~HAMES ~

Another frustrating day without Imogen.

I had been checking the internet on how to make your angry wife forgive you but it all seemed to be pointless.

It was high time I gained courage to call that stubborn woman I called my wife.

I picked my phone and searched for her name in the contact list.

Just one click and the phone was going to be ringing but it felt like the biggest deal in my entire life, it felt like an issue of life and death. I had never been this scared in my life.

I succumbed to it and called her.

It kept ringing continuously but there was no response.

I sighed and dropped the phone on the bed but flinched when I heard, "hello?"

I picked the phone, staring at the screen like it was a dream.

"Hello?" Oh my gosh, that voice, I missed it so damn much. I immediately went into a trance after hearing it.

"It's probably a butt-dial, ignore it." I heard Lila say.

I snapped out of my trance and exclaimed, "no! Wait!"

"Oh, it's real."

"What do you want?" Her voice wasn't sweet or gentle but it didn't sound rude at all and I appreciated that very much.

I started scratching my neck. "Uh... I - I was..." what did I want to say? I didn't know what to say, I didn't know how to fit everything I needed to let her know in just one word. I was beyond nervous already. "If all you'll do is stutter then bye-"

"No, Imogen. Wait, please." I sighed. She finally answered my call and I was clearly being stupid by not saying anything. "I know you're still mad at me but can I maybe pay you a visit at least?" "No."

"Please, I'm dying."

"Don't pay me a visit."

I sighed in defeat. "Okay, but our appointment with the doctor is very soon. I'm definitely coming with you to figure out the gender of our baby." I said, placing a stress on 'our'.

She didn't say anything for a while. I heard mutterings from the other end of the line then she cleared her throat. "Fine, we'll go to the Doctor together." My kidney flipped in excitement after hearing that. It meant I was going to spend time with her.

"Thanks a lot!" Of course I was grinning from ear to ear. I had expected her to say something annoying like 'oh yeah, the same appointment you had with the Doctor for Samantha's pregnancy' because things were just so crazy at the moment. "If you don't have anything else to say, please end the call. Mia, Lila and I are working on a really serious issue here."

"Of course I have a lot of things to say. When will you return home? I miss you. I hardly eat because you're not with me, I can't perform my daily activities properly anymore, I'm just like a living dead."

Once again, silence. This time, it didn't seem like she was going to respond to me.

"Hello?" I said to confirm if the call hadn't ended but it was confirmed after hearing her deep exhalation. "I'll assume you're not answering me. Anyway, I love you and I hope you realize that soon and have even a little bit of trust for me rather than letting your emotions override you, over something a crazy woman said to you."

Still no response.

"I don't know if you're listening to me and intentionally not replying or something else but you have to know that I miss you so much now and feel like... I don't know what to do, this world isn't worth living in anymore without you. I hope you come back home soon before I die. I love you."

I ended the call after a minute of silence.

I finally decided to be well today because I was feeling extremely sick and Mom and Amanda insisted I ate well enough, after working out.

I had worked for a while and now I needed good sleep because my head was throbbing really hard from the terrible headache I was feeling. I had a lot of things to catch up with at work.

Everywhere seemed blurry and walking to the bed felt like an endless journey.

I finally got to the bed and laid on it, covering myself with a duvet and shut my eyes to sleep.

I heard the sound of the door opening but I subconsciously paid no attention to it. I was smelling the aroma of sleep and it felt nice to finally think of sleeping well. Something dropped on the bed then a hand (obviously feminine) started caressing my shoulder and arm.

I was too interested in the relaxation from the caressing to pay attention to who it was. Wait, what? Someone was here? Imogen?! I just knew she was going to come.

I quickly snapped my eyes open, wearing the greatest smile and turned my head in the direction of the person.

My smile slipped and transformed to a frown when it turned out to be Samantha and not Imogen.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I wanted to yell more than the way I did but I was too drowsy to do that.

"I heard you're very ill so I decided to come and give the father of my babies a massage." She rubbed her tummy bump. "Your wife has left you so you need this." "We haven't done a DNA test for that child so we can't be certain."

"If you still don't believe me after the beautiful tape of us that night, we can conduct a DNA test anytime you want to." She leaned her face closer to mine.

I immediately got out of bed before she did something to make me unconscious again.

"Samantha, get out of this house right this instant." I barked.

Remembering that she was the reason Imogen wasn't here with me was making my body boil in fury.

"Why are you being so stubborn? I'm not asking you for too much." She smirked seductively, scanning me from head to toe like she wanted to devour me immediately. "Leave before I call the security. I won't even consider the fact that you're pregnant."

"Sweetheart, stop being so stubborn. Imogen is away and you need to have fun. I'm always available, your dear mistress." She crawled on the bed, holding my hands.

Her touch was increasing the degree at which my blood was boiling at. The headache I was feeling had grown from bad to worse and I felt like taking her to another woman to pull every strand of her hair out of her scalp and smack some sense into her.

I walked away from her and picked my phone from the couch, to call the security, but she crawled out of bed and ran to me, slapping the phone out of my hand.

I was beyond furious, my skull was going to explode soon and I knew that.

I wanted to yell at her but I was suddenly hit by a truck of giddiness and my headache worsened.

"What's wrong?" She quirked an eyebrow, holding my shoulders.

"Let go." I brushed her hand away, holding the side of my head like it was going to make my blurry vision clear again.

"You're not well. I'll put you to sleep."

"No, stop." I pushed her away, staggering to the bed.

I fell on the bed, scattering the things on the bedside table to the floor.

"Hames," I heard her footsteps as she ran toward me.

She helped me out with sleeping straight on the bed. I wanted to protest against it but I was so weak.

My vision was kind of blurry but I could still see that she once again crawled up the bed, sitting beside me.

"I love you so much, baby." She held my shirt collar, straddling my waist with her legs.

"Wh-what have you..." I trailed off, feeling life drawing out of me. The entire room was spinning, like my brain was. "What did you do to me?"

"I don't know what's happening to you but it's really good for me, sweetheart." She started unbuttoning my shirt, caressing my bare chest with her hands and lowered her head to trail kisses from my shoulders to my neck and lips. "Your wife is so stupid to have left you just for me. I'll have you for myself, I have nothing to lose."

I knew I was ill and had been feeling dizzy lately but this time was totally different, it felt like I had taken sleeping pills or something.

My memory flashed back to the last thing I drank, which was an orange juice Mom had given me before leaving with Amanda. She must've added sleeping pills to it, shit!

Now Samatha was taking advantage of that.

As she was taking off my shirt, I was trying to push her off but I was held in the hands of extreme weakness.

There was no way this was happening again. Imogen was never going to forgive me if anything happened between us again.

I wanted to stop this nonsense but weakness was the boss of me already.

With the remaining strength in me, I pushed her but she kept her hands behind my neck and didn't fall like I had expected.

My vision was very blurry but I still realized that she took off her shirt after mine, remaining in her tube top.

"S-samatha, stop this, you'll only regret it." I protested weakly.

"I would never regret it. I can't wait to feel you in me." She leaned her face closer to mine but we both flinched when something dropped to the floor.

We stared at the door and Imogen was standing beside a bag that had clearly stopped to the floor. Her mouth was opened widely with her eyebrows puckered in anger.

Sam was still straddling my waist, we were shirtless, her hands were on my bare chest, our faces were only a few inches apart and Imogen was seeing us. She was going to think the worst of me.

Wasn't this worth fainting for? I immediately lost all consciousness and was greeted by blackout.
