthe sand," said Soar.

"The so-called sand flow refers to the quicksand here, which naturally has a strong sinking power. Iwas told that every spiritual king who ever entered here was not able to break away. We are trulyout of luck. The first place we came to in the Land of Legacy is the Virulent Sand Flow,"

said Terrence.

"Then how do we get out of this horrible place? Are we just going to die here helplessly like allthose spiritual kings?" Ricky asked desperately. He was afraid that at the rate they were sinking, itwould only take half a day for the sand to swallow all four of them completely, not to mention thedeadly toxins that might be swimming freely in their bloodstreams.

"We can't even float high in the air here.”

"Hold on for a second," said Terrence, putting his palms together and closing his eyes.

Boom! Boom! Terrence's aura erupted and surged all around him in a dense cloud of surreal,sparkling black smoke. Then, a huge black bird appeared in front of Ricky, Soar, and Madeline. Itwas the Black Peafowl, Terrence's beast body.

The Black Peafow! was dark all over, and each of its feathers was like cast black iron, glistening withcold awn. Its huge, sharp beak seemed to be able to snap a full-grown man in half with the slightesteffort.

Besides, it seemed that its sharp claws could tear through flesh like it was paper.

Standing close to the Black Peafowl, Ricky, Soar, and Madeline marveled at its unquestionablemagnificence, but its most striking quality was its eyes that looked like a pair of round, smooth, jetblack marbles resting above its mighty beak. Along with their reflections in those eyes, Ricky, Soar,and Madeline also saw a merciless killer instinct, which Ricky found especially unsettling. Ricky hadknown Terrence for a long time. Killing was not in his nature. He thought the Black Peafowl withsuch a strong killer instinct could not possibly materialize from Terrence's aura.

Looking at Terrence's beast body, Ricky suddenly felt like he was staring at a stranger with darkfeathers that had red, murderous blood flowing underneath them.

Warriors' beast bodies were supposed to reflect their spirits, and that was why it didn't make anysense that Terrence's would look and feel dangerously powerful.

However, Ricky was quite clear about the reason behind Terrence's unusual behavior. Terrence hadbeen practicing the Killing Swordsmanship.

Ricky also knew that it was because of Terrence's cultivation of the Killing Swordsmanship thatJasper believed Terrence's talent was no inferior to his.

Flapping his huge black wings, Terrence tried to break free from the Virulent Sand Flow's pull.

The Virulent Sand Flow's sinking power was almost too much for Terrence to handle. Sweat brokefrom Terrence’s skin and seeped into his dark feathers because of the strenuous effort he wasexerting.

Sweating might be a common thing for warriors at the state of Blood Purification, but it was almostimpossible for the innate spiritual kings to sweat a lot. But now, Terrence was sweating all over insuch a short period of time, which showed how much power he had spent to resist the sinkingpower of the Virulent Sand Flow.

"What a powerful force! If I didn't have these wings, I'm afraid I wouldn't have been able to comeout of the sand," said Terrence in a grave mood while flapping his wings at top speed.

Even in his beast body, Terrence could feel the toxins from the sand eating at his wings.

"Killing Enlightenment!" Terrence bellowed. With that, Terrence's wings glowed that they almostlooked white for a moment. With the power of his Killing Enlightenment, his wings started to feellighter and stronger. The toxins were being expelled.

"Terrence's Killing Enlightenment is actually stronger than before," Ricky said solemnly. He was surethat it was the reason why Terrence could remain in mid-air under this harsh environment.

The next moment, Terrence snarled fiercely.

The huge claw under his abdomen glowed with spiritual energy and then turned into a big hand. Hetook Ricky, Soar, and Madeline out of the sand and threw them on his back.

"Terrence, can you still fly?" asked Ricky anxiously.

"I don't think I still have enough power to fly,” Terrence said with difficulty.

"Even if I can still fly, the Virulent Sand Flow is vast and boundless, and there are poisonous fogs inmany places. If we fly into the fogs, we will all die.”

"So, how long can you remain in mid-air?" asked Ricky in a somber voice.

"I can only fly for another half hour at most. After that, we have to replace another way to saveourselves, or we will perish,” said Terrence with his voice growing heavy and worried.

"Terrence, you said you asked around about the Virulent Sand Flow. Did you not get survival tipsfrom those you asked?" asked Soar.

"When I researched about the Virulent Sand Flow, I was not thinking about us getting ultimatelystuck in it, and so, I did not ask for survival tips,” said Terrence.

"There is another way, but considering our situation, we would die before we replace one," Terrenceadded.

"Find what?" retorted Soar.

"To survive here, we must have an airship to carry us because the sand cannot sink it," said Terrence.
